007 | Clean Up Your Act
Who: Everyone!
What: Spring cleaning
When: All day April 15
Where: All around the Heavens
Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.

Main Hall
While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.
Suprises
Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.
Complimentary Dinner
After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.
Counselling
As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

[Axel steps quickly out of the doorway, leaving it free for Saïx to let the door fall closed, and starts down the hallway.]
So, I haven't seen you around! Are you new here or have you just been low-key?
no subject
[Of course, he's not entirely sure of this, but there's no reason to be anything but polite until he has a better idea of who this Axel guy was.
He follows him down the hall, the door slamming shut behind him as he walks away from it.]
I arrived earlier today. Perhaps I should stick a sign on myself saying that I'm new so that people will stop asking.
no subject
[He'd shrug, but his hands are full, so instead, have a casual head-tilt to punctuate the comment.]
At least this job's pretty quiet! No big surprises, no fights. At least not unless you open the wrong door.
no subject
[And reminds him just how lost he is without his memories. He tries to think of things in the past and all that comes up are things that happened today. If he were to die again right now, he wouldn't have much of a life to flash before his eyes in his last moments. A thoroughly depressing thought. He frowns.]
Then let us pray we don't stumble across the wrong door.
no subject
I mean, I'd rather put the boxes down first.
[Axel smirks at the other guy over the top of his box pile and speeds up, with a cheerful bounce to his step.]
no subject
All of these questions pop into his head in quick succession as he follows Axel toward the junk pile. He ups his pace, but only to keep up. He's definitely not going to chase after him or anything like that.]
Maybe you should worry less about a potential fight and more about where you're walking.
no subject
[Axel glances over his shoulder, confused: is he about to walk into something or what? Why'd he say that?
It's kind of a shame that, while trying to look at Saix over his shoulder instead of looking where he's walking, the toe of his boot is catching on an uneven board in the flooring and he's almost toppling forward with a startled yell.
Somehow, he manages to keep his hold on both boxes. Unfortunately, that means he actually does fall, twisting to catch himself on a shoulder and avoid landing right on a couple cardboard boxes full of all kinds of crap, some of which is probably sharp.
The boxes thump safely to the floor. He sits up, rubbing his shoulder with his free hand.]
Ow.
no subject
[He sighs. Saïx wants to laugh heartily at Axel, but he doesn't. If he hadn't injured himself in the fall, he would have, but he feels bad that he did.
He closes the distance between them and sets his box down before moving to help Axel up.]
How's your shoulder?
no subject
[...he thinks. Just in case, he'll roll that shoulder back and forth-- ow. He winces as it twinges pointedly at him on the forward roll.]
Just gonna be a bruise. Anyway, I was looking at you because you were talking!
[This is totally reasonable as an excuse. Clearly the blame should be shared! Or something like that. He's getting to his feet, and staring down at the boxes. Great, now he's got one arm that's hurting. This is stupid. Cleaning sucks.]
no subject
Whatever.]
As long as you're okay.
[Saïx gathers up the two boxes that fell from Axel's hands when he tripped and lifts them up, intending to carry them to the junk pile. Axel can take the one he had been carrying. It was fairly light.]
Do you think you can manage that one?
no subject
[That's the light one, anyway. It's why he put it on top of the pile.
He grabs it one-handed and scoops it up under one arm, giving Saix a slightly awkward grin.]
So, let's try that again, huh? This time I swear I'll manage just fine.
no subject
[His tone is a mixture of amusement and exasperation. If Axel couldn't manage that single lightweight box, he had bigger problems than a loose floorboard.
Saïx continues in the direction of the junk pile, keeping alert of anything that could trip him up. That being said, he can walk and talk at the same time, so he does.]
So, how long have you been here? Any advice for a new guy?
[Whether or not he'll take any of that advice was a different story.]
no subject
[Anything else... hmm. He makes a thoughtful noise, keeping his eyes where he's going as he trails along after the other guy.]
Be careful in the world of the living without your god around. Even if you're a pretty good fighter, ayakashi love the way we smell, and the only thing you can do is slow them down unless your god's with you. Seems like they mostly stay out of shrines, though, so if you do get caught just make a dash for one of those.
no subject
[It seemed contradictory to the purpose of a temple that anyone would have trouble entering their own god's temple.
As for the rest - it all made sense enough, except for...]
What purpose would I have to be in the world of the living without my god?
no subject
[He shrugs.]
I mean, I've got a part-time job down there, for instance. Answering prayers doesn't pay that well.
no subject
[It makes sense enough that he's not going to question it any further.]
Doing what?
[Saïx is honestly curious, and he even glances quickly at him as he asks before turning his attention back to where he's walking.]
no subject
[His grin's cheerful as he returns Saïx's glance.]
Plus, there's an employee discount!
