[ hifumi isn't really a television person for...reasons. personal reasons. she'd really rather not see herself on television, if she can help it. it makes her uncomfortable.
but here, she feels a little better about it. the odds of her appearing are none, so she doesn't mind doing this prayer with dust.
she and dust stand in front of a small apartment. the faint sound of something playing in the background can be heard coming through the window. ]
Going by their prayer, they really want that. [Company to watch with... a strange prayer, but Dust thinks he can understand. Having someone by your side to share your interests can make anything more fun, more exciting, more pleasant.]
Trust me, I'm way out of my comfort zone here too. [That feels like a theme for months now.] But we're not doing this for our benefit, just theirs. A little uncomfortable feeling on our part is worth helping them with a thing they feel is critical.
Trust me, it's strange to me too. When I was alive, I was surrounded by problems that needed to be deal with using a sword... This is way outside of what I've ever been familiar with. But it's duty. It's what we need to do.
[Dust nods an answer to her question. Yes, they should, and shall.]
[ she frowns. it's still strange to her that so many people here are from worlds she would have only ever dreamed of--worlds that theoretically shouldn't exist. but she was also a believer in the phantom thieves, who operated in a realm that wasn't visible to the naked eye.
quietly, she approaches the door and gives a knock. there's no answer. ]
Oh--right. We need to be louder to announce our presence, don't we?
Right. Kids and animals are pretty good at seeing us, but not normal adults. And if we're here to hang out with a kid, they probably don't normally answer the door. [So one way or another, yes -- less quiet, less subtle.]
[It's interesting, seeing someone so quiet and reserved as a god. Dust wonders, once again, how these things work. What decides who comes here, especially as a god.]
[This kid is on the fringes of easily noticing them, which explains the delay. Luckily, it also means Dust doesn't register as too strange, with just enough of a veil between them to make his inhuman appearance nothing notable. Letting Hifumi take the rear for the sake of her own comfort, Dust follows the boy into the house and towards the living room, where the TV already blares noise.]
[ this is...a bad idea. and that's exactly why hifumi wanted to take this on. no girl deserves to have her heart broken by someone so pompous and rude like the requester, and they have the perfect plan to fulfill the needs of the wish while also making sure that there isn't real homewrecking to be had.
she turns to alex and lance. it's obvious hifumi doesn't look too thrilled. ]
I'm very sorry to have dragged you both into this...
[This is probably the worst idea Lance has been a part of in a while. Or at least since showing up here. But he has all the confidence in the world they can do it, so he's not too bothered.]
Eh, don't worry about it. Everything will be fine!
[ For whatever reason, this prayer had also landed in her pile, and while she could have simply ignored it, she had her concerns if she did. Thankfully, others had thought so as well. ]
I think it's better that we deal with it rather than him taking things into his own hands...
I appreciate you both accompanying me. And yes, I agree; I felt that this situation was unacceptable on his part, so I thought some meddling would be necessary. Even if it's not in the way he's hoping.
[ they're at a park! perfect location for a date, and it's where the girl is supposed to be with her new boyfriend. ]
prayer 74: dust

Um... Is it really okay to interrupt them?

[ she taps her chin thoughtfully...and then takes a couple of steps forward. ]
Admittedly, I feel a little strange doing this, but this is all part of going on missions, isn't it?

You're absolutely right. [ a nod. ] Thank you. This helps me to further my understanding of my responsibilities here as a god.
...Shall we?

Um... I'm no good at this sort of thing...

[Smiling at her, he twists the doorknob and pushes it open. Dust doesn't really do loud, but his voice penetrates and carries nonetheless.]
We're here!

[ hifumi please!!! she'll attempt to help him out and knock louder once dust calls out.
apparently it's enough, because there's a young boy--he looks like a teenager--who answers the door. "hey! come on in!"
hifumi looks over at dust. ]
After you?

First, we'll need to locate our target.

Lance can, shockingly, manage subtlety as he scans the park. He hasn't caught sight of their target yet, but he's keeping an eye out for her.]
Definitely not in the way he's hoping. We're not here to help jerks like that. I mean, geez! She can date who she want!
[He sees someone who looks close, and he squints off into the distance.]
I think that might be her over there.

..How can someone want so badly to ruin someone else's happiness?
[ To think that they'd go as far as to pray for it. ]
....He said he just needs proof that they've broken up, correct? What if..we were to just make it look like they did? Would that be possible?
[ It might be tricky to do, but she's far more motivated to keep that girl out of harm's way than actually fulfilling his desires. ]
