Hiyoko is a busy girl...

Who: Hiyoko and Nageki/ Hiyoko and Sheryl/ Hiyoko and Open
What: Talking to animals, a maybe!date, and who even knows what else.
When: The weekend of April 15th-17th
Where: Meilikki's temple, several places around the near shore, and the zoo.
Warnings: Hiyoko is weird.


Nageki-

[On Saturday, Hiyoko picked up Nageki right on time at his new god's temple. She's got her hair pulled back with a cute flower clip and made sure to wear something relatively nice. She still doesn't know if this counts as a date though, so she didn't bring flowers.

He wouldn't want flowers anyway. Do they make book bouquets? Their first stop is a little cafe where they can chat. But she does have something a little more exciting planned for later. It takes a little more effort than she likes to get somebirdie at the cafe to come take their order, but at least nobirdie will listen in on their conversation.]

I'll have a cappuccino please!

[And a big smile in Nageki's direction.]

Order whatever you want, okay?


Sheryl-

[Finally, a chance to show off her magnificent palace! It's got so many wonderful features her glorious abode back home lacked. Like an actual door.

Yeah, Sheryl may be a little disappointed to discover that this 'palace' is actually a rustic hunting lodge. It's very well crafted though, as befits a goddess of the hunt. And the view overlooking the expanse of rocky wilderness is impressive. Considering Hiyoko used to live in an actual cave, this is definitely a step up. And since Sheryl wanted to meet some animals, she's got one of the bears up here and also a wood grouse. They can find an elk later if she wants to chat with one. Or if she's hungry. Hiyoko is determined to be a good hostess.]

Hi! Welcome to Mielikki-land!

[That's... probably not it's official name. Hiyoko waves cheerfully. The bear copies her after she nudges it.]


Open-

[So after a certain conversation, Hiyoko is curious about what her newfound powers could be used for. And whether animals in the zoo enjoy their lazy but uninteresting lifestyle. So on Sunday, she's taking some time to visit the local zoo and find out for herself. Which means it's a good thing people don't notice her. Because she sure is just sitting in front of one of the cages, deep in conversation with a tiger. If Kija does decide to tag along, they can totally hit up the bear enclosure though.]

I mean, security is a thing I completely understand. Nobody wants to go hungry. But, c'mon, be honest. Don't you ever miss stalking your helpless prey though the jungle?

[Anybirdie is welcome to bother her. If you... actually want to talk to the crazy girl.]

[The hand on her forehead is so unexpected that she just freezes up. After a moment, she laughs awkwardly.]

Whaaat? That's crazy talk! I never get sick.

[Oh man he did something wrong? His hand shoots back returning to his side.]

[She turns away, one hand fiddling nervously with a strand off hair.]

No, it's fine.

[Ugh so awkward.... Is this a date? If she feels this flustered maybe it is. Mental note: never ask a guy out without checking whether you've.... asked him out.

Mental note: Further mental notes should try harder to make sense.

Maybe some small talk would help.]

[Inwardly he's panicking so much. This was actually pleasant once he got out to it, and he's done something weird. Maybe he shouldn't ask himself what Sora would do when Sora routinely makes him uncomfortable, but she seems similar to him.

Why is this so hard. Outward, he looks apathetic as always.]

Well it's not too cold. And it isn't raining. That's... always good.

[The weather? Really? Was that really the best she could do? She looks around. There must be something else on this street that they can talk about. Let's see....

That dog is sort of cute. And over there is a movie theater. And an arcade. She does pause to look at the crane game full of cute plushies outside the arcade. It's weird to think that some things are so universal that they'll show up across dimension.]

[His eyes follow her line of sight. It pauses the train of mild panic in his mind.]

Of course! Nothing like a test of skill to get the blood pumping.

[Of course there are many people who would argue that these games are nothing like a test of skill. But whatever. She'd been looking for a subject change anyway.]

Do you want me to win you a prize?

[You know, he's never done anything like this before, but it still seems a little backward.]

If you want to play, you should play. You seem excited about it.

[She looks at the game for a moment, considering.]

Sure! Why not? Which one do you want?

[She's pointing at the pile of adorable toys.]

Isn't there one you'd like?

Well.... yeah. Some of them are cute.

But I'm getting this one for you. So you should pick out one you like!

[This is weird for him. He doesn't get it. Is he supposed to really like one?

It's not that he dislikes them, but he doesn't really have an opinion.

... He points to one that isn't very cute by normal standards.]

[It's really not cute at all. But somehow that suits him. She grins and rolls up her sleeves.]

You got it! Prepare to face the spirit of a true hunter gatherer!

[That last part was clearly directed at the game. Which is obviously very intimidated. Coins go in and the game lights up. Hiyoko starts very carefully nudging the joystick. Almost... almost....

Such tension...]

[He raises an eyebrow. Hiyoko, you're a very interesting girl.]

... I'm not sure this is the best representation of a hunter/gatherer society.

[Almoooost theeere.... She has it in the claw....]

Huh? Why n-Ack! Oh no!

[She got distracted and the prize tragically tumbles back down onto the pile.]

Oh. Did I distract you?

Ugh...

[omg obviously!! But she's not letting a little thing like this discourage her.]

No, it's fine! There's no way I'm letting this crane defeat me.

[She punctuates that by pounding one fist into her palm and then fishes in her pocket for more coins.]

[Nageki will go into his pocket. Half for his phone for a distraction so he can let her try the game in peace, half to pull out the coin she'd need, offering it to her.]

I won't say anything this time.

[She looks at the coin in surprise, then grins.]

Thanks! Just leave this to me.

[The coin goes into the slot and this time her patience is rewarded with sweet victory. It also helps that her earlier attempt moved the toy into a better position. Hiyoko punches one fist into the air triumphantly as the toy tumbles into the plastic compartment.]

Hah! Gotcha!
