Lonely, I'm Mister Lonely...
Who: Ronald Knox (
diehardreaper) and anyone looking for a free snack.
What: Someone looks a little desperate for company...
When: April 22nd, 2:00pm-6:00pm
Where: Around Tokyo and by the bridge of the Meguro river
Warnings: none
A. On the streets and about town...
Good afternoon!
[ You might have been wandering around or just arrived from the Far Shore when this perky voice attempts to get your attention. He raises his hat in greeting as he comes over before replacing it back on his head. ]
I was wondering if you could spare a moment? We could have a coffee you and I, or anything you fancy. My treat!
[ He seems almost desperate. Despite the cheerful smile, there's an almost pleading look in his eyes as he waits for your answer. Brush him off? Accept his offer? He's waiting. ]
--
B. By running water waiting...
[ He's probably had enough of socializing for the afternoon but maybe you've seen him earlier, offering his company or a free snack. Right now he's alone, sitting on the railing of a bridge and staring out into the river below. ]
They've been gone too long... prolly best they went home.
[ He flops his empty sleeve uselessly. ]
Who knows... maybe I'll see them out and about in this town if I looked hard enough!
[ His momentary cheeriness disappears, replaced instead by his drooping shoulders. So much for trying to cheer himself up. ]

[ There's a sigh as he stares on, a quick head jerk to the direction he's headed before starting off. ]
We usually operate out of the eye of ordinary mortals, like this lot in heaven's doing with gods and prayers. I'd been called something else before... shinigami, I think it was?
no subject
[He follows along, keeping up with whatever pace he sets.]
Oh- Huh... I always thought shinigami were myths? Maybe that's unfair to say now, since we're taking the roles of gods. Not that we meant to, but we're here now and clearly we exist. And Amaterasu is real too, not just a subject of folklore but actually somebody who talks with us- It's all really weird.
no subject
[ He seems pretty casual about this "you're a myth" thing. After all, he's heard it before. The actors are never usually privvy to what happens behind the scenes and a good stagehand is never seen by the audience... or something like that.
But that bit does cause the softest hum of thought. ]
Ammy's in a bit of a spot though, innshe? Poor bird seems to be all up in her neck with everyone's questions but isn't generous enough with the answers.
no subject
I've been reading her and Fuujin's responses on that network post. It seems like maybe she doesn't have the answers to give. Technically it's entirely possible that she's keeping things to herself to prevent a panic. But even so, I don't think something like 'Why were we brought here' getting answered would create a riot. Unless she thinks more people want to overthrow the heavens?
no subject
[ Now you've got him thinking, too. He normally keeps his nose out of politics but this time... it's kind of personal. But he continues to walk, deciding talking about this while somewhere more private than out in the open would be better. ]
M'not sure about the whole "overthrowing heaven" bit. Wager that Susano'o bloke was one of a kind to want to though. Maybe they just don't know.
no subject
It seemed like they didn't know that Susano'o was planning it to begin with. [He lifts his hand off his face to rub his upper arm, remembering just how thoroughly he managed to crush it while using his quirk.] For that reason alone, they might decide it's safer for them to withhold information from us. But obviously this is all speculation. I have no proof of anything one way or another.
no subject
[ There's a deep sigh as he shakes his head, absently ruffling the hair at the back of his head from frustration. ]
Wager that's what happens when you drag in all sorts of souls from all walks of life, eh? There's bound to be a couple of bad eggs in the bunch.
no subject
It's a mess. I know it's supposed to be heaven, but I'm not sure anybody's prepared for stuff like this happening.
I guess we're lucky only one of them has acted. But when one acts, somebody else might follow that example. At least we can look out for weird ayakashi- but there's no guarantee the next person'll do something like that.
no subject
[ And a deep exhale. ]
If those weird ayakashi were all his though, maybe we'll never see them again?
no subject
[But this is how it is, this is where how they're stuck.]
We can only hope. Unless somebody picks up where he left off. Or has a different idea about what you're supposed to do with ayakashi.
no subject
[ Annoyed huff as he flops his empty left sleeve. ]
So I'd rather not get into another fight with that lot.
[ But he does offer a grin. ]
Listen, even if you didn't finish your training... one of my seniors said you get the best experience on the field, not in a classroom. So Bob's your uncle, mate. Best training you might actually get is right here!
no subject
Did you lose one of your shinki too?
That's one way to look at it. [He laughs a little.] I was in my first year of U.A. though, so there's definitely a lot more that I needed to learn. I'm pretty decent at a fight at least.
no subject
[ Even though he laughs it off, it's clear the fact that they're both gone is weighing heavily on his mind. There's a certain 'forced' tone to that laugh. ]
S'good that you can clean up after yourself. Least this place isn't that much of a threat.
no subject
[His shoulders slump. What happened to somebody who's died? Being a shinki's supposed to give them a second chance, right? But if they've disappeared then...?]
At least there's that. Usually, anyway.
no subject
[ He can't help but look for someone on the same boat as he is. ]
Just a bit closer now. It's... prolly down this street.
no subject
[And now he's just gone.
He tries to shake it off.]
Have you been there often?
no subject
[ But yes, good kid. Don't dwell on it. ]
wouldn't say often! Just this particular cafe. Let's just say I've been somewhere I couldn't readily get access to my daily tea break so I'm making up for lost time.
no subject
[It's the little things, he supposes.]
no subject
[ A laugh, shaking his head. ]
I wouldn't want to get used to it though.

[ Small grin. ]
Course, the sort of busy I'd fancy is more of the fun type of busy.
no subject
I actually really liked class at home. That's the kind of busy I liked.
... I guess that sounds kinda boring, huh?
no subject
[ So he can appreciate people being the bookish type. Classroom study is totally off his radar though. ]

Incidentally, it happened to be a school.
