007 | Clean Up Your Act
Who: Everyone!
What: Spring cleaning
When: All day April 15
Where: All around the Heavens
Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.

Main Hall
While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.
Suprises
Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.
Complimentary Dinner
After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.
Counselling
As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

- Clean up your home
- Help clean others' homes
- Get the main hall clean too!
- Hope no hidden magic jumps out

[Axel watches the fire cautiously, one hand half-raised as he waits to see if it's going to need some extra personal attention to stop the whole thing from blowing sky-high.]
But if you just mean junk? I've been doing it all morning. It's kind of fun.
no subject
[Most of the junk he's been finding has at least been somewhat magical junk, even if he still considers it worthless and doing its best work as kindling.
Shun has an eye of his own on the fire - even if he can't control it, he'd rather not get caught off-guard in the event it does go out of control.]
At least it's a way to get rid of things that isn't just moving it around or making the place smell like rot.
no subject
[The sort of thing that just accumulates around bureaucrats and that, in Axel's personal opinion, should probably all get tossed. Or burned. Burning is more fun.]
What do you mean, making the place smell like rot? What've you been doing, stuffing garbage in the backs of closets or something?
no subject
[Excuse him being overly derisive for a moment, because yeah, incompetent bureaucracy is turning into a pet peeve of his by this point.
With an almost frustrated sigh, Shun shakes his head at the question.]
I told you, I was decomposing things. It's about as effective at getting rid of them as this is, but it smells a lot worse if you start doing it to everything.
no subject
[He'd sort of glossed over that idea, because he hadn't quite gotten what it meant, but: ew.
If that's this guy's god power, extra ew. What kind of deity does stuff like "rot trash" anyway?]
no subject
[Not that Nekhbet is exactly a prolific god or that he'd even thought about bringing up which god he was prior to this, but he's seen way more ridiculous powers here than his.]
I can reverse it as well, it's stopped some of the half-rotted doors these idiots keep their monsters behind from coming down.
no subject
Sounds like a pretty gross way to clean up if you ask me, though.
no subject
[Which is why he only ended up with such a small group of statues brought to this little bonfire.]
It's not as...satisfying as setting fire to some of this garbage, I'll admit.
no subject
I'd way rather sweep up a little ash.
[The strange colored sparks are starting to settle down to the crackling of normal flames at last. One of the statues cracks in half, sending a little spray of regular yellow sparks spiraling up in the smoke.]
Hey, if you've got anything else you want to watch burn... [He trails off invitingly. Sure the guy said there weren't any more statues, but that doesn't mean there's not more junk. It looked like every storeroom in there was crammed full of the stuff.]
no subject
[All of them discolour, sure, but the end result is generally just a dry and crumbled pile of whatever it was before. He might as well just be aging the item a few hundred years in the space of some seconds.
At the half-finished proposition, Shun shoots him a look before giving a short huff that might be amused or might be derogatory, it's hard to tell.]
If you're that eager to burn more, I doubt it'd take long for me to find more useless garbage.
no subject
And how does rock decay, anyway? Does it just kind of crumble?
[How long would it take for rock to do that, if it weren't for magic? A billion years?
Axel shakes his head slowly. It's an impressive power, all right. Scary as hell, but impressive.]
no subject
[It's still useful that he can do it at all, but he'd like to get more experience up with his powers to see if he can make the decaying process any quicker. And he hasn't tested all that much on organics, though he doubts he's going to get much in the way of volunteers to see how decay and reversal would work on a person. He might just have to do minor tests on himself.
After a moment of consideration, Shun turns back the way he came.]
I came past another temple on the way here that had junk stacked out the front. If you wait a minute I can get something from there for you to burn.
no subject
-- Gross, but nice.
Anyway, sure, I'll just be hanging out here if you want to bring some more stuff back.
[He kicks his feet out, crossing one leg over the other, and puts his hands behind his head with a sidelong grin.]
no subject
[Another reason he'd like to narrow the timeframe a bit if he can, because in a fight, surface rot is going to be more irritating than anything, but it's the deep rot that needs both contact and a bit of time to really get working.
In any case, Shun ends up going back the way he came, and it's only about two minutes before he comes back with what appears to be a pile of different kinds of wood splinters in his arms, some of them painted and some of them no colour that a normal tree should be.]
Looks like something collapsed in that temple. There's broken wood all over the front garden.
no subject
[Axel uncrosses his legs and swings up to his feet, reaching out to take some of the pile of splinters from Shun and start arranging them into a nice bonfire shape. Luckily, some of the chunks of wood are pretty large.]
I bet they knocked down an old shed. Wonder what kind of tree this one's from? [He holds up a section of timber that's a deep bluish-purple, like a ripe plum.] Think it's dyed?
no subject
[It's a power and a weapon, and however gross anyone else thinks it is, it's useful.
Shun glances at the splinter for only a moment before pulling a different one from the pile and holding it up in comparison. It's a rough silver, faintly metallic, and where the inner wood can be seen it's a paler white colour.]
Probably. In this place, though, it might just be some ridiculous kind of tree nobody knows about.
no subject
[He pulls a face, shrugs, and glances at the metallic chunk of wood in Shun's hand.]
Some kind of magic god tree, maybe. Let's see what color this stuff burns. You clear?
[He holds up one hand, waiting until Shun's a good couple steps free of the pile, in case something turns out to be the kind of magic that explodes.]
no subject
[With his home city in the state it had been in since the war started, he's no stranger to searching or moving through garbage, ruin and rot to get things done.
At the question, Shun flicks the chip onto the pile and takes several long strides back, a subtle readiness to his bearing just in case he does end up having to jump out of the way despite the distance he's already put between himself and the pile.]
Go ahead.
no subject
[Sure, it's a gross power. Sure, it'd suck having to dig your fingers into rotting flesh if you used it in a fight. It's not like it's a "luxury" to feel that way, or anything. It's a luxury not to have to do it anyway, maybe, and Axel'll just be glad he's got powers that work just fine at a distance.]
One, two --
[The pile goes up on the count of three. This one burns more steadily, with nothing more than natural sparks flying up in the smoke.]
no subject
[He doesn't seem much more than exasperated by the observation, like it's not much of a point on his radar but still not a quibble he really understands.
As the countdown begins, Shun's attention shifts to the wood pile, in case of unexpected side-effects like last time. The blossoming of a much tamer, more typical fire is almost a disappointment after all that lead-up.]
Nothing as erratic as whatever was in that effigy, then. [Or at least, not immediately.]
no subject
[Axel watches the fire, and stretches out a hand, grinning as he pulls some of the flames up into little elongated ribbons. It's fun. Dumb, sure, but fun.]
Guess you were right, this one was just a broken-down add-on to the building or something.
