Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.







Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

Are you crazy!?

[He gets to his feet, still moving slowly and painfully. Man, every joint feels like it just got punched. And his hair is a crackling foot-wide halo around his face. This sucks.]

Why do you want it to do that again? It could've killed me!

Would it? Does it work that way here?

[He can't see anything that's immediately obvious that would have caused it. Maybe something under the floorboards? The thing to do would be to find something to throw in there.]

I wanna see what it does.

I'm not going to be the guy who figures out if we can die the hard way. Have fun if you want to be our guinea pig.

[He's heard of shinki dying, so it probably can happen. Who knows what it takes, though? Maybe they've got to get broken when they're weapons, or something.]

[aristacrat]

Get me something to throw in there. I wanna see if it'll explode.

[He doesn't even seem the slightest bit self-conscious about giving orders. He does it like it's second nature. It isn't even that he's adjusted to this whole god thing that fast, it's just the way he's always been.]

[Axel pauses for a long, dubious moment, but... okay, actually, he's kind of curious himself. And if it does explode, that'd be really cool.

He pulls the dirty rag he's been using to dust with out of his hoodie pocket and hands it over.]

There. Go wild.

[aristacrat]

[Reiji takes the rag with a quick "thanks" and tosses it into the room, watching expectantly.

But then nothing happens.

He sits down on the floor with a thunk and frowns.]

Do you think a person has to go in?

Maybe it's because cloth isn't all that good at conducting electricity. Got anything metal on you to toss in there?

[This sounds like such a dumb idea, but hey, if the guy wants to test the room out instead of just shutting the door and slapping a big DANGER, STAY OUT sign on the door... Axel has to admit he's a little curious, too.]

[aristacrat]

[Reiji thinks that one over, then slumps down a little.]

I have my bracelet, but that's gold, so I don't think it's gonna work.

[What else could they use...?]

Maybe I could run home and get a peacock.

Gonna fry a bird? Why not pick something that tastes better than peacock?

[Not like he's ever had peacock. He thinks.]

No keys, nothing?

[aristacrat]

[Reiji waves that one off.]

I have a ton of peacocks, though. They're my symbol. No matter how many I try got get rid of, more keep showing up.

[And peacocks are loud. Really, really loud. No one has yet pointed out how appropriate it is that he was assigned to be a god of war with a big, flashy, obnoxious bird as his symbol, but it's kind of inevitable.]

Sorry for your luck. You know, I've heard other gods saying they've got sacred animals hanging around, but it's just you and that girl who wrestles bears trying to eat them.

[And she's a goddess of the hunt, so, you know, eating her sacred animals is probably how it's supposed to go.]

[aristacrat]

There's a girl who wrestles bears? Who's that?

[It's more the "wrestles bears" part that he's interested in, really. In lieu of VR game competitions to keep him entertained, he has to find something to fill the time. He could probably fight a bear. That sounds like it could be a lot of fun!]

You know, I didn't catch her name? Hi-something. She's some goddess of the hunt.

[Boy, does this guy look excited about the idea.
