Who: Jade Curtiss and Watanuki Kimihiro
What: God and Shinki meeting!
When: April 14th, Morning
Where: Far Shore / Guanyin's Temple
Warnings: TBD
The first thing he noticed, once he got the run down of what was going on, was that his temple (his temple!) was incredibly huge. Impossibly huge. Big, big, big. And he...
...Was going to have to be in charge of cleaning it all, eventually. At the moment, it wasn't bad. A little more dusty in some places than others, but manageable, once he got down to it. But for now...
He decided he needed to do a bit of exploring of his new property. Watanuki started walking around the courtyard, past the intricate fountain that streamed out Holy Water, towards the front. He just had to see how big this place was. He was still in his yukata from when he was visiting with Yuuko. He didn't remember seeing any more clothes. He was going to have to do something about that, eventually.
"This is all way over my head..." It sounded like some crazy scheme Yuuko planned... but something inside of him told him that wasn't the case. And furthermore...
He had been told he had been assigned someone. Something? A shinki, but to as where or who or what it was, he had no idea. So exploring became something that would hopefully kill two birds with one stone: know the layout, find the shinki. Easy. Right?
Sure.

Sure.

This was a god then. He didn't seem very god-like, but then who was he to know what "god-like" truly was? He just continued to watch him.
"Nervous?"
no subject
His hand lifted, a hesitant gesture. But he overcame the nerves, somehow, if only out of curiosity. So he touched him, just so, on the faint curve of Jade's shoulder.
And that's when it saw it. It was a faint flash, a glaze of heterochromia eyes, and suddenly, Jade's life buzzed through his head. Brutal to take in, a smathering of red and colored in muted undertones. On Jade's shoulder, his fingers twitched.
"Jade," he let out, and the word felt strange on his mouth. Suddenly familiar. Initially foreign. He suddenly felt sad. His look shifted from kind to concerned. "...Jade Curtiss."
no subject
When the boy said his name, it suddenly came back to him. He could feel the ownership of it again, but he couldn't remember anything else about it. For some reason, that was fine. He didn't feel the need to know anything else right at that moment.
"My name, correct?" He asked, but he already knew.
no subject
Claiming his shinki. He recalled he would have to name him... a different name. "Jade Curtiss. That's your human name." Another pause. He withdrew his hand.
"But you're a shinki, now. So you need a different name... for when I use you." I guess, he wanted to add, but for some reason he didn't want to come across as entirely unsure, even if he was totally new to this. Him. A god. And this man, his shinki... whatever that really entailed. Sure. He'd gotten the rundown, but... seeing it, doing it all in real time was...
no subject
He remained silent for the god to get his thoughts together. He didn't want to distract him with anymore chatter or questions than was necessary so that he could just focus on whatever he needed to do.
He stayed seated, calm and collected.
no subject
"You," He spoke, and he didn't try to stop the words, letting them fall from his lips so he didn't fumble over them. "With nowhere to go, and nowhere to return... I grant you a place to belong.
"My name is Kimihiro, the god Guanyin." And both of his eyes lit up--one of gold and one of blue, bright against pale skin. "Bearing a posthumous name, you shall remain here. With this name...
"I make thee my servant." And a light started pulsing from Jade and Watanuki chanted.
no subject
He watched as his god's eyes glowed. He was fascinated with their coloring. Blue and gold? That trait alone made him seem a bit more god-like than, well, anything else about him really.
no subject
"With your name and this alternate, I use my life to make thee a shinki!" That brilliant name now glowed between them, new, just for him. He was a God of Mercy, and from Jade's memories, he had seen tragic things.
It was his job to forgive him, no matter what.
"Thou art Jade. As shinki, Jihi!
"Come forth!" And he held out his hand to summon him, unsure what what he would hold once Jade transformed. "Jihiki!"
no subject
He solidified within moments, becoming a shiny, red spear with a silver blade surrounding it. So this is what he has become for his new god.
He was aware of everything around him. The hand holding him, the way everything looked from this vantage point. He was the weapon.
no subject
Sharp and refined. He gave the spear a small squeeze with a sure hand. This weapon...
...Made just for him! From his shinki!
"...Amazing..." He let out. "...He became a spear!"
no subject
"What is my purpose for becoming a spear for you?" he asked.
no subject
"Purpose?" Oh. Good question... "Uh...
"To be honest... I'm not sure. I've never used a spear before." Or any other kind of weapon, really.
no subject
What was his purpose in being there then if he didn't know? And why would he have been turned into a spear if it isn't useful to the one that has named him?
no subject
And that's when it hit him. His entire body stiffened, and a wave of memories came flooding into his head. They were rapid, blink-and-you'll-miss-them, and in surefire shots that overtook everything. He saw snow. He saw blood. He saw fire. He saw a military academy. More blood. Lots of blood, neverending. And clips of words and phrases, and people's faces, and--
Too much. He was seeing too much, and his grip on Jade looses, nearly dropping the weapon as his other hand flew up to his head. These memories weren't his, they were--
Jade's. He was seeing them again! More! Only in clearer detail, a fine thumbprint that was left forever on his heart. He took in a heavy, gasping breath for air. His bottom lip trembled.
"Oh..."
no subject
"Are you all right?" he asked. The answer was obviously no, but it was the appropriate thing to ask.
no subject
He was crying. His eyes were clenched shut, and now Jihiki was in an iron grip in his hand. He couldn't stop the tears flowing. How sad. How terrible...! And it was all in the past--something he couldn't change.
There was a faint sniffle.
"I'll be fine." Because no, he wasn't all right. Not with what he saw. How could he be? "...I just... saw something very... intense." That was a good word for it.
no subject
He remained silent, unsure of what to say and let him just weep in peace.
no subject
"...Return to me, Jade," He called out, holding out the spear.
no subject
"So...now what?" He belonged to this place and belonged to this god, but what was he supposed to do? He was a spear for someone that couldn't use one.
no subject
"We grant wishes."
no subject
"'Grant wishes'?" That didn't make much sense to him. How could a weapon like himself grant a wish? Unless it was a death wish. That idea didn't bother him, really. But this god didn't seem the time to take up death wishes.
"You're a god, so people pray to you for different things, correct?" It was like his brain capacity was so vast that it was taking a second to jump start it as information fell into place.
no subject
"I'm new, to say the least." Watanuki looked back to him. "Having a shinki, managing a temple, and granting people's wishes...
"...Well, the granting wishes part is nothing new--but the shinki part is definitely new." He was fumbling a little for words. Everything was a little difficult to explain. "But yeah, people pray and ask for wishes. But many of them don't pray to a god. They'll just pray to whoever they think will listen and heed their request." That part was something he more learned from Yuuko. At least in weird matters like these, he wasn't completely lost. The words came easier to him.
"Wishes can be many different things, so it's up to us to filter through them and grant wishes that we can accomplish. A god's power and wealth comes from how many people believe in him." And he gestured towards the temple.
"And Guanyin--many people believed in... them."
no subject
He let out a sigh and shook his head.
"So you listen to prayers, we grant the wishes and that's that? Is there a point to it?" He disliked having to ask so many questions for some reason. He was curious, definitely so. He was thirsty for the knowledge, but it frustrated him to be lacking so much of it.
1/2
But when he asked if there was a point to it...
2/2
"We grant them to survive! Without wishes, without people to believe in us, we're dead, okay? More than dead, like, double-dead!" Come on!
"Get it?"
