Who: Chris, and you! [open post]
When: May 20th-May 30th, except for the 21st, because she busy ICly that day
Where: Both the Far and Near Shore
What: General Open Post
[Singing in the Park]
[Chris didn't know when she'd started receiving prayers like this, but it was a welcome change from the kind she usually received while playing the role of Ishtar. In this case, a young guitar player was trying to become noticed, and wished someone would come along to help him...
... and well. Chris had wanted to get out and perform in public more.
And so she was standing in the middle of the park, looking embarassed... but also singing, and with a smile on her face as the young man played accompanying music on his guitar.]
...Those times when I felt like crying, and those times when I did~
You were always there for me, "Don't lose your way," you said to me...
As you came closer and grasped my hand, You, my special someone...!
[ooc - This is technically taken from another series, but I needed something softer and which fit her character, so let's just handwave that part.]
[All work and no play make tiny god something something]
Oh come on!
[Today, Chris found herself at an arcade in the Near Shore, playing one of those Cardass type arcade machines. As it turned out, CanColle cards suffered from the same horrible distribution rates as the actual mobile game, and Chris was dead set on earning that rare, limited edition "Tommy-chan" card.]
Alright, you stupid son of a bitch, this time I'm winning that card, or you and I are going to have words.
[And so Chris shoved another yen coin into the machine, and narrowed her eyes, focusing on the gameplay... which appeared to be some weird hybrid of a strategy game, a rhythm game, and bullet hell involving anthropomorphized firearms? Somehow, it worked.
But she was determined to see this through... even if how well she did barely had a limited influence on what cards she earned.]
[Living on a prayer]
[Today? Today was about work. Chris had gone on a scouting, err, outing to gather information in advance of handling a prayer, but somehow, she'd managed to be caught unaware and was now deeply involved in a battle against an ayakashi that had been ruining a farmer's crops.
Said ayakashi looked like a very demonic, very large crow.]
Son of a bitch son of a bitch son of a bitch...!
[She'd already transformed into her gear form, but for now, she was focused on leading the enormous bird away from the populated area. Which meant running, and not being able to fight back. Continuing to curse to herself, she sent a text message to anyone she had in her social network, imploring them to see if they could come help...]
[Shopping]
[It was summer now, and Chris couldn't keep relying on all the clothes that Ginia and Irisviel had lent her. They were all more fitting for colder weather or formal occasions, and she needed something light and breezy.
So, she went out on multiple days, hitting clothing stores, malls, and shopping centers, shopping for clothes. Not just that, but things to decorate her temple. And... on several days? She'd found herself in shops she didn't normally frequent at all, like jewelry stores and shops that sold Japanese antiques. She could be found in such places, looking unsure of herself and staring hard in concentration at their wares.
She had a friend's birthday coming up after all.]

[If you want to thread with Chris but aren't feeling any of the prompts, just PM my journal and we can work something out!]

[Theft for selfish reasons is bad and Ginia's pretty sure that might come into conflict with Ebisu's domains somehow.]
Going to a shop and buying her card is the easiest form of cheating.
[Gina pauses and considers the machine again as well as the rest of the arcade.]
However, if the arcade machine needed to go under temporary maintenance for a jammed card and some cards happen to be printed as a test and were picked up, that would be a nice coincidence.

[Still, she chuckled again.]
Let's go see if any shops have her.

[Because what's to stop someone from rigging the system and only putting in a few of the event cards? Not quite random chance if there's a human element involved. That, however, is a debate and problem for a different day.]
There's a shop right around the corner with rental cases and second-hand merch across a few floors. There are a few things I'm looking for for myself and others so it seems a good place as any to start.
no subject
[Chris is pretty sure the system is rigged to begin with. Just like the actual gacha part.]
But alright, that sounds good. Let's head over there.

Ginia pauses to admire a case with a limited color variant statue of Emuniyo inside. Given the price, it's definitely more for display than for sale. She sighs wistfully as she types. Even with her salary, that's a lot to spend on one item.]
It's real cool seeing what people have. I heard there were only twenty or so of this color variant.

That's pretty nice, but also really expensive. I think I'd be blowing a month's worth of donations getting that one.

[Not any figure, mind, but still only a figure in the end. There are plenty of other cheaper figurines she could get if she wanted to start down that route.]
I wonder sometimes what kinds of people collect these things. What kind of jobs they have, the lives they lead. I wonder how they got the figure in the first place. Think they stood in line at Comiket or got it second hand?
[It's the kind of thought that veers a bit too close to wondering about the lives of the living. Did she collect things like this when she was alive? Did she play these games? There's a small frown before Ginia shakes the thought off.]
Do collect figurines back home?
no subject
[Chris actually has to think about that for a second.]
Uh. No, I never have, honestly. The only things I've ever collected is stuff in games, or CDs and manga. Tommy-chan's card is a bit outside the norm for me.
... Though I guess I wouldn't mind owning Utazukin merch, either...

[A magical girl show is a pretty good cover. Is there budget allocated for an in-house manga production team? There's an amusing thought to think about.]
Wouldn't that mean there are technically figurines of you floating around? Or at least figurines that look similar to you?
no subject
... And for that to be true, Utazukin would have to be based on me. She doesn't look a thing like me at all.

The hair and outfit, sure, but the face is definitely yours.
You'd look cute with blonde hair.

[Cue the angry huffing.]

There's a hell of a crossover.Ginia shakes her hand in a light "sorry, sorry" gesture.]
Let's get back to looking for merch. Was there anything else you wanted besides the card?
no subject
[ooc: wrap after this? I had Elfnein win the card, so we can just say they were unlucky/got something else.]
no subject
[And off they go for a nice round of shopping.]
