What: Nagisa and Rei meet for the 'first time'

Where: During the sakura blossoms meet up event
Summary: Nagisa discovers Rei is here, too. Rei gets tackled. Normality is restored to Rei's world.

[ It was amazing, really. How everyone from the group had magically arrived in this world together. Obviously, there was nothing that could truly separate them. And even though some had arrived under the worst possible circumstances, they were together and would support even the ones who had no memories of their times past.

But things weren't quite complete. There was still one person who Nagisa had yet to spot and it itched at the back of his mind with every new person he greeted or pastry he swiped up off the banquet table. Surely Rei had to be here somewhere, as well!

Ever hopeful, Nagisa left his new shinki, Sakon, to enjoy the festival and wandered into the midst of gods and shinki. He poked his head about, trying to spot that stiff frame with his mess of blue hair and those silly, red glasses. Hell, if he couldn't see him, he'd probably be able to hear Rei's voice above the crowd, rambling on about statistics and beauty and other things Nagisa only half paid attention to. But there was nothing that caught his attention. And after awhile, Nagisa plunked himself down on the edge of the short stone wall that surrounded the field of cherry trees. They were always so beautiful this time of year - but even looking at the sight made the smile slip from Nagia's face. Maybe Rei really wasn't here with the rest of them. But if not, did that mean he was back home, all alone? The thought made Nagisa sniffle slightly and he turned his gaze away from the falling blossoms, instead watching his feet bounce absently against the face of the stone wall. ]

[How did Nagisa miss the sight that Rei was causing not too far away from the newly created god? Perhaps it was because there was so many other people making fools of themselves, and he was just one of them? Either way, just follow the sound of raucous laughter and there you would find Rei. Well Rei being Rei severely under the influence of those dark sakura trees. His normal dark purple and red kimono partially off and hanging loosely around his waist and prattling on about the beauty of the flowers and how when his god chooses to use him, that he could even outshine them.]

[ Nagisa doesn't think too long on how he didn't notice or hear Rei amung all the others. The moment that voice registers, his head perks back up and he hones in on the source. He knew it! He knew Rei had to be here, as well! That bright smile returning to his face, Nagisa wastes no time in jumping down from his perch on the wall and running towards his friend. ]

Rei-chan!!

[ And he immediately jumps on top of Rei, arms wrapped tightly around his neck and legs around his midsection. It's a wonder Rei remains standing with the intensity of that pounce! ]

[Woah woah woah, there little buddy. Is it such a wise choice to tackle an already more then tipsy Rei? Oh well... It's your funeral, Penguin boy. It was only a stroke of luck that Rei didn't tumble forward and into the arms of the lady shinkis that he was entertaining, when that cute blonde leech tackled him and only succeeded in knocking his glasses off.]

Ahh! That is I, The Great Rei Ryugazaki, Exemplar of the God Athena. Another fan I presume?

[Just how much of that is ego, and how much was influence is left to be decided. But what is certainly clear is that there's no recognition of Nagisa in Rei's eyes as he happily patted at Nagisa's arms, breaking into another bout of laughter.]

[ If Nagisa'd been paying close enough attention, he would have snatched those glasses up mid-air and used them as leverage later on. But he's too preoccupied being a pseudo backpack for now. ]

I've always been a fan, Rei-chan!

[ And he hugs Rei tighter around his neck. But wait, what was that about being an exemplar to the god Athena? Did that mean... Rei wasn't a god, himself? Nagisa's grip loosens a bit, but he doesn't climb off Rei just yet. ]

Wait...you're a shinki?

[At the acknowledgement of having a long time fan, Rei burst into another rousing bout of laughter.]

Hahahaha, yes yes. Of course~ Who wouldn't be a fan of me? I am the perfect example of both beauty and grace. Look at how fine my triceps are~? See how they ripple? Why I am a prime example of a Perfect body.

[When Nagisa's question finally got through Rei's rather tipsy mind, he rapidly nodded his head and went to adjust his glasses which weren't there anymore.]

Quiet! I have been here for a while and dutifully serving my god as best as I could.

Oh.

[ Nagisa's grip around Rei's shoulders tightens considerably and he buries his face against the back of his neck. If there was anything that Nagisa learned in the few hours since he'd arrived here it was that there were quite a few major differences between gods and shinki... ]

Then you don't remember me.

[ It's mumbled against Rei's neck, so who knows if he could even hear him. ]

[Perhaps it was a stroke of luck for both Nagisa and for Rei, when Nagisa's muttering wasn't heard as he lightly patted at the god's hands, almost in a condensing manner.]

There there, little fan, if you grant me your name I will make sure to remember you. What sort of idol wouldn't remember their number one fan.

[Oh if only Rei was being used by Tenpou right now- he would be positively radiating with sparkles and a solo spot light. Just how much booze went to his head?]

[ Nagisa wants so badly to just leap off of Rei's back and shake some sense into him. But you knew me before, Rei-chan! Don't you remember?! Come on, you can't just forget me like that! It's me, Nagisa! I'm your best friend! But he can't say any of it. The rush of memories could cause Rei to lose his mind and turn into an ayakashi - and that's something Nagisa'd never want to do to his friend.

He gently drops to the ground, looking up at Rei. ]

My name is Nagisa.

[ He speaks quietly before his cheeks puff up in an odd mix of frustration, sadness and determination. If Rei didn't remember him, and he wasn't allowed to remind him of everything he'd forgotten, then he'd just have to become his friend all over again! ]

And we're gonna be best friends, you and me! Don't forget that!

[Utterly moved by such a pure and simple declaration, Rei could only be moved to tears as he clasped Nagisa's hands and stared down at the shorter god.]

Of Course we will be best friends! Nagisa and Rei Ryugazaki best friends forever. I could never forget that. Never Ever Ever.

[ It doesn't matter if he doesn't actually remember his past, or if he drunk off of the sakura blossoms surrounding him. Rei was still going to be Rei and Nagisa wouldn't help his own tears at hearing his passionate promise to him. ]

Rei-chan...

[ And Rei will get pounced on for the second time today. This time, Nagisa wrapping his arms fully around Rei's neck and holding on to him as tight as he can. ]

[Unlucky for them both, the second time that Nagisa tackled Rei, the poor guy couldn't keep them up right. Like a recently axed tree Rei tumbled to the ground, taking Nagisa down with him in a muffled mixture of laughter and indignation.]

Nagisa-kun!!!!

[ Wow, Rei hit the ground pretty hard. Lucky for Nagisa, he had Rei as a landing pad. But the crash landing has Nagisa wiping any tears away and laughing at Rei's reaction. He sits up but still claims his spot in Rei's lap. ]

Rei-chan, I think we need to get you away from these cherry blossoms.

[ Nagisa lets out another laugh and pokes Rei in the stomach a few times to make sure he's paying attention. ]

[Oh No! Don't poke him in the tummy! With each playful prod of his stomach a loud and rather unbeautiful laugh escaped from his mouth as he flopped and squirmed to get away from Nagisa and his fingers.]

I- hahahaha! I would rather get away from your fingers then these -hehehehe!! Cherry Blossoms! Stop! This is so unbeautiful!!

[ Shouldn't have started laughing, Rei, cause now Nagisa can't help but purposefully tickle you. ]

No way, Rei-chan, you look extra beautiful when you're laughing!

[Hey now! He can't help laughing! It's a perfectly natural and impulsive thing to do when tickled and not expect it.]

Hahahaha! Nagisa! There's nothing beautiful about this! It's ugly! Unbeautiful!

*And there's tears forming in his eyes as he squirmed and thrashed about even more, trying as hard as he could to knock Nagisa off before a even more unbeautiful laugh escaped from his mouth*

Aww, you're no fun, Rei-chan.

[ Okay, Nagisa will give you a break and slide off to the side. He sits comfortably next to Rei as he calms down from his giggle-fit. ]

Hey, when you're feeling sober again, you should take me to meet your god. Athena, right?
