Hiyoko is a busy girl...

What: Talking to animals, a maybe!date, and who even knows what else.

Where: Meilikki's temple, several places around the near shore, and the zoo.
Warnings: Hiyoko is weird.


Nageki-

[On Saturday, Hiyoko picked up Nageki right on time at his new god's temple. She's got her hair pulled back with a cute flower clip and made sure to wear something relatively nice. She still doesn't know if this counts as a date though, so she didn't bring flowers.

He wouldn't want flowers anyway. Do they make book bouquets? Their first stop is a little cafe where they can chat. But she does have something a little more exciting planned for later. It takes a little more effort than she likes to get somebirdie at the cafe to come take their order, but at least nobirdie will listen in on their conversation.]

I'll have a cappuccino please!

[And a big smile in Nageki's direction.]

Sheryl-

[Finally, a chance to show off her magnificent palace! It's got so many wonderful features her glorious abode back home lacked. Like an actual door.

Yeah, Sheryl may be a little disappointed to discover that this 'palace' is actually a rustic hunting lodge. It's very well crafted though, as befits a goddess of the hunt. And the view overlooking the expanse of rocky wilderness is impressive. Considering Hiyoko used to live in an actual cave, this is definitely a step up. And since Sheryl wanted to meet some animals, she's got one of the bears up here and also a wood grouse. They can find an elk later if she wants to chat with one. Or if she's hungry. Hiyoko is determined to be a good hostess.]

Hi! Welcome to Mielikki-land!

[That's... probably not it's official name. Hiyoko waves cheerfully. The bear copies her after she nudges it.]

[So after a certain conversation, Hiyoko is curious about what her newfound powers could be used for. And whether animals in the zoo enjoy their lazy but uninteresting lifestyle. So on Sunday, she's taking some time to visit the local zoo and find out for herself. Which means it's a good thing people don't notice her. Because she sure is just sitting in front of one of the cages, deep in conversation with a tiger. If Kija does decide to tag along, they can totally hit up the bear enclosure though.]

I mean, security is a thing I completely understand. Nobody wants to go hungry. But, c'mon, be honest. Don't you ever miss stalking your helpless prey though the jungle?

[Anybirdie is welcome to bother her. If you... actually want to talk to the crazy girl.]

That's true. He's never been to the jungle, so at least he can't miss it.

[She looks down at the tiger, who is still watching them curiously.]

But it is sort of sad at the same time. Too bad he couldn't just visit the jungle. Like a vacation.

[ Konzen suddenly feels something heavy in his chest. Is that what it was like for Goku? Shut away in a cave for five hundred years, not knowing why? Never having memories anything else in the world, not knowing what it is he was missing? ]

Maybe...

[ He says, with a touch of sadness in his voice. The tiger seems to be looking at them with an almost thoughtful expression. Konzen wonders if animals usually look this way. He's never been this close to one, before. ]

It looks kind of boring, in there.

Yeah, we did talk about that a little bit. A lot of the animals here would like it if they could get out more. Just to have something to do.

[Not that a zoo could really do that. The tiger is still watching the conversation with interest. These are the most fascinating visitors he's ever had.]

But I kinda think the zookeepers would notice if we just let a bunch of animals out.

[She said as if it were obvious.]

And I talked to a lot of the other animals too. You should meet the capybaras! One of them is hilarious.

[ Weirdly enough, this doesn't sound entirely implausible to him, and he's not sure why. (Maybe because he already has a monkey?) Part of it is the fact that he feels some kind of resonance with the animals, too. It's not exactly words, but more like empathy. ]

What is a capybara...?

The capybara is the noble King of the Rodents!

[Or... something like that. The dramatic pose was completely necessary.]

They're also really cute.

[The tiger makes a huffing noise. It may not agree with her assessment.]

[ Konzen snorts. ]

He doesn't agree.

[ He glances around the place. From their vantage point, he can see pretty far ahead, so many enclosures with different kinds of animals locked up inside. He can almost feel their confinement. ]

There are so many different animals...

[She laughs.]

Well, he probably just thinks they look delicious.

[She notices him looking out over the enclosures.]

Was there an animal you wanted to meet? I could help you find them.

[ Delicious? Hm. Well, Konzen's never eaten an animal before in his life, but he supposes they do that, in the wild. Some do, anyway. ]

I'm not sure what else is here, [ he says rather honestly. Animals, zoos, mortal world stuff in general, this is all very new to him. ]

Monkeys?

[ That almost seems ... wrong.

And yet, he's curious. What sort of monkeys? Much as they used to call Goku one, Konzen has never actually seen a real monkey before. ]

Sure! Spider monkeys, howler monkeys, those little fluffy monkeys I don't remember the name of... all kinds.

[She means tamarins.]

[ Monkey house sounds somewhat horrifying and fascinating at the same time. Konzen finds himself agreeing, for some wild reason. ]

[ Excuse Konzen, he doesn't know what that means in this context...? Maybe because he's as yet unaware that gods actually acquire powers (aside from teleport, anyway).

He follows along toward the monkey house, all the while taking in the sights (and smells...ugh) of the animals around them. ]

Yeah, you know... for god powers. I mean I could have gotten something boring or tough to control.

[The smell doesn't bother her in the least. She's too used to wild animals.]

You mean, in addition to teleporting? Do all gods get something else?

[ Somehow it doesn't feel all that weird to be asking someone so much younger about things. Konzen's always been kind of lacking in information, but that's because he never asked questions before. ]
