Who: Oscar and Manba
When: April 19th
Where: Some suburbs somewhere
What: Prayer 16 or: lost dog retrieval
[After helping Caster out with a prayer, Oscar started thinking about maybe doing something like that with Manba. It'd be fun, maybe, and either way they'd be doing some good. He's a god, after all. He should try doing that.
There's a prayer from a little kid that he's been getting a lot this past week--their dog ran off. It sounds pretty straightforward and who doesn't like dogs? The picture the kid left at one of his temples shows a corgi! Totally harmless.
They poof in the middle of the suburbs where the kid lives. Oscar starts looking for the house.]
Thanks for agreeing to help, Manba.

Although, hearing they're helping to find a dog briefly reminded him of the cultist's hideout infiltration... Maybe this dog is friendly. And hopefully no thrown pies anywhere.]
It's no problem. Just ask and I'll come.
[Especially since they're god and shinki together. He looks around at the suburb they're in. Seems like an ordinary suburb from what he can see.]
Do you know where they live?

Sounds good. I'm ready to begin. [Hm...] What should we do if we find the dog?
no subject
[Oscar hands Manba a small bag of dog treats from his backpack.]
That should help.
no subject
... Yeah, it's solid. And not like those pies.]
Got it. I'm ready to go.
[After putting the bag of dog treats away, Yamanbagiri looks ahead. Time to begin the search!
Since Oscar mentioned signs, Yamanbagiri quickly look for the nearest sign and walks towards it. It should give them an idea where to go, or how far away the house may be.]
no subject
Any luck finding the signs?
no subject
We're in the right area, but I haven't seen anything unusual... I think.
[He cross his arms, frowning for a moment.]
Are there a lot of pets in this area?
no subject
Yeah, but there's so many that I have no idea where a lost corgi could go. Maybe try the next street over, see if she got picked up by someone over there?
no subject
After that brief moment of wonder, he turn his attention back to the prayer. And nods.]
Right. We can also ask around if anyone see anything.
[... Preferably children, since they seem to see them easier than adults.]
no subject
[Even as he says it, Oscar winces.]
It might scare the kids.
no subject
It doesn't stop him from feeling a spike of anxiety and being self-conscious for a moment. His hand reach up to tug his hood for a moment, and he slowly nod.]
... Yeah, I'll do it. Just for a while.
[And maybe future prayers? But one step at a time...]
no subject
[He feels so bad.]
At least if you get out of their sight they'll forget you were there...?
no subject
[Sure, they would forget about him. But he will remember the experience. At least it's relatively minor, compared to other experiences in the past.
He takes in a breath, and let it out.]
I think once we start asking, I'll be able to get used to it...?
[At least for the duration of this prayer.]
no subject
no subject
I will. [Relying on his god, just as a god can rely on their shinki.] ... I'm ready to go.
no subject
Hopefully. They get over to the next street and there's only four kids out and about playing.]
Seriously...?
no subject
Let's hope they saw something.
[Okay, here goes. With deep breath and letting it out, he reaches up to pull his hood off. It falls backward, revealing the blond hair hidden underneath.
And he slowly walks over towards them.]
Ah... hey.
[For better or worse, the four kids look over and see him.]
no subject
I like your cape.
no subject
Uh, thanks. Can I ask you something?
no subject
[One of the other kids elbows the bold sassy one.]
Ignore him! What is it?
no subject
Have you seen a dog around here lately? A corgi type.
no subject
no subject
Er... it's a type of dog. [Should he describe it, or not?] Just... have you seen any dogs lately?
no subject
no subject
[Can you even describe a corgi like that?]
Can you lead me to it? Someone lost their dog, so I've been looking around for it.
[Might not even be the same dog, but might try his luck anyway. And it seems like as long Yamanbagiri's focused on the task, he temporarily forgot about his exposed face...]
no subject
Well?
no subject
They said there's a "fat sausage dog" hiding under their porch. So I asked them to lead me to it.
[Speaking of which, he starts to walk after them. Hopefully before those kids start to forget about him.]
no subject
[Whatever. Oscar goes along with Manba, hoping this is in fact the dog.
The kid who mentioned it goes into the house, yelling for their mom because someone thinks the dog under the porch might be theirs. Oscar looks around.]
I hope this is the dog.
no subject
Oh, uh, okay. Yes?
[He quickly head over towards the porch, looking for the dog. This is easier to deal with than... than thinking about that familiar look. He knows that look, the look of people who notice his face.
Under the porch, there seem to be a shape... a shape with a moving tail.]
no subject
Here, I've got some trea--
[No sooner does he start saying the word then the dog is coming out and yep, it's a corgi. A dirty, smelly corgi who recognized the smell of their favorite treats and is now trying to bowl Oscar over to get at them.]
Found her!
