with lights turned up, it's hard to hide
Who: Tsubomi Kido and Open
What: She got a power back
When: Whatever day today is ICly
Where: Around? Seriously a bunch of places.
Warnings: a panicking teenager
The snake in her room a few days ago had troubled her. At first she wondered if it was an ayakashi, wondered if she should tell Deku, wondered if she should've done anything.
But then everything had gone to shit and for the most part she forgot it. She spent most of her time inside since then. Who she had interacted with, she had been comfortable with, or they'd just been a part of the Near Shore so like really, it's not like it surprised her when people didn't notice her.
So this is all pretty darn new to her. Because Tsubomi Kido is disappearing.
A - The Near Shore
Did you think you were alone today? Did you maybe, somehow, think that there was no one around you? Because it really seemed like no one was around you. Maybe you were on your way to get groceries or check out a book from the library or on the way home from your part time job.
Until a girl with headphones in her ears and grocery bags in her hands literally appeared just as she walked right into you. Red eyed and startled, Tsubomi Kido seems to have gone more ghost than normal. She blinks up, stupidly for a second, not realizing she literally just appeared out of thin air.
"Sorry, I wasn't paying attention."
Literally right out of thin air what the hell.
B - The Far Shore v.2
You know, again, you probably thought you were all alone.
Until a hand is grabbing your arm and there wasn't anyone there until right now and there's a very concerned looking Tsubomi Kido with glowing red eyes holding onto you and you just started hearing her right in the middle of a sentence, in the middle of a word, has she been talking this whole time???
"--n you see me?"
Well now you can, anyway. Not so much before she grabbed you....
C - Closed to Deku
Invisible or not, Kido can make enough of a racket to get attention when she slams the apartment door open. But, sorry, Izuku, it might seem like a breeze at first.
Kido takes a deep breath and tries to be calm. She doesn't want to sting Deku. And that's the only reason she comes into view, standing in the doorway, clutching her bags so tightly her knuckles are white. One earbud has fallen loose and her eyes have finally dimmed back to grey and she's breathing heavily. Her shoulders are shaking a little.
"You can see me, right? I'm not invisible. I'm home and you can see me."

"You're here, I can see you." He looks so worried for her. But he has no idea what she's talking about. "What happened? Are you okay?"
no subject
"I feel like a ghost." You are a ghost.
no subject
"Everyone's had a hard time seeing you?" That sounds... kind of like a quirk to him. Though if she doesn't remember having it, then it's reasonable to assume she doesn't remember how to control it. Especially if it's not a genetic kind of quirk like most people at home have.
"I can still see you just fine. Has it just started happening?"
no subject
Her hands are starting to disappear, the groceries along with them.
no subject
"Kido? How are you feeling right now?" Maybe it's tied into her emotions? He thinks Todoroki's works somewhat similar to this, but he has far better control over it.
no subject
"I don't--" She looks away from him again, and disappears to her elbows. "I don't know. I don't get it. What's happening to me?"
She was just starting to feel better about being here. Does disappearing like this mean her time is up? Is she going to disappear for good? That would mean she'll never see Deku or Hajime again. It would mean losing music and cooking and the things she's learned that she likes to do. And she doesn't want to. People have been going missing. She doesn't want to.
no subject
"You're still here. I think its a quirk? I have a classmate that's invisible all the time, but you seem to be able to turn it off and on."
That's the frame of reference he has. It's like Hagakure, isn't it? Except she's always invisible unlike Kido.
no subject
She looks at his hands where he's holding onto her. "I don't want to disappear. Not like this." Sure she doesn't want to be seen sometimes but. This is excessive.
no subject
"You're not going anywhere, you're just turning invisible. Concentrate on being visible."
no subject
"I like it here. I-I like the stuff we've been doing when we're not fighting and I like being here. I don't want to disappear."
no subject
"I like having you here, I like being your friend. You're still here. I can still feel you." He squeezes her hands.
no subject
But Deku could and that's a start. Her eyes dim to grey again and her hands come back into sight. "... did getting cracked mess me up?" Deku's arms still aren't 100% right? Maybe something got screwed with inside of her...
no subject
"Do... you think your shinki power is bleeding through to your normal body?" He's not sure that's even possible. But he also doesn't know enough about shinki to be entirely certain. Then that's his fault.
"You're completely visible now."

"K-kido-chan? When did....Is everything okay? I see you." She says slowly, though those bright flowing ruby red eyes are getting more of her attention. Hajime reaches out to gently cup her face with both hands to get a better look. She's not seeing things, Kido's eyes are red!
"Hey Kido-chan...when did you get red eyes?"
no subject
Of course she hasn't looked at herself in a while so, yeah, they are red. And glowing. That'd be cool except for the fact that it isn't cool. At all.
"I don't know. I don't know what's going on. Nobody can see me." Except for, incidentally, Hajime now. And thank goodness Hajime can.
no subject
Now she can anyway. Kido did sort of spook her, but she is standing right there. It is weird that she hadn't noticed her before but she's trying not to dwell on that. Hajime is trying to get her to settle down more then anything. Hajime reaches to her face, gently brushing the hair out of Kido's face.
"Start from this morning maybe? What happened?"
no subject
"But it wasn't like normal. My eyes feel like they're burning. Even people here can't see me."
no subject
"Maybe...its a power you have? You just don't remember? I don't really get what's happening but I bet that's it! You just gotta figure out how its happening." Hajime gives her a small reassuring smile.
no subject
She's afraid to let go of Hajime. If she does she might vanish again.
no subject
She's not letting go of Kido either.
no subject
no subject
"It's a power I have. I think...yours is a power you have too! We just gotta figure out how it works."
no subject
She wishes, a little, that she could remember something. But she knows she can't. She knows she shouldn't. She just feels... lost.
"How do you even do something like that?" She's worrying more and her uh, her hands are disappearing.
no subject
That grabs Hajime's attention and she instinctively reaches out and grabs Kido's hands in her own. She really is disappearing right in front of her. That would be really amazing if it wasn't scaring the poor girl.
"Kido-chan, you need to relax. Getting upset is going to make things worse. Breath~! I'm never going to let you go, okay?" She gives her hands a reassuring squeeze.
no subject
"Am I more of a ghost or something? Or a demon? My eyes aren't normally red..." Is she like dying 2.0???
