Who: Chris, and you! [open post]
When: May 20th-May 30th, except for the 21st, because she busy ICly that day
Where: Both the Far and Near Shore
What: General Open Post
[Singing in the Park]
[Chris didn't know when she'd started receiving prayers like this, but it was a welcome change from the kind she usually received while playing the role of Ishtar. In this case, a young guitar player was trying to become noticed, and wished someone would come along to help him...
... and well. Chris had wanted to get out and perform in public more.
And so she was standing in the middle of the park, looking embarassed... but also singing, and with a smile on her face as the young man played accompanying music on his guitar.]
...Those times when I felt like crying, and those times when I did~
You were always there for me, "Don't lose your way," you said to me...
As you came closer and grasped my hand, You, my special someone...!
[ooc - This is technically taken from another series, but I needed something softer and which fit her character, so let's just handwave that part.]
[All work and no play make tiny god something something]
Oh come on!
[Today, Chris found herself at an arcade in the Near Shore, playing one of those Cardass type arcade machines. As it turned out, CanColle cards suffered from the same horrible distribution rates as the actual mobile game, and Chris was dead set on earning that rare, limited edition "Tommy-chan" card.]
Alright, you stupid son of a bitch, this time I'm winning that card, or you and I are going to have words.
[And so Chris shoved another yen coin into the machine, and narrowed her eyes, focusing on the gameplay... which appeared to be some weird hybrid of a strategy game, a rhythm game, and bullet hell involving anthropomorphized firearms? Somehow, it worked.
But she was determined to see this through... even if how well she did barely had a limited influence on what cards she earned.]
[Living on a prayer]
[Today? Today was about work. Chris had gone on a scouting, err, outing to gather information in advance of handling a prayer, but somehow, she'd managed to be caught unaware and was now deeply involved in a battle against an ayakashi that had been ruining a farmer's crops.
Said ayakashi looked like a very demonic, very large crow.]
Son of a bitch son of a bitch son of a bitch...!
[She'd already transformed into her gear form, but for now, she was focused on leading the enormous bird away from the populated area. Which meant running, and not being able to fight back. Continuing to curse to herself, she sent a text message to anyone she had in her social network, imploring them to see if they could come help...]
[Shopping]
[It was summer now, and Chris couldn't keep relying on all the clothes that Ginia and Irisviel had lent her. They were all more fitting for colder weather or formal occasions, and she needed something light and breezy.
So, she went out on multiple days, hitting clothing stores, malls, and shopping centers, shopping for clothes. Not just that, but things to decorate her temple. And... on several days? She'd found herself in shops she didn't normally frequent at all, like jewelry stores and shops that sold Japanese antiques. She could be found in such places, looking unsure of herself and staring hard in concentration at their wares.
She had a friend's birthday coming up after all.]

[If you want to thread with Chris but aren't feeling any of the prompts, just PM my journal and we can work something out!]

[She blinks, and then scowls.]
Of course I'm up to the task. Don't you see this crowd?

[ Hibiki steps back, unfazed by the size of this gathering, and sits upon her throne. She gets this many people looking at her, back home, simply by existing in public. So, by all means! She shall grant Chris these followers.
For now.
The look with which she fixes Chris manages to be both expectant and self-satisfied. The latter to a degree that should be illegal.
Not that such would stop her. ]

Fine, I will!
[She stomped towards the group, who regarded her as if they'd just forgotten her presence. Which... they actually had. Chris stood back up on the stoop, and after talking with the musician, started to sing something else.
Time to go with something she knew best, and what came from the heart.]
Still yet, I don’t know my true self
By myself, I still don’t understand...

Sing, Yukine Chris. For the glory of the god Apollo’s revolution. ]

“Something to believe in”...“Something important”
I’ve finally found it...! That’s why I’ll go forward!
This sunny spot, this warmth
This severity also this connection and everything, everything...!
To protect the place you gave to me!
[She smiles as she sings these words, looking out over the people who have assembled to hear her. For the first time, these words she sings are for them, for the Far Shore, for the place she's come to protect.]

Hibiki inclines her head, unwilling to show a reaction. But her judgment in yielding this prayer has just been proven correct. ]

Taking a deep breath, she heads back towards Hibiki.]
I enjoyed that. But... what's more important that that guy has the confidence and attention he deserves.

[ She’s smirking, though. In the smug manner of someone who’s just figured out an important fact. ]
My reassessment of you is complete.

[She raises an eyebrow at that last part.]
Oh really? Do tell.

[ And then she turns to walk away. Not disclosing what the fraction had been before.
Or that the other five eighths are making her smile - so long as Chris can’t see her. ]

[The more things change...]

[ TAKE THAT, MATH. ]
no subject
Tell me, what kind of marks did you get in math, and were the people doing the grading people who aren't on your payroll?

[ There was a time Hibiki didn’t think such improvements were possible. This is actually progress.
From one flavor of insufferability to another. ]
