Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.







Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

Mounting putty?

[Carrying the papers in her arms, Sheryl approaches Roxas with a curious expression. Her blue eyes dart over to the sticky gummy that he found, right at the same time her mouth forms an "O" shape.]

I've seen that before! It's like, clay and glue at the same time. You use it instead of tape to hang things.

[missingache]

[That is one of the weirdest things he's heard about.]

So we use this instead?

[galactically]

[She quickly nods, then walks to the desks in an attempt to find some writing tools.]

Right! Unless there is actual tape in this room we can use.

[missingache]

[He looks at his find before putting it on top of the desk. He's careful to rummage through the other drawers for tape or something else that was useful.]

What are gel pens?

[Roxas pulls some out of the drawer. They were soft pinks, purples, and greens. To him it looks like strange colored cream in a pen.]

[galactically]

Aaah, they even have those stylish pens in here!

[Sheryl looks enthusiastic for these otherwise normal pens, but yeah! She plucks a soft pink one and twirls it around between two fingers.]

They're just pens, only with the gel as ink. I see these being used more for coloring than actual writing, but they look so beautiful when I write lyrics with them.

[missingache]

[Roxas just stares at one of the pens deep in thought.]

How can you write with gel? Ink is a liquid. Is it just thicker ink?

[These look like they should be used against dark paper.]

[galactically]

The gel in these pens have the same consistency as ink, only a bit thicker.

[She glances around the room, then rummages through the drawers until she discovers a long sheet of blue construction paper. There might be a light bounce to her step, if Roxas pays attention.]

Let's test these out with this!

[missingache]

[That makes a lot of sense. And he does notice. She's happy! So he smiles brightly as he uncaps the green pen.]

So we just draw or write anything?

[galactically]

Anything like you like! Natural spontaneity is greater than the human imagination.

[Read: write and draw according to how you feel at the moment. Which is what Sheryl's doing right now, pulling the cap off the pen and plopping the sheet on the table for them to share.]

[missingache]

[This reminds Roxas of when he started talking to the Sora back in Koriko. They somehow managed to stop the fight once Roxas drew an angry cat on the bbs, and it devolved into covering the entire board in little drawings.

He smiles before drawing a cat similar to the one he drew well over a year ago.]

[galactically]

[Right next to the cat is a giant butterfly with heart patterns and colored in circles, drawn by Sheryl herself. She can't recall the last time she felt creative with paper, aside from the very first day she made paper planes and origami pieces with Hajime.

She looks over at Roxas and chortles.]

Does your cat have a name?

[missingache]

[A name? Well, it's fluffy. And cute. A name springs to mind and Roxas nods.]

Shiro. That's what her name is.

[Why did he just give the cat the name of his girlfriend?]

[galactically]

Your cat even has a gender! Nice.

[She giggles at that, shifting her glance from Roxas' cat to her own butterfly. Maybe she should name it...]

Ranka. [She taps the butterfly with the bottom of her pen. Yes, she named it after her closest friend from Frontier.] That's her.

[missingache]

Ranka?

[That's an unusual name. Roxas wonders if it was Japanese or perhaps something from one of those other countries he's heard about, like America.]

[galactically]

A very cute girl who radiates a strong, positive energy. She's a singer just like me.

[Judging from the fondness that Sheryl doesn't bother to restrain in her voice, it's clear that Ranka is important to her. She gives the cat drawing another look.]

What about yours?

[missingache]

So you do concerts with her?

[Roxas can hear it, and his immediate thought it best friend. That's always a good feeling to have towards someone.

He blushes softly.]

My girlfriend. She was left behind in Koriko.

[galactically]

We... sort of did one together. It's a very long story.

[If singing a medley of their songs together to free giant alien bugs from her ex-manager's control counts as a "concert". Sheryl notices that blush you got there, Roxas, and that would normally cause a smirk out of her if he didn't say his next words.

So instead, there's a faint smile.]

You miss her, don't you?

[missingache]

At least you got to sing with her once!

[The sad smile can't be helped. Roxas absentmindedly adds a polka dot bows to the cat.]

A lot. I know she's not alone there. She has a lot of friends... I just wish she was here, or I was there. [Wishes barely ever come true.] It's a stupid wish. I don't think she'd like it here, not if she has to fight.

[galactically]

A few times, actually.

[Sheryl will never forget the time she and Ranka did an impromptu duet at the hospital for Alto... she casts her gaze at the window, her expression thoughtful.]

It's a selfish wish... but I understand how it feels to want someone to be here with you. [A humorless chortle.] Desire can be such a hassle, sometimes.

[missingache]

[Roxas can feel the mood shift. His hand starts moving again as he adds a little lion to the picture. The mane look more like spiky hair than anything.]

Yeah... but it's not always bad. I know some people use that as a reason to keep going.

[galactically]

No, not bad.

[Definitely not. Sheryl has plenty of desires herself, like music being one of several things that makes her want to keep living. She draws a bird with large wings over the rest of their drawings.]

Sheryl Nome will always keep going, no matter what.

[missingache]

[Roxas has more selfish reasons to want to keep living, being his own person being the biggest one.

He admires the bird for a moment before drawing a rough looking dog with a baseball hat in a corner.]

Even if everything's against you?

[galactically]

[She looks at the picture for a moment before adding some fluffy clouds at the top, then a sun. Her next words are said as easily, smooth as butter.]

"No uncertainty! Doing anything I am able to!" That is my motto, and I'm sticking with it.

[Sheryl has been through her own hell a few times. She can't let this place stop her now.]

[missingache]

[Let's add some trees in he background.]

That's a pretty good motto. [Rocas thinks about his own.] "Don't die." would be mine.

[galactically]

[Roxas' answer prompts Sheryl to look at him owlishly, a delicate arch of her brow.]

Don't die? That should be a way of living, not just a simple motto.
