Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.







Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

[It's hard to ignore all that slamming. Despite Roxas' best efforts, he's certainly not muffling the noise, and it's attracting the attention of one shinki.

Grudge be damned. Riku's soon quickly beside Roxas and bracing the door with his own weight. All the blonde gets is a sharp look.]

What the hell did you do?

[missingache]

[Oh great the last person Roxas wants to see here. He moves just an inch from the door to yell at Riku till a particularly hard slam almost sends him falling forward. He lets out a squeak and his back is against the door again.]

I was trying to clean! It's not my fault there's something locked in there!

[... the broken lock is right by their feet. It used to be locked. That counts?]

[darkbreak]

[For gods' sake Roxas, put your ridiculous dislike for him aside for one moment. He's trying to help you here.

(Although hearing the squeak coming out of him was kind of hilarious).]

Maybe you should have stuck to cleaning smaller things and not unmarked doors.

[Some of these gods have crazy questionable tastes. Jeeze.]

[missingache]

[Like he needs a lecture from you.]

Just shut up and help me figure out what to do!

[A chunk of the door explodes, three very large and white claws sticking out from the holes they created. They wiggle out of sight as the owner of said claws roars in displeasure. Roxas at that very moment is glad he's shorter than Riku. Claws through the head does not make a good day.]

That was way too close... Wait! I can fight it!

[darkbreak]

[Too bad, blonde. You're getting one right now.

Riku's eyes widen when the claws come right through, and if Roxas hadn't moved in time, he probably would have pushed the younger god away. As much as Riku is confused as to why Roxas seems to hate him, he still doesn't want him to get hurt.

He pushes against the door a little harder, so that if the god needs some space, he can let go.]

What are you waiting for!

[missingache]

I'm getting there!

[Roxas takes a few steps away from the door to summon his Keyblades. This might be only temporary solution as he taps the door with one of them to lock it. This doesn't slow down the monster on the other side. It's just getting more vicious in tearing down the door, letting out frustrated howls.]

Back away from the door! If you don't have a weapon, run! I got this.

[darkbreak]

[Forgive him if he stares a bit too long at those weapons, Roxas. They look a little too similar to his own weapon form, with slight differences of course. Those can't be his shinki so... what are they really? What is he?


Locking it hasn't done anything, but Riku does back away door. But that's as far as he goes, standing beside Roxas as well.]

Yeah, not going to happen. You're still going to need back-up.

[missingache]

You're not my shinki and I've fought bigger things than whatever is-

[Roxas gasps, using his boosted up speed to push Riku away and dodges a rather sharp projectile that is now wedged in the wall behind them.

Why is this familiar?]

Don't get hit! They gotta be poisonous!

[darkbreak]

[It's true and he knows it, at least for the shinki part. But somehow it's the way that Roxas says it that actually makes him bristle, sending a short but sharp glare in the blonde's direction as he regains his footing.

...Poisonous? How does he know? Maybe it doesn't matter, but they will have to be careful.

Yup, they. Because he doesn't care that this isn't his god, he's staying put. And when the creature throws a fistful of claws out of the door again, he fires off a couple of dark firagas at it, burning the skin and causing it to shriek out.] You've fought this before?

[missingache]

No, but there were monsters like this in the forest of Koriko. It's gotta be a manticore!

[Which means watch out for the tail. The rest of it too, of course.

But what was it doing in a locked room? The gods who were here before them must have had a reason. Riku seems to have magic on his side, but does Roxas want to dare open the door, or what was left of it?

The wood splinters rather badly, something that looked like a lion but with a rather human face with sharp long teeth trying to push itself through.]

Aim for the mane! [If that can catch on fire, it might become rather distracted. Roxas can try and strike then.]

[darkbreak]

[Maybe some morbid god was trying to tame one. There must be something about saying "hey, I have a manticore for a pet" that's impressive.

Whatever. It's there problem now. Thanks, Heavens. This is an awfully fun chore.

They might not have much choice right now. That lion monster wants out and the door, despite the lock, isn't going to hold out for much longer. But at least it'll be enough for Riku to get a little closer. He may not having super speed, but if he needs to aim a little more precisely, he'll have to be quick and get close.]

Got it. [And with that he moves, fast on his feet, and launches a volley of fireballs near the neck.]

[missingache]

[Roxas waits for the right moment. He gets it when the mane catches on fire and the beast goes berserk. This might seem suicidal as he runs at the door to unlock it. It gives easily when done, the manticore falling forward, stunning itself in the process.

It's at this moment Roxas wishes he remember how to use that weird light beam attack he used against a Kraken.

Jumping back, Roxas lands beside Riku.]

When I say go, throw your strongest magic spell at it!

[Ready..... Set..... Look who is getting up now?] Go!

[darkbreak]

[Riku watches carefully as the other boy leaps forward, fireball ready in his hand to use as cover. As much as he may not like Roxas, or vise versa, he doesn't exactly want him to get hurt.

There's something preventing him from wanting that...

Once Roxas has his feet on the ground, Riku turns up the magic, larger fireballs in both hands now. He doesn't like the idea of taking orders from this kid, but he wasn't going to leave him earlier and he's not about to do it now.

So at the go, there's a volley of fireballs headed right for the manticore's face, front paws, mane, you name it.]

[missingache]

[Waiting a few second, Roxas takes off towards the monster again. The distraction of having it on fire was a great. Roxas is a multi-hitter anyways, so with high speed added, the manticore has a much harder time reacting to the hits.

He has to skid to a stop once the barrage is done. There's gotta be a better way to slow down without hitting a wall again.]

...... I think we got it....

[The beast certainly isn't moving at the moment.]

[darkbreak]

[Without a weapon of his own, Riku couldn't do much more than be a distraction, hurling dark fireballs at the beast whenever he gets a little too close to Roxas or thinks about striking either of them. A part of him wishes he could do more, but he has to remind himself that he's no god. This is the best he can do and he'll have to settle for that.

There's one last dark firaga in his hand as he keeps a keen eye on the manticore.]

...Good job.

[He might not be looking at Roxas, but that compliment is definitely directed at him.]

[missingache]

[It's dead. Very dead. Good teamwork, guys!

Roxas was about to say something when he stops dead. Did... Riku just compliment him? That's... Roxas doesn't intend to, but he goes into panic mode. Which leads to irritation.]

Of course I did a good job! Why wouldn't I?

[Thank you would have better. He turns on his heel, stares at Riku, and doesn't say anything for a few minutes.]

You did okay. But this doesn't mean I like you. [He turns towards the door and walks right out.]

[darkbreak]

[He... just...

...What?

"Thank you" would have been incredibly better. "Thank you" would have been normal, but apparently someone can't be normal.

Riku just watches Roxas stalk right off with a confused raise of the brow. What the fuck is his problem? So he complimented a competent fighter. That doesn't mean that Riku likes him either.

Maybe he's expecting an insult or something? WHO KNOWS.

But once the blonde is gone, Riku only sighs and turns around to glance at the manticore's body. Great. So they neutralized the threat, but what he is supposed to do with this now?]

Great job handling a mess you made.
