Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.







Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

It's nice to meet you, Ludger.

[Whether it's his job or not, Ayumu's very grateful he came by when he did. It's not like her to be so careless but she has been distracted today.]

I wonder whose temple this was? They should have taken better care of their pets! There's no telling how long it was trapped in there.

[Long enough to go mad, it seemed. She shifts her eyes to the carcass and sighs. It's going to be really heavy to lug out of the room but if she takes it slow, she might be able to drag it out. Ayumu can worry about the bloodstains after it's out of the way.]

[Ludger shakes his head. If he knew, he'd go complain. Part of him doesn't think this snake was a pet. It was way too big-.... what if it ate its owner? Ugh. That though is giving him chills.

He notices her looking at the carcass and nods. He'll take care of this! With a smile even!

Seeing as it would be easier to grab the snake near the end of the tails, Ludger wraps his arms around the dead creature and starts pulling it outside. It might be easier with the both of them, but he won't mind if she prefers him to do all the work. After all, he's pretty strong, so may as well put that to good use.]

[Ayumu moves to assist. It's only right after he came to her aid like that. She's not nearly as strong as he is, though, even without factoring in the blight presently weakening her. Still, she'll do her best without complaint.]

I may be able to burn it once it's outside.

[Cremating it would be much better than just leaving it to rot in the sun.]

[With some solid team effort the snake corpse makes it outside! Ludger takes a deep breath, putting his hands on his hips. Burning makes him think.

Out of his pocket he pulls out two masks. These are usually just for dust, but.... He hands one to Ayumu before putting his own on.]

For the smell and ash.

[No need to breathe in possibly toxic fumes without even just a little bit of protection?]

[Ayumu slips on the mask and waits for him to do the same. She eyes the carcass, trying to gauge how long it might take to burn it. It is an awfully big snake. Oh, well, she'll just have to do her best.

She focuses and pushes with her mind, quickly rewarded with the corpse suddenly bursting into flame. It doesn't take long for it to be completely bathed in it so she switches her focus into keeping it from spreading out of control.

This might take a while to burn.]

[Seeing the snake catch fire was impressive. Ludger looks over at Ayumu and notices her concentrating on the task at hand. So he'll relieve her burden further and just go clean up the mess he made.

By the time she's done with the snake, well, Ludger has done her job for her. The temple is very clean now. He even figured out how to fix the scorch marks. Just waiting on you now, Ayumu.]

[It takes a while but eventually the snake is reduced to a large pile of ash. She'll figure out what to do with the ashes after she finishes the rest of the temple. Or at least, that's her plan until she discovers Ludger's been busy himself.

And he's done a good job, too.]

You didn't have to finish the rest by yourself, Ludger-san! I could have helped, too!

[She's not mad though. Ayumu has a pleased smile on her face, in fact.]

But thank you.

[Shaking his head with a smile, Ludger is letting her know in his own way he didn't mind. Everyone's job was cleaning, not just hers. So why not?

He is rather impressed when he looks over that pile of what used to be a snake. That burned much faster than he figured... and it's now in hindsight that maybe he should have kept some of the meat.]

[What a helpful and useful young man!

Ayumu follows his gaze to the ash pile. Saving the meat or the skin hadn't even occurred to her, honestly.]

I suppose it could be swept into bags and disposed of that way.

[It'll be a little bulky but much lighter than the carcass itself had been.]

[It would have been an interesting dinner to be sure. Has anyone in his household ever had snake? Ludger feels like he may have eaten things like that before. Not that he remembers...]

Right.

[He's off to get some brooms and bags. This is just another mess now.]

[And now he's off to do more work. Even if Ayumu wasn't always on the lookout for potential shinki to serve her, Ludger's behavior would have been enough to put the idea in her head. It's especially refreshing given how strained things are with her newest shinki.

Ayumu waits for him to return after taking another look around the area for something to do but he's already done such a good job.]

[Might want to talk to his boss before you even entertain the idea, Ayumu. Ludger's Roxas (why are there two of them) might not like the idea unless Ludger agrees to it as well. Which.... who knows.

He's back rather quickly, two brooms and bags in hand.]
