Drown It Out [closed]
Who: Archie and Goten
What: Prayer #3
Where: A Near Shore neighborhood
When: April 30th, evening
Warnings: None
Archie's spent a little while getting settled and practicing with his powers. He figures it's more than past time that he started trying to answer prayers. Part of being a god's helping people out, right?
If it were just him, he'd probably have gone chasing after ayakashi by now. That's what the people around here really need. It's ridiculous, everyone being harassed by these demon things and no one with so much as a baby Ralts to fight them off. But whatever he does, he's gonna have a kid tagging along now. Goten's strong, and has some powers Archie doesn't know the full potential of, yet the idea of throwing the boy straight into battle doesn't sit easy with him. Best they start slow. Just a few normal, easy missions at first, and they'll see how things pan out.
So then: quieting this neighborhood down.
Living with Goten is the closest Archie's come to parenting an actual human, but he can sympathize. There's people shouting, dogs barking, loud music - no one would get a good night's sleep around here, much less a baby!
"This oughta be easy," he comments to Goten, folding his arms as he looks around. "Let's go shut down that music first. HEY!" And he strides off towards the offending household. Even with people finding it hard to see him, he may very well just get in a shouting match.

Fighting ayakashi is what he wants to do. It sounds like a challenge but a fun one. So this prayer isn't exactly what he expected. At least it's better then Deku's dressing like a maid for a cafe. So....he's not about to complain.
The loud noise would make it hard to hear Archie if he wasn't loud himself. Goten glances up to him before looking around. There's practically noise coming from everywhere. It's like everything is trying to top the other.
"Wouldn't it be better just to move away from here...?" He mutters thoughtfully before perking up and following after Archie. This does seem easy enough. For someone that is hard to see, Archie does get their attention rather quick.
"I don't think they're going to turn it down even if you ask."

Besides, they're just a bunch of teenagers having a house party, from the looks of things. He remembers that age. He's not that old, right?
Too bad the party's indoors, and safely out of rainstorm-range. "Okay, new plan." he says, slipping past some oblivious mortals to get inside the house, "let's just find their stereo and break it."

He just sticks close to his god, stepping around the teenagers as they head inside...which is even louder and more crowded. If anyone is talking, they're yelling or screaming over the radio to be heard.
Goten makes a face, frowning as he cups his hands over his own ears to try and shield them from the booming music. It feels like the whole house is vibrating with the beat. The radio would probably be in the living room, right?

"C'mon, stick close," he says, placing a big hand on the kid's shoulder as they move through the crowds. Goten's not the type to wander off or get lost, but they still oughta stick together. Luckily, the radio is incredibly easy to find, given all the noise, and it takes approximately a minute for him to track it down, and then a second to yank the plug out of the wall. That's far from a permanent solution - in fact, the teenagers are already yelling about the music going out. Archie follows his first instinct and lifts the radio to his shoulder. "Great, let's get goin'!"
The god of petty theft and his shinki, everyone.

He blinks up at him when he feels the weight of his hand on his shoulder. Goten gives a small nod before trailing along with him. Once the music cuts off, Goten uncovers his ears. The yelling doesn't really even get his attention. He stares up at Archie before laughing. That is one way to do it! The music has stopped, so they are one step closer to completing the prayer.
"Right!" Goten grins, giving a quick mini salute before heading out.
The teenagers don't seem pleased at all. Being able to go unnoticed makes it too easy and almost takes the fun out of things.
"Let's get the dogs next!"
