Doggies?

What: There is a prayer to find a lost dog and Ruri is starting with things she can wrap her head around

[Most of the Prayers Ruri had seem seemed mundane, how do I do the thing, let me pass the test, what is a winning lotto number? Things that generally people would appreciate more if they figured out on their own so she was apprehensive about offering much aid with it, still one request, from a young girl who lost a pet struck a cord with her.]

"Hrm, I think this is something I can figure out, or at least start setting up a data grid to find. Flynn will you help me look into this and point out any practicals that I may miss?"

[He had done his best in helping his new god find a prayer that was within her capabilities though in the end she made the decision. He listens dutifully to what she says but the words 'data grid' and 'practicals' give him pause. Moreso practicals because he did not know what that entailed.]

"Understood, then shall we be off? I've all ready gotten a map of the area and written a virus to give access to the local cameras."

[With that she smiles slightly and picks up a small bag]

"I don't think it should bother anyone."

[With that she starts for the path to the Earth, moving into the town and pulling a missing dog flyer posted on a pole]

"This seems to be the district, where do you think the dog may have headed?"

[Flynn nods his head in comprehension and follows after her, Jack Frost following in turn. He is silent the whole way until Ruri once again addresses him, asking him where he thought where the dog could have gone. He is silent as he ponders on the question. If he was a dog, where would he go?]

[Then he speaks again.]

I am unsure. But maybe it has not traveled far?

"I can't say I know. I never had animals, I just know that having family missing can hurt. I don't think that food or shelter would be in issue so perhaps fear or something like that?"

[Ruri sighs a bit, computers are logical, and while she can calculate possibilities the spark of life makes things all sorts of confusing. Still she understands data networks and once helped track down a polar bear so this can't be too different. In theory. Maybe?]

"Let's look for cameras first, then we can look at places that provide some food and shelter and hope it hasn't traveled far?"

[Flynn nods his head in comprehension. All right, searching for cameras then looking for places a lost dog might go to. Sounded reasonable and simple enough.]

[He starts to look around for any cameras that might be nearby.]

[Ruri followed a step or so behind, looking around herself]

"If it isn't too much of a distraction can I ask a few questions of you? Especially as you seem well... Experienced with this all."

[She looks up a bit at the sky at that, possibly in pondering, but more in wondering just how advanced the satellites are now.]

[Flynn's head turns slightly so he's looking at her from the corner of his eye. Jack Frost meanwhile waddles ahead to help in looking for the cameras while boss and boss's new boss had their conversation.]

She looks back down and looks at him, briefly tapping at her hand for a minute before stopping with almost an irritated look at something not happening breaking her usual deadpan expression.

"You served the previous incarnation of Omoikane, correct? If it hurts or you don't want to go on I understand, but if you could tell me a bit about them. I'm still trying to wrap my head around all of this."

[Oh. She wanted to know about his previous god. Flynn's eyes flit away from her to the ground before he shakes his head.]

No, I served a god called Caerus but he preferred to be called Otegine.

"I see, and I am guessing something happened to him? If you don't want to get into it I do understand, I'm just trying to get more insight into you."

[She looks over at him for a moment and tilts her head]

... He died and we hadn't been there to help him.

[Flynn's voice is subdued yet it remains even.]

After that, I found out he was a shinki now, like Munechika and I were, and would no longer be our god.

[She looks down a bit and nods]

"I see. I am very sorry for your loss, if it helps I will try to keep from going off on dangerous sorties alone. If you ever need time to spend with him though, feel free to do so."

[With that she looks up and nods, then tilts her head in thought]

[There's a look of gratitude evident in his eyes.]

[With that she nods and looks down the street]

"Should we try to get some sort of meat product too? I remember in an anime that dogs like that sort of thing. I never really had animals growing up."

Perhaps. If it is hungry then that would be a good way to attract it.

[She nods a bit and looks around, then peers down a side street]

"Then let's grab some. I don't know why, but I get the feeling that is the direction that we want to look in, but I honestly wouldn't know how to attract a dog without food."

[Sounded simple enough. Buy some food that the dog couldn't resist, lure it out, then return it to the owner that was missing the canine dearly. Flynn takes a few steps in the direction of where he's certain a shop is.]

[With that she starts off for a local meat market, walks in and comes out a minute later with some sausages, offering them over.]

"Here, I'm trusting that you know more about animals than I do and I will follow your lead on this."
