Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.







Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

[Sora looks over at Sheryl and with the rice ball in his mouth he garbles,] What? Is there something on my face?

[He chuckles next, because he knew he probably looked like a dirty street rat, but they all kind of did. He shrugs at her and then goes to sit down next to her, scooting his chair closer with a squeak against the floor. Then smiling sweetly he rests his head on her shoulder.]

You should try to eat a little, today was hard work! [Queue sleepy yawn.]

[galactically]

[Even with Sora using her shoulder as his headrest, Sheryl tips her head a little to give him a small pout. Enjoy her hair, for it's super soft like a pillow.]

I'll go ahead and eat later, okay?

[Or maybe not later, just a few minutes. In any case, she reaches over to brush the smudge away from his cheek.]

Geez, you're really messy! You must've been working hard, right?

[oathkeeper]

[It IS really super soft like a pillow. But before he can be content to nap there he mourns the loss of it as Sheryl reaches to rub his cheek. He sits up and shuts one eye as she does so.

He grins.] I'm pretty sure I did the most cleaning out of everyone today.

[It's not a competition, Sora...] What a weird thing to go for the heavens though. You'd think they'd have some sort of magic to do all this stuff.

[galactically]

[Despite how messy he looks, Sora still manages to look cute in Sheryl's eyes. She releases a small laugh from his answer, giving him a wink.]

Oh, I'm not sure. I think I found someone who might just be your competition.

[A boy who looks like Alto but with a very soft demeanor.]

They're lazy and want us to do aaaaaall the dirty work for them!

[oathkeeper]

Wua?! No way I don't believe you. I'll have to do some more work today then! [He laughs too, giving a lazy shrug. He was literally exhausted. His entire body ached from all the work today. He was glad they were almost done.]

That's pretty rude, if you ask me. We already work so hard and they make us do all this too! What a pain...

[Yawnnnnn.]

Well I guess it's better than what happened at the school.

[galactically]

Now don't go around and become obsessed with mopping every single temple floor like that guy, Sora!

[She wags a finger playfully at his direction in a mock stern of disapproval. Not that he strikes her as the type, but he's also proven to be filled of surprises.

An exasperated puff of breath then comes out of Sheryl to go with her scowl.]

Well, I don't expect 100% competency for that annoying group, anyway, if they won't even pick up a broom. [As for the school...] Don't even get me started on those ugly cube monsters! How disgusting.

[oathkeeper]

[Sora pats the table top dramatically and jokes,] But I have to be the best!

[He reaches up to start brushing the mess from his hair, rustling up his spikes even more so.]

They were so gross! I got goop all stuck to my shoulder! It was crap!

[Really, they should boycott the next "task".]

[galactically]

Like no one ever was?

[Can Sora beat Souma in a mopping competition? Only in Sheryl's imagination. She nods in agreement, making a disgusted face.]

I had to use up almost all of my shampoo just to get rid of the goo from my hair! Absolutely unacceptable!

[oathkeeper]

To clean is my real test. To make this place sparkle is my cause!

[Sora snorts and laughs. One thing that he enjoys doing with Sheryl was complaining with her. They always seem to be on the same page about the same stuff. He feels like it makes them bond like that.]

Right! My shoulder was sticky forever! I thought it was never going to come off! But luckily you got it out of your hair, that woulda been bad if you had to cut it out.

[galactically]

Sparkle?

[And they say complaining does nothing. Sora and Sheryl can prove those people wrong, then! There are spurts of laughter coming out of Sheryl, clutching a hand on her cheek. Talking to Sora like this is so much fun when he makes her laugh.]

Can you imagine? Me with short hair? And you with a sticky shoulder? That just won't do. Impossible!

[oathkeeper]

[Sora makes a serious face.] Yes. I’m Mr. Sparkle.

[He breaks into a smile a second later.]

Anyway, how has your day been going aside from working your butt off?

[galactically]

Boring cleaning duties aside, I've been as you always see me. Really good.

[Her smile falters for a moment as she shakes her head, huffing.]

I had the misfortune of dealing with annoying newcomers, but they're not worth mentioning.

[oathkeeper]

[Annoying newcomers? Him too. One, anyway.]

Wanna swap annoying stories?

[galactically]

[Aww yes, time for shitstirring.]

You go first, Sora.

[oathkeeper]

[Sora sighs.] Just a guy from my home world showed up here. He's a shinki that can't remember anything so I guess it's not so bad but he was a real jerk to me. I'm gonna try to avoid him!

[galactically]

A real jerk, hmm?

[Her lips purse together to form a thin frown.]

Was he a terrible bully? How unacceptable!

[oathkeeper]

Yeahhhh. But what’s worse is he ended up as my god-father Leo’s shinki. I don’t know how to feel about it! I really don’t want it to ruin my friendship with him! It’s mega awkward!

[Seriously, the guy that literally kidnapped his best friend is now serving as shinki to his god-father. Worse situation ever.]

[galactically]

My, this sounds very complicated, if that man got paired up with someone you dislike personally.

[Very, very awkward. She shakes her head with a slow and gentle exhale.]

If he's an understanding man at all, you should at least tell him that you'll be avoiding that bully.

[oathkeeper]

Hmm, Yeah. [Sora nods,] I guess it's better if I just stay out of the way.

Anyway, what about you?

[galactically]

[Brace yourself, Sora. This might turn long.]

Remember your potential competitor in cleanliness? He's a pretty boy who's otherwise cute, proper, and harmless. [Sheryl's quick to scowl.] But he's also incredibly annoying and thick-headed. He waved his mop in my face, called me a banshee, and then tried to stab himself with his sword!

[She rubs the pinch of her nose, sighing loudly.]

Well, I can give him points for apologizing, but I must warn you, Sora. He will try to over-exhaust himself like an idiot!

[Her scowl deepens.]

But that glasses-wearing, slave-driving idiot... that man is the worst!

[oathkeeper]

[Sora reaches up to pat Sheryl sympathetically on the back.]

Well at least he said sorry for being a jerk! But why the heck did he want to stab himself with his sword...?

[Because that was kinda weird.]

He shouldn’t try to work so hard that he exhausts himself, that’s stupid! Did you manage to get him to take it easy?

[galactically]

It's his disturbing way of trying to make amends. That boy isn't right!

[She'll never forget Souma's attempts on sepukku. Either way, she shakes her head.]

I warned him that it's all his fault if he exhausts himself, so I left him alone. I don't like dealing with fools for too long, you see. But like I said, he's not as bad as the glasses-wearing, slave-driving idiot who grabbed my sleeve out of nowhere and demanded I do stuff for him. Seriously?!

[A huff.]

So I elbowed him hard in the chest. Really, he had the audacity to try and give me worthless lectures like he owns the hallway.

[oathkeeper]

[Sora blinks at her and then bursts out laughing.]

You elbowed him! Well I guess he deserved it if he was trying to boss you around to boss people around. That’s not very nice. And everyone gets to use the hallways!

[He’ll have to keep an eye out for this glasses-wearing, slave-driving idiot!]

[galactically]

Right? He needs to learn his place!

[The haughtiest laughter she can muster. Okay, so she did feel a little bad for bruising said "glasses-wearing, slave-driving idiot", but well... she's having too much fun ranting to Sora about him anyway.]

Anyway, I think that's enough talk about irrelevant people for today.

[oathkeeper]

[Sora chuckles along with her. Sora likes letting her rant, even if she gets a little mean sounding sounding sometimes but it always is funny to him. She has a really infectious confidence.]
