Summary: The Heavens don't like things being cluttered, so it's time to clean up a little bit.







Main Hall

While the main hall of the Heavens seems spotlessly clean at all times, that's not the case at all. In fact, it's been at least a decade since the last time they actually cleaned everything out properly. There are a lot of hidden closets and back rooms that have layers of dust and dozens of boxes filled with nothing but junk. Who knows, though! You might find something interesting and useful in there along with all the garbage.

Suprises

Unfortunately, some of the older temples on the Far Shore seem to have some interesting surprises tucked away, ranging from cursed artifacts all the way to magical creatures locked up in long-forgotten rooms. You are free to be creative with this as a way to get your characters into trouble while cleaning.

Complimentary Dinner

After all of your hard work, you deserve to have some tasty food and refreshing beverages. So the Heavens have provided that for you, so that you can wind down after a long day. It's not as fancy as the banquets they often put on, but there is a nice array of food and drinks for everyone to enjoy.

Counselling

As usual, there is a white-robed shinki bearing the gold chrysanthemum of Amaterasu sitting at a table in the Main Hall. There is a small sign that denotes her as the counselling shinki. Anyone is welcome to approach her, and she will smile serenely at anyone passing by as well.

Hmm, Yeah. [Sora nods,] I guess it's better if I just stay out of the way.

Anyway, what about you?

[galactically]

[Brace yourself, Sora. This might turn long.]

Remember your potential competitor in cleanliness? He's a pretty boy who's otherwise cute, proper, and harmless. [Sheryl's quick to scowl.] But he's also incredibly annoying and thick-headed. He waved his mop in my face, called me a banshee, and then tried to stab himself with his sword!

[She rubs the pinch of her nose, sighing loudly.]

Well, I can give him points for apologizing, but I must warn you, Sora. He will try to over-exhaust himself like an idiot!

[Her scowl deepens.]

But that glasses-wearing, slave-driving idiot... that man is the worst!

[oathkeeper]

[Sora reaches up to pat Sheryl sympathetically on the back.]

Well at least he said sorry for being a jerk! But why the heck did he want to stab himself with his sword...?

[Because that was kinda weird.]

He shouldn’t try to work so hard that he exhausts himself, that’s stupid! Did you manage to get him to take it easy?

[galactically]

It's his disturbing way of trying to make amends. That boy isn't right!

[She'll never forget Souma's attempts on sepukku. Either way, she shakes her head.]

I warned him that it's all his fault if he exhausts himself, so I left him alone. I don't like dealing with fools for too long, you see. But like I said, he's not as bad as the glasses-wearing, slave-driving idiot who grabbed my sleeve out of nowhere and demanded I do stuff for him. Seriously?!

[A huff.]

So I elbowed him hard in the chest. Really, he had the audacity to try and give me worthless lectures like he owns the hallway.

[oathkeeper]

[Sora blinks at her and then bursts out laughing.]

You elbowed him! Well I guess he deserved it if he was trying to boss you around to boss people around. That’s not very nice. And everyone gets to use the hallways!

[He’ll have to keep an eye out for this glasses-wearing, slave-driving idiot!]

[galactically]

Right? He needs to learn his place!

[The haughtiest laughter she can muster. Okay, so she did feel a little bad for bruising said "glasses-wearing, slave-driving idiot", but well... she's having too much fun ranting to Sora about him anyway.]

Anyway, I think that's enough talk about irrelevant people for today.

[oathkeeper]

[Sora chuckles along with her. Sora likes letting her rant, even if she gets a little mean sounding sounding sometimes but it always is funny to him. She has a really infectious confidence.]

Sure! Are you feeling hungry yet?

[galactically]

Hm...

[She glances at the tables filled with food and drinks, looking like she's in deep thought but in actuality...]

I think I could go for some chicken right about now.

[Her response is that quick, all said with a smile.]

[oathkeeper]

Winner winner?

[Sora snorts and laughs and then gets up to go get her some because he's such a nice boy.]

I'll grab you some, hang in there.

[galactically]

W-Wait a minute! You don't have to. I was just—!

[Sheryl is about to say more, her hands already waving in a defensive gesture, but Sora has already gotten up and left.

And now she feels bad. Now she really has to pay him back.]

Come back, Sora!

[oathkeeper]

[Sora just laughs when she tries to stop him. It’s really okay, he doesn’t mind! He comes back a moment later with a plate of food they can share.]

It’s fine, I wanted to it’s not a big deal! Eat so you don’t pass out!

[galactically]

[The smell of chicken is so distracting, its appearance so delicious that Sheryl focuses on the food with a gasp.]

All of this looks so good, Sora! Thanks.

[But oh, she can't forget her initial reaction, of course. Time to make up her mind and return the favor.]

I should get us drinks, just in case if we're both thirsty.

[oathkeeper]

You're welcome! [He beams at her.

Then he chuckles as she offers to get drinks. Okay, okay. Scratch a back, get scratched back.]

Ice tea, please. If they've got it.

[galactically]

That's what I'm getting, too! Be right back.

[Sheryl gives Sora a quick wave and a wink, then off she goes! A few minutes later she returns with two iced tea bottles, plopping them down on the table.]

I don't this for just anyone, by the way.

[oathkeeper]

[Sora smiles gratefully and takes ones of them and starts to crack it open. When she say she doesn’t do this just for anyone he looks at her with a bit of surprise.]

Really, I’ve got special treatment?

[He feels his cheeks blush a bit at that! Sheryl is a pretty popular goddess, afterall!]

[galactically]

Truly, someone like me doesn't offer this kind of service freely.

[She grins proudly, taking a seat as she opens the bottle. If Sheryl offers to just anyone, it cheapens things in her opinion! They have to special, reserved for special people (read: friends only). Either way, she lifts the bottle up.]

Now let's make a toast!

[oathkeeper]

[Ooooh, fancy! Sora copies and lifts his bottle as well with a happy smile on his lips.]

Okay! What are we toasting to?

[galactically]

Hmm...

[She spares the food and drinks with a quick glance, then her brows knit together, instantly reminded of her dinner with Alto that one night. SIlence only lasts for a few minutes before she finally perks up.]

Anything will do. I just want to toast.

[oathkeeper]

[Sora nods and thinks for a moment what they could toast to. It's easy for him to think of something and he grins fondly at her.]

To new friends made, and to ones yet to be made. We're all in this crazy afterlife together.

[There might be a few duds here and their but Sora is really grateful for all the friends he's made here. Sheryl being one of them too.]

[galactically]

[Sheryl laughs, a warm grin on her face as she lifts her bottle for a toast.]

I'll skip the last part and just give a nice toast to friends. Cheers!

[Granted she still wants to find a way out, but for now... she'll focus on her new friends. Sora is one of several people that she's happy to know.]

[oathkeeper]

[He chuckles warmly at her reply and nods. If they got out of here someday he was certainly going to make an effort to find all of his friends worlds to visit.]
