Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.







Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

[ What the hell bro, she was cleaning here first?! IS THIS SOME WEIRD GOD/SHINKI RITUAL AND NOW THEY MUST DUEL OVER THE TERRITORY TO CLEAN?!

IS THIS BATTLE ROYALE WITH BLEACH AND WINDEX?!

So many questions, so little time. And now she has a mop in her face. ] E--- excuse me--!? [ She's more baffled than upset though. She doesn't know what just happened. ]

—Ah!

[Souma pauses in brandishing his mop weapon to pull it back towards himself, startled. A bit of color flushes into his cheeks, and he quickly bows his head in apology.] Please forgive me! I was so determined to fight off the filth in every room I could find that I did not think someone could possibly be here fighting this battle with me!

Are you hurt?

[miraculo]

[ ...Ah. Now she understands. It's a battle not between them, but against all that is dirty and soiled! ] --No, not at all.

In fact-- quite the opposite! [ She grins, putting a hand on her hip proudly. And with her other one, she points confidently at him. ] Because you and I-- we think alike. Tackling each and every room to ensure that the heavens are cleaned, ensureing that each and every spot is-- er, spotless! Polishing every corner, sweeping up every inch of dust, and organizing everything alphabetically and by color in each room...! [ Okay maybe that last bit is a bit excessive, but she continues: ]

If you will join me-- [ She holds out her broom to him. ] Together, we will fight against this dirt! This is a battle of the gods...! [ Sanae might have missed the entire memo. ]

[His shoulders relax considerably when he realizes that he hasn't harmed this girl. In fact, she goes on to speak with such confidence that he's completely captivated, in a way...! Slowly, a determined grin falls into place on his own face.]

Such words are truly inspiring! Yes, it is true that I am doing my best to play my part in this war against dust and dirt. While I may not understand much, I believe that this much is clear!

[He reaches out to grab the end of that broom, even if he's still holding a mop in his other hand.] This enemy must be defeated!

[ You see, she's actually not so bold like this all the time. It's because she's been told she's an actual, proper god now that she feels she must speak in such ways...! Or at least tries to! Her cover will slip. Eventually.

But hey, she's having fun. ] I swear upon this broom, that no room will go unclean, that no web will remain intact, that that all dustmites will rue the day they decided to claim a god's territory [ Read: corner of a closet in a big-ass temple. ] as their home! [ She returns that determined look, holding onto that broom with his as if it were a spear.

Also is she glowing? She's totally glowing. A shining, pure light comes off her skin because such declarations call for it! ] General Custodian [ <-- that would be him, by the way. ] Let us waste no more time! We must reclaim this temple within the hour, or our honor will be lost! [ Ie, meet me back in a few. ]

By General Custodian, did you mean me?!

[He's sort of stunned by this talk, himself, even if he is motivated. But he stays alert, reaching for his bucket of supplies the moment she mentions honor.]

Honor is something I cannot lose, no matter what! Please wait for me, miss, and I will help to clean this temple as quickly as I can!

[He doesn't waste any time to just take off. He'll be back in an hour, completely exhausted because he has cleaned everything completely...]

[miraculo]

[ AND OFF SHE GOES, TOO.

One hour later, she returns to their meeting spot, collapsing upon the ground. ] .....That... was a tough battle. [ Look at her, trying to remain noble even though cleaning an entire temple in one hour was exhausting!!

But. Although exhausted, she smiles warmly at him. To think she would have such an ally! ] Well done.

It is thanks to your inspiring words that I was hit by a sudden rush of energy! Thanks to that, this temple was cleaned far more quickly than I expected. I had the aid of a commendable warrior indeed.

[He's still managing to stay standing, though that was a lot of work! And how many temples has he cleaned by now? It's a mystery, but he bows to this stranger sincerely.]

It is my place to thank you!

[ Kyaaaa, such praise! She feels important! Like she did a good deed! Look how she preens.

But she bows right back to him, too. ] Oh, but this couldn't have been done without your talent, General Custodian. [ <-- That's still him, by the way. ] You've worked long and hard, and your efforts have paid off.

I now declare this place.... [ Drum roll, please! ] Clean!

[Clean! The word hands in the air as Souma glances around them. Sure enough, everything is sparkling... Souma is very proud.]

While my heart continues to beat this fast and hurts my chest, I should move on to the next temple. There is so much more to clean... I am glad to have helped this place.

[miraculo]

I guess this is where I'll leave you, General Custodian. [ <-- Still him by the way.

She smiles kindly, placing the broom over her shoulder. ] May you have many more victories in your endeavor. I know you can succeed. [ But then she steps up to him, placing a hand over her chest. ] But... if you ever are in need of my help, just pray to my name: Sanae Kochiya, god of miracles. And I'll be there wherever you wish.

[ Or if he wishes for tacos to rain down from the sky. Because miracles. ]

Kochiya-dono's words are very kind.

[A god...? He's not sure, she looks like a normal girl. But then, he has no idea what's going on at all.] I will be sure that she has not misplaced them. Continuing forth with my victories, I will spread "cleanliness!"

[miraculo]

[ She's.... not sure what's spurning her to do this, but. She offers her hand to him, palm up. And then a little charm appears floating right in the center of it. It's in the shape of a green tree frog, and it glows with traces of her power. ] A blessing of protection. I don't... know if you might need it, General. You're strong enough as it is. [ More praise! She hopes he feels pride in himself-- he deserves it. She doesn't even know if he's a shinki or a god, but he deserve such compliments! ]

But please keep it with you, in the meantime. [ It will protect him from a single attack and then shatter. ]

[Oh... oh!! All at once, Souma's expression changes into something much softer. Carefully, his hands cup around the little frog so he can accept it. It's so cute... It's so cute!! He feels emotion welling up inside of him over this little frog!

Also, he desperately needs a charm like this in his life.]

Kochiya-dono... For me? If this is your gift, then I will treasure it with my entire heart. Thank you.

[miraculo]

[ On Sanae's part, she feels glad that she's, you know, HELPFUL to someone! Plus he's a good kid, just from how hard he's worked to clean this temple. Of course he deserve a charm of protection! ] I hope you won't ever find yourself in a situation that you'll need to use it.

[ Hm. She should be more respectful, too. ] ...What's your name? [ She can't keep on calling him General Custodian all the time. Or can she?! ]

Souma Kanzaki, at your service.

[Well, not really at her service, but he thinks it sounds nice all the same! He'll be cleaning in her name, for now, since he has no idea what else to do. For now, he tucks this little frog somewhere safe in his outfit.]

[miraculo]

Kanzaki-san.... [ She repeats, and then as if finally noticing his outfit-- she realizes that his entirely personality, his determination, his work ethic-- it fits.

He must be (or have been) a samurai in his life before coming here! ] I'm honored to make your acquaintance, and will remember the day we defeated all the filth and dirt on these sacred temple grounds.

[ But now is the time for them to part! Because they both have responsibilities, and their talents can both be used to benefit the most elsewhere. ] Please, take care. And don't hesitate to ask if you need help.
