Who: Pyrrha + Serapis Temple + Others When: May 18th Where: Serapis Temple + Wherever What: Jaune Arc. Also, dealing with the aftermath of Ren's disappearance. (If you'd like a starter, please PM me or PP me at amplitude!)
[ pyrrha normally leaves for her morning jogs after keith and shiro have already woken up. today, however, when they wake, they'll find that she's already gone. she doesn't come back for an unusually long time.
when she does come back, however, she looks dejected. pyrrha's not good at talking about how she feels, nor is she good at hiding those feelings. it's why she looks up at shiro and keith with not even an ounce of her usual cheer and gives them a weak nod in greeting. ]
[ Something is very, very wrong. While Shiro can't expect every day to be a good day for any of them, Pyrrha generally doesn't look so down. She's usually there to greet them with a smile, and that she's not wearing one this morning worries Shiro. His shinki are his family, so when one of them is upset, he has to do something to help.
And more importantly, he wants to. ]
Morning, Pyrrha. [ His voice is laced with concern. ] If there's anything you want or need to talk about... you know we're here for you.
[ she isn't surprised when shiro approaches her and reads her like he does. he knows her well by now. perhaps just as much as jaune did...
the thought crosses her mind, and she bites her lip to hold herself together. she fumbles with her words for a bit before she falls silent. she closes her eyes and looks pained before she shows shiro a bouquet of flowers that she'd been holding behind her back.
the tag on it is addressed to pyrrha, signed from ren. ]
He left these for me...right before he disappeared.
Shiro's breath catches in his chest. He reaches out and puts a hand on Pyrrha's shoulder then--if she allows--pulls her into an embrace. He minds the flowers; he doesn't want to crush the last thing Ren left for her. ]
I'm so sorry, Pyrrha.
[ It's the only thing he can think to say, right now. ]
[ pyrrha returns the embrace. like shiro, she's careful with the flowers. they're ren's parting gift to her and she won't damage them if she can help it. ]
[It's easy to take for granted little things, morning greetings made in consideration of everyone being awake, a pleasant note to start the day off with... So, of course it's odd to find that typical routine disrupted. It isn't troubling, however, until Pyrrha makes her appearance once more at the temple.]
... Morning. [Something is Clearly Wrong, but what? For how many people are in this temple, it's incredible how not a single one of them are any good about being forthcoming with their troubles, but at least it makes figuring out how to open the door for conversations somewhat easier.] You were out pretty early today, got a lot on your mind? [Nice and easy, give her space to talk about it on her own.]
[ it's not wrong. three people are in serapis temple and none of them like talking about their problems. it just so happens that pyrrha is perhaps the most transparent one out of them all.
she appreciates keith's easy approach, which is very different from shiro's--direct and straight to the point. not that it's a bad thing. it's just nice to not feel caught in the act.
and yet... ]
I... [ her voice is quiet. she pauses for a moment and looks like she's carefully considering what she's about to say next: ] ...When you remembered Shiro....how did you know that it was...real?
[Ah...? Ah. He can guess where she's going with this. He's quiet for a moment as he thinks it over, but if he's honest, having Shiro himself here to confirm it was a big part of feeling assured that it wasn't just some trick or dream. If he can't guarantee she has that avenue, though, he'll keep that thought to himself.]
I guess... with how much there was to remember, and what all I remembered, it just... made sense. [That feels like kind of a vague answer, though.] It was one of those things where I felt like I knew I could trust myself, and thinking about it didn't feel dangerous.
[And here, he gives her a look, imploring her to continue. "What did you remember?"]
[ she was afraid he'd say something like that. it confirms that what she dreamed--remembered--was real. jaune arc is real. he's not just an imaginary boy with blonde hair and armor.
no...the feelings she has towards him are familiar, warm, and painful all at once. she frowns and bows her head. pyrrha bites on her lower lip to try and keep herself together. ]
...And they all turned out to be true, didn't they.
[While his own memories so far had been... not wholly pleasant, but definitely not so absolutely upsetting, it's a little difficult to figure out exactly what's bothering her so much based on just what she's said. Did she remember something particularly sad? Or is she feeling bad knowing what she may have left behind by being here?]
They did.
[His frown deepens, and when she looks down, he angles his head a little in an attempt to try and catch her focus again.]
Are you okay, Pyrrha? [He's here for whatever she might ask of him. To listen. To Distract. Whatever she needs right now.]
[ she was hoping he wouldn't say that, but keith wouldn't lie to her. her heart aches. jaune...jaune. how is he? is he okay? how is he holding up with his training--these are all questions that race through her head as she tries to keep it together.
it's not going so well. ]
I'm-- [ ... ] I'll be...alright. I just... [ she looks away. ] I just need some time.
[ things aren't looking too great right now, but pyrrha still owes lance a day at the cat cafe. just like she'd promised a few weeks ago. it'd be nicer to reconnect with him if things weren't Like This, but pyrrha thinks it'd be good to get out of the house. lance is also bright and full of energy, so hanging out with him should be a nice break from...everything.
she meets him outside of the entrance and gives him a small wave. ]
[Not like Nia isn't, what with going to a new god yet again, and probably screwing it up again too. So that means... they should hang out and commiserate, right?]
[So how about the amusement park? Nia's made it damn clear this isn't a date, certain conversations in the past aside. They can hang out, enjoy the rides, play some stupid games, eat some overpriced but tasty food. Sounds perfect, right?]
[ definitely. even with things being sort of up in the air between them, pyrrha still wants to spend time with her. they could both use a day of fun to clear their minds a bit.
she waves over to nia when she arrives, dressed in appropriate day clothing. ]
Then I'll handle food. [She's fully prepared to be stubborn about this -- well, saying that is basically the same thing as saying, 'She's Nia'.] If you've never had a funnel cake, I'm making sue you get one before this day is out.

It's alright to not be alright. You cared about him, and he's gone.
It would hurt for anyone.

[ she takes in a deep breath. ]
But I suppose this is all just bad timing. [ she looks off to the side. ] He's not the only one I left behind.

she meets him outside of the entrance and gives him a small wave. ]
Hello...! I'm sorry I'm late!

The cats there are adorable. He kind of wants one, but maybe he should talk to Hifumi about it first...?]
Hey! It's no problem. Pretty sure we can still get a decent spot.
[He grins, pushing off from the wall he'd been leaning against.]
Wanna head inside?
no subject
but anyway ]
I hope so, too. And--of course. Um...after you?
[ not as chipper as usual, but she's certainly trying to be. ]
no subject
He also notices she doesn't seem as lively as she was when they met, and his brow furrows for a moment before he shrugs.
Hopefully she's okay. If not, then, well, maybe Lance can help make things okay.]
I thought it was usually ladies first.
no subject
[ pyrrha sheepishly walks through the door first, but makes sure to hold it open for lance too? smh. but whatever, they're inside. ]
I believe we have up to 90 minutes to be in here with the cats. It goes by very quickly, just so you know.
no subject
Hour and a half? That's not too bad. Should be plenty of time!
[And if it's not enough, they can always go somewhere else! On this not-a-date.]
