Let's Get Down to Business
Who: Sanzang & Barry
Where: the near shore
When: April 23
What: Prayer #03: A prayer for peace:
This neighborhood is so loud at night that my baby keeps waking up. I wish there was something I could do, but the cops won't quiet things down. I'm just so tired!
[The neighborhood seems like a nice enough one, and Sanzang can't help but be fascinated by how people live in the modern world.]
Woah... It's so nice here! But I see what they mean... [it seems once the sun goes down, the neighborhood comes to life. She crosses her arms over her chest, her sleeves fluttering in the light breeze]
We should try to quiet everyone down. But that wont work in the long-term, right? They'll just be loud again tomorrow night too...

Time to scare 'em straight, huh?

Well we should at least try asking nicely first, you know? That way we can say we did! [She laughs again and hops down from her perch on one of the houses.] At least a couple of them might listen to reason, and the ones that blow us off, we'll show them to see things our way!

[Barry hops down after her - not landing nearly as gracefully, of course, but at least he doesn't fall over.]
Probably best to try to be the nice guy first anyway, 'specially since you're a mercy goddess and all.
[He grins, making a fist and slamming it into an open hand.]
But word'll get around fast about the ones that don't listen.

Mercy only goes so far, sometimes... [She hums thoughtfully and wanders to a group of teens chatting and laughing too loudly near the home. Surprisingly, they're pretty compliant, and move further away from the home.]
if we can at least get them far enough from the home to not wake the baby, that'll be enough. [She looks pleased, but the group of already-drunk salerymen across the street seem less than compliant with moving.]
Hmm. This one isn't going so well...

[Barry follows along behind her, ready to provide backup if she needs it. The first group goes well enough that all he has to do is stand behind her with his arms crossed. He's tall and imposing enough that scaring off some noisy teenagers isn't really hard.]
Yeah... 'cause they're piss-ass drunk.
[Shaking his head, he lets out a grunt. Barry's fine with drinking and all, but you have to be classy about it. Once he sees that Sanzang isn't making any headway, he walks up to join her.]
Hey. C'mon, move it. People're tryin' to sleep.
no subject
[She trails off as the drunkards sneer at Barry's attempts to move them. They were here first, the people around can deal with it, they work too hard they deserve some time to unwind and get loud, etc etc.]
Hey, you know, if you don't move peacefully we'll have to force you. [There's laughter that meets her words, and one of them reaches for her arm, inviting her to ditch Barry, stop being so serious, and have fun instead.
Sanzang smiles.]
Oh, do you want to dance? Okay! [Aaand there goes the businessman, flung deftly over Sanzang's shoulder and onto his back.]
Anyone else? [❤]
no subject
So... what were you guys sayin', then? You're gonna force her to what now?
[Stepping up beside her, he cracks his neck from side to side, and then his knuckles, jerking a thumb toward the poor hapless sap on the ground.]
We gonna do this the easy way, or do you guys wanna see how far she can toss your friend over there?
no subject
They're drunk, but thankfully not entirely stupid; there's no apologies, but they do stumble around to grab their friend and drag him away. Sanang laughs and jumps up and down, clapping her hands together]
Wow! That went well, you sure were intimidating, Barry! [Like somehow she had no hand in this herself.]
Hopefully they'll spread the word a little. Who's next, who's next... [She shields her eyes from the street lamps and looks around] I don't think this is something that'll solve itself with one night, but hopefully the family and the baby can sleep through at least one night. It'll be a start!

You were pretty good yourself!
[High-five? High five.]
Yeah, we'll probably have to wait for the news to get around. Maybe fight off a gang or two when the tough guys hear about it.
[Or maybe he's been watching too much TV.]
no subject
??? ?? GANGS?? Barry....]
Do you think it'll go that far? This doesn't seem like the kind of neighborhood to have gangs... Oh, maybe a few teenage delinquent types!
Hey, hey, we could totally clean up the streets this way! [First this neighborhood, next THE WORLD]
no subject
[Gangs, teenage delinquents, whatever.]
Hell yeah! I bet we'll get in real good with heaven if we go for the extra credit! Might even turn some of these guys around. Kickin' ass in this world to save their souls in the next!
no subject
And some of those naughty people might go on to be productive members of society to boot! We'll be like, hmm.. .What are they called? I saw them on that TV thing once or twice...
Oh--! Superheroes!

[Barry grins, cracking his knuckles.]
That'd make me the sidekick in this team, huh? We gotta come up with some good names.
