Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.







Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

You'd think praying would get you better results, in a place like this.

[He is not going to enjoy that feather duster, but he's taking it. The sooner all this gets finished, the sooner he can be done with it and get the fuck out-- so excuse him, he's just hopping up onto the ceiling here.]

Here, you get whatever's down there, I'll handle... [Chuuya squints down at the top of that shelf, giving it a disgusted look.] -the shit up here. Pretty sure nobody's ever even tried to dust this off.

Hazel takes a moment before he looks up, even though Chuuya isn't out of his sight miraculously, as he's still on top of the table... But, huh.]

That's one hell of a parlor trick.

[But alright, he'll go dust something closer to the ground. With, uh, maybe a corner of a wall hanging, now that he doesn't have the feather duster anymore.]

But who's a man supposed to pray to around here - himself? [Ugh. He's tired of this god thing already. It doesn't make sense.] I reckon prayin' to a bunch of stand-ins ain't gonna do the trick, anyway.

[Parlor trick, huh. He's tempted to just toss this duster at the guy's head-- but what would that leave him to work with up here, his coat? Fuck that. Hazel just gets a flat look, for now.]

Seems like half the stand-ins don't know what the hell they're doing, so yeah, that sounds about right.

[He huffs out an irritated breath as he aggressively dusts that shelf.]

Honestly, praying to yourself is as good as you're gonna get. At least then you know what to expect.

[It's a great parlor trick, to be fair... Even if he might be possessed by the devil, holy shit.

That said, all this god stuff is interesting, but he has a more important question-] How is your hat stayin' on?

[Yes, good, appreciate how fascinating his ability is-- or at least that's how he's taking it.]

There's no real difference between this and standing on the floor.

[After checking a spot on the floor (and dusting it off a bit first), Chuuya illustrates by dropping the hat, which 'falls' to the ceiling and stays stuck there.

Not for long, though, because he's not subjecting his hat to that for more than a few seconds.]

Pretty simple gravity manipulation-- you do know what gravity is, right?

[Look, with the way this place is, it's never safe to assume he doesn't have to explain.]

I'm not saying I expected you not to know, but you'd be surprised how much shit some people don't know here. Can't take anything for granted, yeah?

More than a bit. I can forgive not knowing how the internet works, too many people are hopeless with that, but vehicles? Appliances?

[Just dusting this shelf a little more aggressively, like it is personally responsible for all Chuuya's minor annoyances.]

I don't know how the hell people get through their lives without figuring that out.

Well, there weren't any buses where I lived growin' up. Small town.

[He did pretty well not taking public transit for a while... This guy's real mad at that shelf.]
