a good idea
Who: Hinata, Fubuki
What: Prayer #9
When: Apr 23
Where: Near Shore
What, exactly, had been the circumstances of his life (...afterlife??) that lead him to having to consider going into a lady's room? Of course, it was a little more likely that it would be there than in any other place. And they had to start somewhere.
"Hinata... I'm going to suggest something that might make you lose your respect for me."

Even she would be looking for their wallet in the room, just on the off-chance that that happened. She enters the client's bedroom and is faced with a rather similar situation to the kitchen downstairs: clothes everywhere.
She sighs; this was going to take a while to sort through unless she uses her Byakugan. But that feels a little like cheating at the moment, so she begins sorting through the pile closest to the door hoping to find it hidden away in a pocket.

"Hinata, you there?" he calls, heading toward the bedroom. He stops in front of the doorway. "I was thinking...I thought the thing was a photograph, but..." He hesitates, trying to recall the wording. "The prayer said that it was her only memento of him, right? But normally, wouldn't a couple take a lot of pictures together?"
no subject
She gets up and goes over to the door, opening it as Fubuki talks. "That... Actually, that is rather strange. I didn't pick up on that, but... I know I would," she says. The only reasons she can think of why someone wouldn't are rather depressing.
no subject
Unless it was a gigantic wallet, Fubuki can only think of a few things. And what would cause someone to only have one picture of their lover, anyway?
"Maybe...it's not a lover?"

She trails off, thinking of other relationships the client could have. "A dog..? No.. Maybe a brother?" Even though that's an option she hopes isn't true. It would be too close to home for her. "And then... Where would a photo be most likely to fall out at?"
no subject
Too bad about not knowing what it was, though. It could be something like a candy wrapper, for all they knew. "It wouldn't be that rare to take pictures with a dog or brother, would it?"
He glances toward the living room. "Although...does she have a lot of pictures in her room?"

After a moment of deliberation, Hinata sighed. "I had hoped that I wouldn't have to use this, but... Just... Don't freak out too much?"
She clasped her hands together, leaving only her right index finger extended in order to direct her chakra, as it was harder to concentrate it in this world. With her chakra focused, the veins surrounding her eyes became prominent and her (white) pupils can finally be seen. With this active, she started looking throughout the house from her position since she could now see fifty meters in all directions.

But...um...
This would be easier to take if Hinata had told him that this thing she was doing would cause her eyes to get like that. It's...not as if he shouldn't already be aware that gods have, er, godly abilities and whatnot.
And...she didn't tell him not to disturb her, so... "What are you doing?"
no subject
"Um... Sorry I didn't say anything sooner, but... This is my byakugan. Why my eyes are the way they are. Um, basically, I can now see everything within six meters."
She paused for a moment, focusing on the house and the outside of it. And...
There.
Just out the front door, hidden underneath a potted plant was the missing photograph in question.
She quickly dismisses her byakugan.
"...That's an odd place to lose something."
no subject
Wait, where is his mind going? (Why is his vessel name in such an embarrassing place???) "I-I see."
That's certainly pretty useful. But if she didn't use it earlier, doesn't that mean...? "I hope there aren't any side effects?"
no subject
She sighed and started heading down the stairs, toward the front door in order to get the object in question.
"And not usually. Just, um, chakra exhaustion if I keep it going too long. But since this world is... It's different and chakra doesn't seem to be a thing everyone has, so... I tried not to risk it."
no subject
That and 'this world,' but since that's a common enough metaphor, he assumes she's talking about ways of living and glosses right over it.

She walked out of the house and bent down next to the planter and pulled out the photo from underneath it. "This doesn't seem like it was random.."
no subject
"Or maybe she didn't want to look at it for a while?" There were plenty of reasons someone would put a photo underneath a planter and then forget about it...!
Or not. "In any case...should we put it back in her room?"
