007 | Clean Up Your Act

Who: Everyone!
What: Spring cleaning
When: All day April 15
Where: All around the Heavens
Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.

Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

[He likes to think he knows when a man's relaxed! But alright, he'll just hum like it's a real mystery as he draws his finger across all of the keys in a nice run.] Try a bit yourself, then.

[Don't judge him, he hears that. Since he can't pass up a pointless piano challenge, though, he plucks out the same chord again, while reaching past Jae-Ha's other hand to try and invent a sequence that goes with this chord and doesn't sound like a dying animal.

He has never played the piano before today. How is he doing???]

Don't be so hesitant! You're on the right track.

[~~He's doing a lot better than Yona would.~~ It doesn't sound like dying animals, even if it's not exactly musical genius. It's encouraging all the same! Jae-Ha loves this sort of thing, so he happily leans to re-press Hazel's fingers on the chord keys. He lets his other hand hover over Hazel's other before pressing some of those notes that had sounded pretty nice— but he does them a little faster. You know, more melody to it.]

Something like... that? [Embrace creativity, Hazel.]

[Ah, more help- Not a method he would have expected, but he's fine with it. He hums, a noncommittal noise not at all related to the music, and tries to mimic again what Jae-Ha is doing. He doesn't have a creative bone in his body, unfortunately...]

This ain't exactly up my alley. I was better at sports when I was a boy.

[Excuses, honestly, but not false ones!]

[Not everyone's a musician. Hmm, but in a way, that tells him his own place with instruments even more. His hands slide back, touching to the piano just beneath the keys as he laughs.]

This is a talent that blooms from the heart, not skill! [He has that feeling, at least.] But perhaps you're more suited to being serenaded than serenading. Could I play one more song?

[Alright, alright. He pulls his hands back from the keys, holding them up as if in defeat.]

My heart ain't right for it either, then. [Maybe if he weren't so bitter. Never mind that when he's getting serenaded again, though.] Play anythin' ya want.

[Jae-Ha won't bother him with any further commentary on Hazel not being suited to or wanting to play more music. He doesn't mind either way, after all. He can have fun playing on his own. So, that's what he'll do, taking advantage of this piano here to quietly play another song. This one's less romantic and a lot more nostalgic and sad, but it suits him somehow, and it's all good music.

He lets the last note linger fairly long before pulling his hands to his lap.]

I haven't put you to sleep, have I? I got so into it, that one was a bit longer than it should have been.

[One day this man will learn how to play something happy, good god. Hazel listens, watching his hands at first. By the end of the song he's shifted on the bench, leaning his elbow on the very very edge of the piano, away from the keys - he will lean on this piano however he wants, it's his - to watch Jae-Ha's face instead. This guy, his sad songs and his feelings all over the place just from that... Hazel would probably be wise to stop thinking about it.

But he's not very wise, and anyway, he's still looking at Jae-Ha without even trying to make it seem like he hasn't been for a good couple minutes.]

Music's easy to follow, even if I can't make any of my own. There's plenty to appreciate. [so........... nice] You're a talented young man.

[He doesn't react to the staring at all, but the compliment catches him so off guard that he can't even properly tsun at it. His surprise is visible for all of a second before he laughs lightly and looks back at the piano.]

What do you think? Is this where you want it? We've both discovered something about ourselves today. [Smiling, he presses his own hands together in a soft, single clap.] You could redecorate without breaking a sweat!

Hazel smirks - he's not blind, he can the way Jae-Ha doesn't know what to do for that briefest moment, because he's so smooth - and picks himself up off the piano with a short sigh. It's a good sigh, probably. This hasn't been a disaster.]

It doesn't look half bad, with the big window right there behind it. Which I'll take to shuttin' up tight, by the way, if ya forget to use the door when ya stop by.

[Since he's going to... Use the stairs like a person.]

It's not as if I'm incapable of using doors, but when you say it like that, it makes me want to show up at the window even more...

[Don't tempt him. He'll do this. He turns to face the opposite way on the piano bench before standing.]

How did you manage to wind up with such a large temple, anyway? I'm almost jealous. [He doesn't really mind their small beach house at all thanks to the company, but he'll pretend he's this shallow.]

What manner of deal with the devil does a man have to make to see that his front door's given a chance?

[This guy! Hazel gives him one last look as he stands, and thinks about his weirdly huge house. Well, he totally deserves a house this Rich, but it's too big for him...

He'll think about that later! More importantly!] Don't ask, in case they change their minds. I haven't had time to see the whole thing, myself- wanna go for the grand tour?

If your door is exceptionally pretty, I'll use it now and then.

[Maybe if Hazel didn't make appearing at the window so tempting, this wouldn't be an issue! Instead, it's a grab bag, and Jae-Ha loves leaving it at that. A tour, though, now that's exciting. He quickly floats over to his side.]

How could I say no? Lead the way! Let's have a look. Tell me what you plan to do with the place.

[Give him the deets, show it off, let's see it!]

I'll doll it up for ya if I get the time. C'mon.

[He may or may not put a wreath on the door now, a really nice one. Anyway, the big house tour begins with the absurdly large number of bedrooms on the second floor alone, with Hazel's aside that the smaller third floor is mostly just master bed-and-bath. This house is really big?? And he really hasn't explored the whole place yet, so a good 2/3 of this tour is Hazel being surprised by all the fancy stuff in here.

Because it's all very fancy. Excessively so. Except for the weirdly rustic kitchen and the cozy porch swing, it's decadent. Eventually he stops in one of the sitting rooms, putting his hands on his hips and staring at a floor to ceiling window like it's just taking it too far.]

All said and done, this much stuff is primed to make me restless.

[Please put up a wreath. He'll laugh for ten minutes before knocking and he'll be flattered! So, clearly a good way to make him use the door.]

How elaborate all of this is. Now there's no way you can see my own god's temple. [Not that he'd invite any of his friends to the house of purity, anyway.] Is the space too much? I know! You should throw parties very often. Some good use will help these rooms.

[He will put up a fucking wreath in April or whatever month it is now. He will.]

I've gotta meet more acquaintances before I'll have enough people to fill the whole house. [Or close enough, whatever. It's huge, that's the point.] What's wrong with your god's place?

Oh, that shouldn't be too hard. You've got the sort of personality that anyone would like!

[Who could dislike this good looking guy?? Jae-Ha doesn't know. So.] As for my god's place, how should I put this... It's very cozy, a little quaint. It's the exact opposite of your mansion here.

[He's just being tsun though, he really doesn't mind...]

[What the fuck, don't be sweet at him. He's beautiful and popular, he knows!! but stop...]

I'm not cozy an' quaint enough, am I? Is this because of how terribly unfortunate I am on the piano?

[backflips away from sweet talk and lowkey jealousy about cozy house with jokes]

[He chuckles at that, flipping his ponytail over his shoulder.]

Now, I didn't mean anything like that. It's just that I'd much rather share a couch with you than a room that's large enough to fit thirty couches. The amount of space would be freeing if not for the walls.

[So it's just contradictory! It makes things feel empty. That's clear, right?? He's not going to rub it in, so he'll leave it at that.]

Maybe you should add some personal touches.

[Okay, but Jae-Ha also took him to a department store last time, which is not cozy at all!!]

I'll put up some screens. Here, tell me what ya think of this— ["This" evidently is Hazel turning on his heel and backing up away from Jae-Ha, so he can watch him hold his hands up in a frame shape.] Above the big stairs, right when ya come in, can't miss it - a portrait of me tall enough to stack three of me up against.

[is he serious]

[Jae-Ha turns a little slower to look up at the view of the stairs.

........... Well, it is Hazel's temple. And yet, still weird.]

Why stop at one? You could have a framed portrait of yourself in each room. [Another long pause as Jae-Ha continues to contemplate whether Hazel is serious or not.]

Tell me you have other ideas for personal touches.

I'm considerin' it! [Does he mean tiny portraits or other personal touches?? Who knows. The kitchen is already weirdly rustic but what if the whole house looked more like an old country town...

Or, like, more stuff with his face on it.]

Don't tell me it's too much for ya now, when I'm already thinkin' about it.

[He covers his mouth with a loosely curled hand. Does he mean tiny portraits? This is a mind game like no other. Jae-Ha kind of loves it.]

It's not that your face is a bad one, but should you really put it out there so blatantly? At least let your acquaintances work for it. Fill a single room on a higher level with them, instead.

[He thinks this is solid advice.]

[His face is stunning, thank you.]

Ya got ideas, but one wrong turn when a man's tryin' to find the restroom at unholy hours of the mornin' and that room becomes more alarmin' than it's meant to be.

[He can admit this about so many of his own face staring down at intruders. He is, of course, imagining these are all the exact same portrait. Details.]

[Okay, that is a hilarious image, he has to admit. He laughs, leaning forward just enough to rest his hand on Hazel's shoulder as he does.]

You have a point! [He won't bring up that he doesn't think using the restroom is something anyone has to do anymore because he's honestly not sure if that applies to gods... Hmm.] Would you prefer them hidden, in the back of cabinets? That just seems a waste.
