Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.







Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

[totally. He's totally going to keep working just as hard as he's been working all day. He had cleaned a single small closet before all the dust had him abandoning ship. ]

Right, right. I'm definitely going to work on something.

[whump whump whump .....are those tails twitching a bit more quickly now. . . he'll give a smile that seems . . ..pretty forced, actually . . . ]

[ Noticing those tails.

And believe it or not, she has see that sort of demeanor before. Her suspicion has grown! ] Soooo.... when I next come back, I can expect this entire place to be cleaned up, right?

[Alright, enough of this. Sure, she was a little cute, but Gintoki isn't someone who's going to pretend to be something he isn't.]

You know, like, I'm sure someone will clean it up.

[He'll keep munching on the mochi, utterly shameless.]

[miraculo]

[ Aha~! Wow, does she feel smart for catching on! ] That's right.

[ Here, have a broom instead of a mochi. Where did she get it? NO ONE KNOWS, but she suddenly has one too. ] We're going to clean this place up!

[pachintoki]

[Broom drop.]

I'm pretty sure I left the water on at home. . .

[The hot water for the bath he's going to go enjoy right now.]

----Then that's what we have to clean up next!

[ Smart in some ways. But sooo so naive in others. ]

[pachintoki]

[He'll stand up, finishing his last mochi. That was pretty tasty, and he wanted more. He wanted food in general.]

Don't worry about it. I have a shinki for that.

[sorry not sorry Ross-kun. It's not like there was water running anyway; he had an onsen at his temple.]

[After a good stretch, he'll look at her again, almost like he's finally fully noticing her. Where did such a cheerful girl even come from? He was starting to feel a bit bad for not listening to her. Get a hold of yourself, Gin-san. He'll give his head a bit of a shake. There was no way he was gonna be guilted into cleaning up the shitty heavens!]

What's your story, anyway? Like, nobody can really be that happy about cleaning something. Especially someone else's mess, you know?

[miraculo]

[ What is with this guy?? Oh well, he won't get her down! Sanae shakes her head at him, picking up the broom he discarded carefully. ] Lots of people make messes, gods or humans. Sometimes, neither have the time nor energy to clean up after themselves... but that's okay. [ Or maybe they just are shitty people and don't clean up their shit. But she believes in the best in others. ]

If I was called here as a god of miracles, then I want to do something with that title and power to help where I can. [ She brings the brooms close to her, a hand going of her chest nobly. ] You ask how can someone be happy to help but-- it really isn't about helping or not. It's about doing what is right, about lending a hand to others in need, even complete strangers...! [ Blahblahblah kindness and stuff. There would be shoujo sparkles and bubbles if she had the power to make them!! ] It is my duty-- our duty, to help each other. [ Ask not what your heaven can do for you etc etc. ]

And that is why we must help....!

[Yeah, he can practically see the sparkles around her. Maybe he does see them, using his imagination and everything. Shoot, what an inspiring message. She was seriously gonna give his noble lecture/speeches a run for their money. Was she trying to be the main character here?

Then something registers.]

It's the heavens that made this problem in the first place, oi. And a god of miracles? Wouldn't it be more of a miracle if you, you know, if you just made this place clean all by yourself? Like you could definitely do it, I'm sure you could, in the blink of an eye. Just give your hand a little wave, and this'll all be clean. Yeah, that would be a real miracle.

[There's not actually a bit of cynicism in his tone though. It's as though he really believes she can snap her fingers and cause a miracle to happen. He'll look at her almost hopefully.]

[miraculo]

[ She's in her happy shoujo-inspiring-messages place when he suggest her to just, well, miracle all the dirt away. ] Eh? But if I do that, then it won't really build character, either.

[ This, said as a god of miracles. USELESS. She is useless. ] Besides...! [ And now she is back to that inspirational (with a hint of lecturing) tone now. ] ...To use your own two hands to clean, to work in an environment such as this, one builds an appreciation of how much hard work and dedication it takes to maintaining such a beautiful place! [ She smiles at him. ] It would make you not want to be so quick to mess it up again, no?

[ Tho if he prays to her she doesn't really have a choice but to grant his wish now does she. ]

[The expression he returns is completely flat, those dead-fish eyes losing every spark of that hopeful expression they had before. ]

You wanna ask me how many toilets I've cleaned in my life, hah? You wanna ask me how I feel about that?

[He'll cross his arms, giving her a somewhat dismissive sideways glance.]

Fake. [spit.]

You're a fake god of miracles. Don't go spouting nonsense just because you can't handle a miracle now and then.

[Scoff.]

[ Oh nooo, definitely not the reaction she was hoping for!

And now she just wants to do better. ] I'm--... I'm not fake! [ Suddenly hurt?? ] I am the god of miracles!

But. But it's not like it's good to use miracles all the time, you know?!

[pachintoki]

Come on already! Having miracles happen all the time has gotta be one of the best things there is!

[He'll give a sigh, setting a hand on her shoulder. Have some sympathy, although it may not be genuine.]

Look, I'm . . . I'm sorry. It's okay if you need to practice. You can practice all you want now, so why not give it a try?

[wow, he almost seems nice.]

[ She's not sure how to read this guy. First he seemed like he didn't want to clean at all, but now he's trying to encourage her?

...But. If she thinks about it. Him wanting to use a miracle to clean is better than him not wanting to clean at all. #SanaeLogic

So after one hesitant moment, she relents: ] I... really don't need to practice but. [ A small huff. ] Fine. One miracle to clean a place of your choice. Although it can't be to clean everything!

[pachintoki]

One place? That's hard to choose, but the place I choose is the heavens.

....I don't know if even my miracles can clean up that much but--

[ The request has been heard. So she'll try. Not that she has much of a choice, when someone asks for a miracle, it's their wish that fuels her means to provide.

Sanae closes her eyes for one moment, and in the next, the space around them is perfectly cleaned, tidied, organized, and basically everything and beyond the realm of beautified. If something is broken, it becomes fixed. Not a speck of dust is to be seen.

Except obviously this miracle won't clean all of heaven. because this event needs characters cleaning duh It'll go as far as the current temple/domain they're in. ] ....I hope this is good enough? [ She looks back at him, asking calmly yet timidly. ]

[pachintoki]

[It takes him a moment, but he'll blink and start looking around. He'll even go under one of the low tables in the area and run his finger along the floor.

Holy sh*t. She really did it, and it was really that easy for her. He'll look at her from where he's kneeling on the floor, his expression cautious. Right now, Gintoki isn't sure if that's an amazing power, or a really dangerous one. He'll stand up, trying to play it cool despite wrestling with both giddyness and wariness on the inside.]

Eh- [ahem he'll cough into his hand, nonchalant.] I mean, that's exactly what I'd expect from a god of miracles. Nice--

[Nice job? Have a pat on the back like you got an A on your report card or made your bed without your mom asking you to? He has no idea what the hell he is gonna say.]

I mean, that's pretty good.

[nailed it.]

[ She lets out a breath she didn't know she was holding in. Even if he's a stranger, she needs others' approval. ]

S... so-- I'm not a fake, okay? [ Sanae you're fucking 22 yo, get a hold of yourself. ]

[pachintoki]

If you're a fake, then I'm a unicorn.

[He's not a unicorn. But he is a fox god.]

Wish you'd been around when I needed some miracles to happen to my wallet. . .

[He'll mumble about this, so it's okay if she doesn't quite hear what he's saying.]

Looks like we have a free afternoon now.

[He looks so pleased about that. Is she really going to pester him to clean more?]

[miraculo]

[ --Ah. He's smiling. And he's taking back calling her fake! Good thing too, he spared her from some embarrassing water works. Just as she is quick to upset, she's quick to recover. ] I..... I suppose so!

[ Still, she feels just a bit bad, but now for a different reason. ] And I apologize for not answering your request for a miracle earlier. I should have thought of the bigger picture-- that if you were requesting one at all, it means you were thinking about cleaning. [ Have a bow. ]

[Unlike Sanae, Gintoki doesn't appear to feel even a little bad for asking a goddess to waste a miracle on something like cleaning. After all, why waste a good thing? He wasn't quite willing to part ways with her just yet; it was almost like having a genie or something. And didn't even need to rub a lamp or anything.

Even though he'd been given powers as a god, he's started to feel a bit cheated. Why couldn't he be a miracle god, huh? ]

I-it's true, I was thinking about cleaning. But it was more like, I was thinking about how I could avoid cleaning anything.

[He'll confess that much.]

Seriously, if I were you I'd never lift a finger again. You could wish all of your favorite things into your room and never have to go anywhere.

[When did he become so useless.]

[ He has a point. But really. ]

That sounds like being a lazy person. [ P/A-ingly calling him lazy, hey-yoooo. Okay, no, she doesn't mean it like that, but still. ]

I don't know, [ Shaking her head. ] If you wouldn't have to go anywhere because everything would be in your room.... all of your friends and family would miss seeing you out of your room.
