Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.







Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

Genjo Sanzo? [Hakkai sounds as startled as she had: he's caught between confusion, amusement, and very slight offense. For one thing, she's no more like the Sanzo he knows than he's apparently like the Hakkai she knows. For another -- how many strange doubles can one Heaven hold, and is this one going to turn out to be a reincarnation, too?

And on the third of a number of hands he's not willing to limit until he stops thinking of things to object to, he's really not pleased by the idea of any Hakkai being a Genjo Sanzo's Hakkai. He does have his pride. And independence, thank you.]

[That makes Sanzang burst out laughing and she can't help but smile]

I'm pretty sure of who I am! [She crosses her arms lightly over her chest and continues to grin, letting it all roll off her back with ease.] There are all sorts of different worlds, right? I guess it's not too surprising that there's more than one version of any of us! I've seen that sort of thing before.

But you're so different, it's really a shock! Still, let's get along and try to be friends, okay? Or at least allies. [Friendship can come a little later, she supposes.]

["Let's get along and try to be friends." And she thinks he's different! Her meeting with Sanzo is going to be a true shock to them both. He only hopes he gets the chance to be close enough to see their faces when it happens.]

Ah ha ha, you're so unlike the person I'm thinking of that I'm almost afraid to hear what the Cho Hakkai you know might be like!

[Crude? As angry as Sanzo? Considering the most obvious difference... maybe the Hakkai she knows is a woman, too?

Well: at least he's not afraid to know about it. Whoever he is, it can't have anything to do with Hakkai's forgotten past.]

Instead, may I ask you to describe Goku?

Am I? I guess that's not too surprising either, but... I hope it's not a bad impression! [That is, she hopes whoever it is isn't giving the name 'Genjo Sanzo' a bad reputation..........]

Goku? Gee, how do I describe him? [Sanzang laughs a little and tilts her head one way and then another, humming thoughtfully.] He's always getting into mischief and causing trouble! I think he just likes to get a rise out of people. He can be rude, and barely ever listens, but...

He's very strong, and very brave, confident and maybe a little arrogant. [Her expression grows inordinately fond] But he cares a lot, even if he tries not to show it. He protected me and stuck with me even when I told him he didn't have to-- he'll follow me anywhere. He always makes me laugh, and he's always playing tricks!

But, lately... Lately he's gotten mixed up in something very bad... I don't know what's happened to him. [Her smiles slips into a worried frown before she looks at Hakkai, a little anxious] Is that the Goku that's here?

Tall? Short? How old is he? What color is his hair?

[Any of the things she's said could suit Son Goku -- especially that he cares, and his confidence, and his tendency to cause trouble and not to listen. But the totality of it doesn't quite fit: rude isn't one of the first words Hakkai'd pick to describe him, for one thing, and he's not that mischievous, even when he's in a mood to pick a fight.

It sounds like they're more similar than the Sanzos, at least, but Hakkai's really starting to think that her Goku isn't the one that's here, after all.

(Besides: Konzen has recognized this Goku. There's no getting around that.)]

[She blinks owlishly at the sudden questions, but answers obediently enough] Tall, much taller than me! He's about your height, I guess? His hair is red and, I guess he's about my age? Well-- Give or take a couple hundred years!

Oh, and he's got a monkey tail! [She perks up and smiles hopefully, because surely that'd set him apart from everyone else, right?]

I'm sorry, then, Sanzo, it's definitely not the same Goku! The one I know is -- hmm, about your height? Perhaps a little taller? His hair is brown, and I don't think he has a tail at all.

[At least not when he isn't in the form of a monkey. What an odd coincidence, though: Sho had started calling Goku "monkey" early on, and now there's someone else by that name with the same association.

Does Sho -- might Goku's other gods -- know something about the boy that they don't?]

Oh.. I'm not sure whether I'm relieved or not. [On one hand, it means the Goku she knows isn't a shinki or trapped here. On the other hand, it means she's probably all alone.]

Then, the others might not be here either... That's probably for the best. I don't know if Heaven could handle all of that! [Her smile and her laugh are only a little forced to mask her hurt, but the smiles remains steadfast in place]

Is there another Sanzo here too? Things'll get pretty confusing at this rate... [She looks thoughtful and then perks up again] Oh, I know! Why don't you call me 'Sanzang'? It'll make things easier for everyone that way, probably!

Yes, there is. He's one of Elsa's shinki too.

[And a few others', not that Hakkai sees the need to spread that information around.

Her laugh doesn't sound quite genuine, but then, if she's contemplating being in a place where instead of her own friends, there are strangers by their names, there's no reason for her to laugh genuinely. Hakkai returns her smile politely.]

Sanzang, then. Or I could call you Genjo, if that wouldn't be too familiar...

I don't mind, if it won't be confusing for you! Honestly, whatever would be easier for everyone else-- I'm the one coming in late to this party, after all.

[So if anyone should change names, it should be her, right? That's just fair.]

But he's a shinki too...? I wonder why... [Why is he a shinki, and not her? Questions she's not sure she wants to know the answer to. Maybe it's just something she's not supposed to know.

And though she's sure she already knows the answer, she figures it might be worth taking a dive in to answer anyhow] What about Master Gojyo? Or Lady Kikka, or Ryorin? Is there anyone by those names here?

... Master Gojyo?

[Hakkai's expression is frozen on a smile: ah, he's not sure if he should be disturbed or hysterically amused about this one, either. Decisions!

Was Gojyo some sort of scholar in her world? A bureaucrat? Family patriarch?

He considers all of those images against the Gojyo he's coming to know, and attempts desperately to keep his face straight as the balance tips firmly towards amusement.]

Yes, Sha Gojyo happens to be here as well!

[sanzohoshi]

[She has no idea why he seems so amused but, um, she's glad to...help??

She claps her hands together in delight though-- she's sure it's not her Gojyo, but still! Gojyo was always the level-headed one, surely this Gojyo won't be much different, right??]

How wonderful! What is he like? Is he mostly bald and wears glasses too? He was always mature and tried to be the voice of reason... But I'd like to meet him here too, even if he's a little different!

[Laughing. Laughing much harder on the inside than the outside (what is her Hakkai like...) but he's still stifling a genuine fit of snickers here.]

Ah -- no. No, he's not any of those things.

[Bald?

Oh, that is a hilarious image.]

I'm sure you'll be a little surprised by him, too, Genjo!

[She deflates a little in disappointment.] Oh... [Well! Always look on the bright side! She's quick to smile again]

That's alright! I'm sure I'll like this Master Gojyo just as much! I'll look forward to getting to know him-- and you too, of course! You're not too far form the Hakkai I know, personality-wise!

[Maybe a little quieter, not as boisterous...] Though, in a way, you remind me more of the Gojyo I know too! [She laughs but she looks a bit surprised when she registers he's called her 'Genjo.']

Ah... How nostalgic, it's been a long time since I've been called just 'Genjo'!

With too many Sanzos, I have to distinguish somehow. Of course, if you prefer Sanzang...?

[But he really does want to see Sanzo's face hearing her called Genjo.

It might be a slightly petty motivation, but he can't summon even the slightest shred of shame over that.

Oh, and speaking of faces he'd like to see (and pettiness)....]

... please tell Gojyo when you meet him that I said, "One is enough"!
