Kido's used to Deku's selfless streak. They've done a few prayers now. Kind ones and weird ones and ones that they probably should've walked out (2/3 crossdressing in a team is not like the greatest score here). But they've always been safe. Deku seems to play things safe when he can, and she appreciates that. Calm prayers, safe prayers, and a few incredibly dangerous incidents of bullshit thanks to the heavens. But that does mean she's not used to facing something this big or dangerous by choice.

And a part of her wants to shake her boss because why. Morality and shame does not mean freaking war, Izuku. Why do you insist on punching things you shouldn't punch?

"If we get messed up doing this, boss, I'm never going to forgive you."

They're gonna get messed up probably.

She's never going to forget it.

She thought they worked pretty well together when they fought. Now... now she's starting to think they should probably work on how to stick the landing. It takes her a minute to wriggle out from in between them (she is a girl and regardless of who they are, she's gonna be embarrassed being squished between two guys), moving to at least sit up. She doesn't move far. She's literally just going to be sitting right next to them.

She's probably the least worn out of them, so she's gonna try to check on them at least.

When she realizes Deku's shirt has taken a dire hit, she pulls off her hoodie. When he can sit up, she'll make him wear it or something.

"We can't rest here. You're gonna get sick."

Izuku is nothing more than dead weight at this point, he doesn't move while Kido wiggles out of the pile, but now his head is directly against Shouto's chest. At any other time he would be spouting apologies and getting up immediately, but he's just too exhausted to do anything other than accept it.

"Todoroki is warm." He's not actually sure if he can get sick given his apparently divine nature. But he's content to just lie on top of his friend turned shinki for a little longer.

"I'll get up soon."

Going still with the way that Izuku winds up resting against him, he just - sits there for a bit, hands raised at his shoulders and hovering there. He's not sure what to do with this, still, but he does eventually shift a little to sit up straighter without removing him from his person. He also turns up the temperature that bit more, as he looks at Kido and then down at the charred shirt.

"... between what happened at the picnic, the fact Midoriya's never used my powers before, and this - " he points down at the part of his shirt that doesn't exist anymore. " - it was smarter to use fire as a last resort."

He looks up, then, at all of the ice around them. "We'll have to work on your output, but that went better than I expected it to."

She tosses the jacket on Izuku. At least cover up. Then she leans back on her palms, the adrenaline starting to drain out of her.

"That was closer than it should've been... We have to stop doing the weird prayers, boss..."

He just lies there against Shouto, letting Kido's jacket settle over him.

"What? You're not cold?" He at least has Shouto's quirk keeping him warm for the moment.

He considers the request. "The only really weird prayer we dealt with was yesterday's. Protecting people from ayakashi, that's part of a god's job too." Even if it doesn't traditionally fall in line with what Aidos represents, Izuku's too willing to fight for other people to let a prayer like that go. Besides, it's part of what a hero does- he won't say that part.

"I need practice with Todoroki's powers- the next time we do something like this we'll be better off." Especially since it seems like it isn't controlled by him the way Kido's is- or at least not to that extent.

"If we keep taking prayers involving ayakashi, or confront them without prayers, we should probably at least strategize for possible scenarios before we take them."

Because he can't say he'd want to stop taking these prayers, either, the ones where they defeat an actual enemy to make sure people stay safe. But Shouto also wants them to stay safe - at least Izuku and Kido, who he wants to help now that he's here.

But he shifts, finally, from underneath the god so that he can get him more upright. "Sit with Kido and put the hoodie on, Midoriya. We need to go home so you can rest, which means the ice needs to go."

She bites her tongue on saying there are other gods who can deal with it sometimes. She doesn't want to be the only one arguing the issue.

"Just put on the shirt." And don't set that one on fire, please. It's important to her. She thinks. Either way it's one of the only things she had from when she was alive, so it's important to her.

It takes him a little bit, his movements are a little sluggish considering the sheer amount of ice he's surrounded them in. But he does eventually put on Kido's hoodie, it feels a little strange to be borrowing her clothes, but it's definitely better than just being exposed to the ice on one side. He finally sits up, letting Shouto get up.

"We'll have to work on it sometime. Uh... not today though." He flexes his right hand's fingers- Shouto did a great job keeping him from frostbite, but he's still a little chilly. "Maybe tomorrow?"

He'll turn towards Kido. "You're sure you're not cold?" He gestures to well, everywhere around them.

"Not tomorrow." Shouto eyes him as he finally gets up, making sure they're both fine where they're seated. "We're taking a break tomorrow."

Because even if he's more than willing to fight ayakashi, he's also with Kido on this one - if there are other gods, other shinki, then they can take care of the ayakashi while they take a day off. Especially since Izuku doesn't understand moderation, and neither he nor Kido can push their powers constantly.

Once he's assessed their surroundings, he reaches with his right hand to pull his shirt over his head from behind, dropping it on Izuku's head and walking away with his left side slowly catching fire.

"I'm not the one who's shaking." She frowns at him. Stop worrying about her when you're a mess.

... She's also lying because the second she sees Shouto catch fucking fire, she's shaking all over. Trying to ignore it, but shaking all over. She might be scootching just a little closer to Deku at that. It's not an easy sight to see.

First he pulls the shirt off of his head and sets it on his lap. He'll worry about who he wants to worry about and right now it's Kido. Especially when he notices her starting to shake.

Izuku's seen Shouto catch fire many times, he's seen him frost over even more often. But for Kido who's not used to a world full of strange quirks and is terrified of fire... Izuku grabs one of her hands with one of his. "He'll be okay." She doesn't have to watch either.

There's an effort, to try and keep his left side angled away from them. But it's instinctive for him to just let the fire overtake him, especially when he doesn't have his very flammable shirt between him and it. And with only the two people behind him, he doesn't have to worry about keeping the flames low when he takes care of the thicker portions of ice, sweeping a plume of fire across the surface, back and forth.

"It won't take that long," he says over his right shoulder, glancing back. "There's no point in trying to melt all of it, but we should at least do enough that no one's going to notice it if they're just walking by."

"Yeah, I know." She's already seen that the two of them have at least some measure of control over it. It just...

She hasn't known Shouto very long, but it sets off a danger instinct in her mind. She returns the grip, holding onto him a little tighter.

"Just don't do this inside the apartment."

He lets her cling onto him a little harder and- looks up to watch Shouto clear away the ice.

"There's no reason to use it indoors..."

And he's planning on doing quirk training outside where the apartments can't get frosted over or burned because Izuku has no idea what moderation is.

"Something like this shouldn't be used inside. Especially since Midoriya can't control it."

Not to say that he hasn't found use for his quirk indoors, or that he didn't do training indoors - but that's a different matter entirely, and one that he doesn't remember.

He extinguishes the fire and shakes his hand out after, pausing for a moment so that he doesn't overheat before he goes to take care of the remaining ice that closes off the lot.

"Just covering my bases." She sighs and sags a little bit. She watches Shouto. She can't deny that it's impressive, at least.

"Sorry I made you go all out like that. I thought I had this power under control..."

He pats her shoulder with his free hand.

"It's okay, Kido. It all worked out in the end." And he shrugs, "It's not like I had Todoroki's power under control either." All things considered fighting that much wasn't bad and it sort of reminded him of hero classes. He's never been happier he had One for All under control, though fighting on ice... he's going to need something to deal with the ice he's inevitably going to accidentally make under his feet.

Rubbing his left arm with his right hand, he turns to look at the two of them thoughtfully. Shouto speaks his mind, when the words are there, and he offers them easily now.

"It could've been a lot worse. Your powers actually worked pretty well, and we've got enough of a dynamic as a team that we could account for a hiccup quickly."

She feels like the weak link. But she doesn't dwell on it, trying for a small grin. "Yeah, it worked out. It's good we have a new way to fight, too. If you punch ayakashi without gloves, you'll get blighted again."

Izuku's sure they wouldn't have managed nearly as well without her. Shouto and his powers are good for battle but they're not subtle and they're not support. Kido was crucial in leading the ayakashi out of the way.

"The three of us are a good team."

Punching ayakashi without gloves. Why is he not surprised by this? Shouto levels a brief look over at Izuku, but then when he looks away again, he inclines his head in a faint nod.

"That was good work, no matter what happened."
