Who: Chris, and you! [open post]
When: May 20th-May 30th, except for the 21st, because she busy ICly that day
Where: Both the Far and Near Shore
What: General Open Post
[Singing in the Park]
[Chris didn't know when she'd started receiving prayers like this, but it was a welcome change from the kind she usually received while playing the role of Ishtar. In this case, a young guitar player was trying to become noticed, and wished someone would come along to help him...
... and well. Chris had wanted to get out and perform in public more.
And so she was standing in the middle of the park, looking embarassed... but also singing, and with a smile on her face as the young man played accompanying music on his guitar.]
...Those times when I felt like crying, and those times when I did~
You were always there for me, "Don't lose your way," you said to me...
As you came closer and grasped my hand, You, my special someone...!
[ooc - This is technically taken from another series, but I needed something softer and which fit her character, so let's just handwave that part.]
[All work and no play make tiny god something something]
Oh come on!
[Today, Chris found herself at an arcade in the Near Shore, playing one of those Cardass type arcade machines. As it turned out, CanColle cards suffered from the same horrible distribution rates as the actual mobile game, and Chris was dead set on earning that rare, limited edition "Tommy-chan" card.]
Alright, you stupid son of a bitch, this time I'm winning that card, or you and I are going to have words.
[And so Chris shoved another yen coin into the machine, and narrowed her eyes, focusing on the gameplay... which appeared to be some weird hybrid of a strategy game, a rhythm game, and bullet hell involving anthropomorphized firearms? Somehow, it worked.
But she was determined to see this through... even if how well she did barely had a limited influence on what cards she earned.]
[Living on a prayer]
[Today? Today was about work. Chris had gone on a scouting, err, outing to gather information in advance of handling a prayer, but somehow, she'd managed to be caught unaware and was now deeply involved in a battle against an ayakashi that had been ruining a farmer's crops.
Said ayakashi looked like a very demonic, very large crow.]
Son of a bitch son of a bitch son of a bitch...!
[She'd already transformed into her gear form, but for now, she was focused on leading the enormous bird away from the populated area. Which meant running, and not being able to fight back. Continuing to curse to herself, she sent a text message to anyone she had in her social network, imploring them to see if they could come help...]
[Shopping]
[It was summer now, and Chris couldn't keep relying on all the clothes that Ginia and Irisviel had lent her. They were all more fitting for colder weather or formal occasions, and she needed something light and breezy.
So, she went out on multiple days, hitting clothing stores, malls, and shopping centers, shopping for clothes. Not just that, but things to decorate her temple. And... on several days? She'd found herself in shops she didn't normally frequent at all, like jewelry stores and shops that sold Japanese antiques. She could be found in such places, looking unsure of herself and staring hard in concentration at their wares.
She had a friend's birthday coming up after all.]

[She still appears nervous and undecided, however, as her gaze settles on the blue gem-encrusted bracelet.]
no subject
It means a lot to you, doesn't it?
no subject
Well, she'd probably tell me something lame like "I care most about the thought you put into this", so I should actually do that part, right?!
no subject
[ Although honestly, Minako is also willing to buy into the idea of Chris just being thoughtful rather than this necessarily being for someone special.. She's discovered Chris really just does think of other people's feelings a lot.
But this is also Minako we're talking about, so now she's determined to dig to the bottom of this. Especially when the other seems kind of embarrassed. ]
Or is there maybe some other reason?
no subject
W-what exactly are you trying to insinuate about m-me and senpai, huh?!
[She better hope Minako is as thick headed as she seems, or else she probably just hanged herself.]
no subject
Ah..? Is that where I should be looking for the answer to this great mystery? Something special that's going on between you and your precious senpai? [ She looks so pleased. Chris may be embarrassed, but Minako is so here for any gossip on other people's connections. ]
no subject
Nothing's going on yet! Or will! Or ever! Arrrrgh!
no subject
[ It's half teasing pushing, half a genuine question.. It helps when you're so shameless like Minako is that it's almost hard to get that other people might actually get flustered over things. ]
no subject
Because nothing has actually happened yet, alright?!
[There you go, Minako. Her horrible secret. An unrequited crush.]
no subject
But at least in this case, while it makes Minako look pretty excited to just have been able to prod that out of the other, she's also just looking mighty happy for the other. Genuinely so. ]
So it's.. Oh, that's so cute! You guys would be great together! [ She may not really have seen them together, but she knows them individually, and that's enough to her. ] I'm already jealous..!
[ Even though Chris literally just said nothing has happened yet... ]
no subject
[Poor Chris is as red as a beet by now. She turns away, trying to calm down.]
This isn't something that comes easy for me, okay?
no subject
[ Minako is just.. easily excitable about these things. But she is making a conscious effort to calm down for a moment, since she doesn't want to embarrass Chris too much after how nice the other has been to her. Even though it's hard to not embarrass people by default when you're Minako Aino.
(She's still giddy, just trying to hide it a little better as she sucks in a deep breath and clears her throat.) ]
But.. can I at least ask.. are you planning on asking her out when you give her that gift? I mean, it's the perfect occasion! [ Listen, that's her fangirl side talking, but also just her honest to god friend advice side. ]
no subject
What?! No! This is a birthday present! It'd be really tacky asking her out on her birthday!
no subject
[ Well, during her life, that is. With her weird hangups in this life, it'd just be awkward, but such details can be left out. ]
I mean, if she likes you too, then she'd just be happy if you asked her.
no subject
[She pauses.]
Besides, it just doesn't... feel right for me, either.
no subject
So.. when are you planning on asking her about it then?
no subject
[Chris gives her a pleading look; frustrated, but sincerely wanting to move on from this.]
no subject
I'll leave you to it then. I'm just saying.. don't wait forever, you know? Time is always limited, and a lot of times we regret not having said or done things in time. [ But she quickly waves her hand and continues. ] That's all though, that's all! I'll go so you can finish picking a present, alright? Good luck with it!
no subject
[Chris looked down at the floor.] I'm going to be honest. Part of me is afraid of wasting my time, or that she likes someone else. But I already made a promise that I'll try at least...
...
But yeah. Thank you, Minako. I'll see you around, okay?
