Who: Axel the Accidental Ayakashi and you!
What: After a badly thought out conversation with Roxas, Axel succumbs to his memories and turns into a fiery ayakashi. (See the plotting post for details!)
Where: In a pretty park area in the Heavens, and rampaging around from there.
When: April 28, early afternoon
Warnings: Violence, character death, body horror

[A few hours after noon, a shriek spirals up into the still air of the Far Shore. Among the trees to one side of a path, purple limbs flail, backlit by a sullen lava glow, and something massive moves. The trees tremble.

Incoming.

Duck.]

(( This is an catchall mingle log for interactions with ayakashi!Axel and reactions! Axel will be tagging into the fight threads as well as the threads of anyone who asked for a quick interaction in the OOC log. ))

[ When he gets the answer, Shouto ducks his head again, resting his temple against Izuku as he taps out a response. This is the first he's heard of this, and he has questions about what it means to be nora, but just the word makes him feel a little uneasy.

Nevermind the fact that he feels protective anger at the thought of someone doing this to Izuku. But it's not like any of them can do something about that, right now. ]

The only way to clear the blight is to remove it from him. [ Bishamon is quick, at least, but he also gets a chance to see Forrest's message. ] But there's someone, Lakshmi's replacement, they have somewhere to cleanse it at their temple. Healing pools.

[A shinki who's contracted to more than one god- he didn't think too much of it at the time, it's a temporary team up. Something that every hero has to get used to- working with other people, adjusting to them- it's a necessary part of the job.]

I don't- know where Axel is. [Or what's happened to him. If it's this bad... He's never seen a case of blight this bad. Are all of the gods connected to him feeling like death?

There's another coughing fit before he manages to answer.]

That's- Forrest's temple.

[The thing he encouraged Kido to be at one point. Sure is a good thing she didn't, isn't it? She considers this thing.]

You feeling okay enough to carry him, Shouto? [Because if they have to cure Axel, and if someone has to get him to Forrest's temple... She's been here longer. She at least knows who Axel is. And these two need to get cleared up as quick as they can.]

[ For a very long moment, Shouto just - looks at Kido. The answer is yes, but the problem is that he doesn't know Axel. He doesn't know if he's done this on purpose, or if something has happened to him. He doesn't know if it's safe for her to go alone to try and find him. While her powers would keep her safe, if need be, she's also been blighted.

If it continues to spread, what will happen to her? ]

I am. And you, if I have to. [ It's not so much a threat as it is a promise, as he narrows his eyes. ] If you're going to go looking for him, you need to come and get cleansed, first. We don't know what's happened to him, if he's the one causing this. You can't go into it weakened by the blight.

Don't- Don't be reckless. [That's hilarious coming from him. They've both seen exactly how reckless he's been just yesterday, and Kido's known him for longer in the heavens.]

Both of you... need to get cleansed. [Izuku's grip is just that little bit tighter. Like hell he's going to let Kido go off on her own and potentially die from another guilt ridden shinki. Like hell.]

Forrest's first.

[She grits her teeth. She has to do something. Holy water's not enough--if the only way to cleanse Deku is to purify Axel, they have to at least see what's happening to Axel to make everything this bad.]

If you don't get fixed, you'll die, Boss. If he's blighting you, we have to at least see why. We don't have time for this.

[And Deku shouldn't be left alone damnit. Shouto is in a better state to take care of him.]

[ As Izuku's grip tightens, so does Shouto's on Kido's hand, a reminder that they're connected. He's just as stubborn on this as their god is, because it's - illogical, to him. He wants to go out and find what's caused this, see if this Axel person is behind it, but at the same time he can't even begin to agree to the idea of her going off on her own. They need more information about this. ]

Do you know how to cleanse the blight from a shinki? [ His phone is silent for now, waiting for an answer to that very question himself. ] What if he's been attacked by an ayakashi? What if he is an ayakashi, Kido?

[All three of them are stubborn when they want to be, but he's glad he has Shouto's support on this. He doesn't know how to cleanse blight from a shinki other than them confessing to the things they considered to be wrong. With blight this bad... he thinks it would need much, much more than a simple confession.]

Don't. Don't make me lose you. [They haven't known each other for that long, but he still cares about her, damn it. He's not sure he could take losing her- maybe for good because of his own mistakes.]

At least- cleanse the blight... First.

[She makes a noise that starts as a frustrated huff and ends as a helpless whimper.

They don't have time for this. They don't have time to fight. Deku has to get somewhere to at least start to deal with this bullshit. She doesn't have time to debate how stupid it is to ask that of her when he's asking her to risk the same thing without even giving her a chance to do anything.

They don't have time.]

Fine! But if it doesn't help, then I'm finding him anyway. Just--just hurry, damnit.

[ The moment Kido relents is when his phone goes off again, and Shouto looks down at the response that he gets. It's both good and bad, he thinks, so he can only hope that if there's others out there that they can find him and take care of him. So he gives Kido's hand a firm squeeze before he lets go, pocketing his phone after he taps out a reply and shifting up to get off his knees. ]

We're going now. [ He slips his arm underneath Izuku's knees again, scooping him up and into his chest to pretty much cradle him there. The blight's spreading even further, with all their extended contact, but at least if Kido does still go out blighted... well, she'll have the least amount of infection between the three of them. ]

Especially since, if he's more ayakashi than shinki, he has to be killed. We need to at least try to cleanse the blight before confronting him, otherwise we'll die, again, no matter what.

[Izuku's almost entirely limp in Shouto's arms- they'd make it faster to Forrest's temple if he could teleport them, but just the thought of it makes him shrink in on himself. He's got no power for even that much.

And then he winces as he hears what has to happen to Axel- is he really that bad off? What happened to him- a part of him wants to check in on him, but... he has a duty to his shinki to not die on them. So for now he'll lie in Shouto's arms as he's taken to the temple.]

We're better... in a group than going... one by one...

[Kido doesn't have the fight training him and Shouto do, and Axel seemed like somebody with a decent amount of experience under his belt, even as a shinki.]

You're covered in blight, Boss. If the pools help, then just stay in them.

[Because if he gets out it could make the blight spread again and the last thing they need is for him to collapse again.

She's glad that Shouto is carrying him, but she stays close, worried. This is just going to make the blight spread more on him. And if it gets too bad, she wants to be there to at least try to support them.]

Especially if he's an ayakashi. [ Because then it... literally would continue to spread? On that, Shouto's siding with Kido. For as much as he doesn't want to leave Izuku alone, he would go with her after shoving Izuku into a pool and possibly getting Forrest to keep an eye on him, if only to take care of this nora to save their god.

Right now, though, they have to get moving. He bumps his elbow into Kido's arm gently, before he gets moving, the only point of contact he can really accomplish with an armful of blighted god, but then he's moving to get them the hell out of there.

Nora, later. God, first. ]

[He has no idea what could happen. He got a brief, well, briefing from a shinki on his duties as Aidos, and how the god-shinki bond was supposed to work. But blight wasn't covered in it's entirety and he feels like he's dying a slow, painful death.

Not that he'll say that.]

Be. Careful.

[She reaches out and holds onto Shouto's shoulder.]

I'll give us cover. At least I can still do that.
