Karaoke Party
Who: Barry Goodman, Hiyoko Tosaka, Sanzang, Sheryl Nome, Genjo Sanzo
What: Three goddesses, a priest, and a nora walk into a karaoke parlor
When: April 24
Where: Near Shore, at a karaoke parlor in downtown Tokyo
Warnings: Drunken idiots. Bad singing. Rampant stupidity.
[With all the uncomfortable talk about noras floating around lately, Barry's starting to worry that there might be some merit to some of it. Namely, the part about what happens if the gods you're in service to don't get along well with each other. So he's decided to tackle this problem the best way he knows how - a night on the town full of drinking, singing, and general camaraderie. He invited Hiyoko, Sanzang, and Sheryl along, and once Sanzo got wind of the plans, he decided to tag along too. Which is no big deal, really - Barry thinks he's a cool dude. The more the merrier!]
Awright, here we are!
[They've managed to score themselves a fairly fancy private room in one of the more upscale places. Apparently having three goddesses with you opens up some connections. There's a stage, lights, a huge selection of songs (J-pop, J-rock, K-pop, American music, anime themes, and just about anything else you can think of), and of course a nice comfortable lounge area in the opposite corner with a couch and an equally impressive selection of soda and beer right at their fingertips. Barry whistles, impressed, as he opens up the door.]
Damn, this place is fancy as hell! Well, no time to waste - let's get singin'!
[He triumphantly pumps his fist in the air as he makes his way into the room, waiting for the others to follow.]

I'm getting a melon soda. Anybirdie else want something?
[It's always better to order the drinks first. Otherwise it cuts into valuable singing time.]

'This guy should stick to his day job! That girl is too high-pitched! Why is this man torturing the audience?!'
But this is an invitation from Barry, and with some familiar faces coming along, she's not going to let the opportunity to have fun slip by. Sheryl will give them a show they'll never forget. After stepping inside the building, she follows along and takes a seat in front of Hiyoko, one leg over the other and with a menu on hand.]
Watermelon soda for me, please.
[Sheryl cants her head to one side, looking confused.]
"Anybirdie"?

It sounds so weird though. She makes a vague waving gesture with her hand.]
Anybirdie, everybirdie.... it's just a thing where I'm from.
[She picks up the phone to call in the order. A melon soda, a watermelon soda, and whatever else is called out.]

[Barry waves a hand. He's noticed Hiyoko's manner of speech too, but it doesn't bother him much. He figures she just really likes birds.]
I'll have a beer. You want one too?
[Looking over at Sanzo.]

I think it's cute! I wanna start using it too! [Drinks, drinks... She looks at the menu but most of it seems unfamiliar to her.] Melon soda sounds good!
[She feels old and a little out of place, but the karaoke place is fascinating and full of color to keep her entertained.] The modern world sure is different. But it's fun! Thanks for inviting me! [You can practically hear the hearts in her voice] I'm not sure I'm as good at singing as I am dancing though, so go easy on me, okay?
