A [ Shopping ]
i. May 1st, OTA
[After the disaster that was Amaterasu's pincic and the very tense days that have followed it, Ren has been in desperate need of getting out of the house and doing something for himself. Or mostly for himself. Besides, taking a break from work to have fun is what Golden Week is all about, isn't it?
So today he can be found flitting in and out of at least one dimly-lit shop full of mostly black clothing, spending far too long in a small shop contemplating coffee and tea choices, and standing outside a paper shop like he hasn't decided if he wants to go in or not.
Late in the afternoon, he can also be found rolling a plastic kiddie pool almost as tall as he in down the street. At least he's being careful not to run into anyone who doesn't seem to see him.]
ii. May 2nd, closed to Shun
[So around midday on the 2nd, Ren sends Shun this text:]
kurosak-ki~ ( ﾟ▽ﾟ)/ i want your advice on something~ could you meet me at [location]? i'm in the back (*＾-‘) 乃
[The location given turns out to be a small thrift shop, and Ren's distinctively mess red hair can just barely be seen over the top of some of the racks near the back of the store, just like he said.]
iii. May 3rd until mid-afternoon, OTA
[Today has a very specific goal and that is to find The Perfect Water Gun. In this noble pursuit, he's already bought several small-but-larger-than-pistol-sized water guns as well as another much larger one, which all all weighing down the bag in his hands.
In his preoccupation with find another place to look for more, he's stopped paying much attention to where he's going and suddenly--BAM. Hope he didn't run into you too hard!]
B [ Experimenting with Ayakashi - OTA ]
i. May 3rd around sunset
[All those water guns he bought earlier were for one purpose--to see what spraying shrine water at ayakashi will do (thanks for that idea, Shun). After all, he's on his own in the Near Shore more often than not, and anything he can do to ward off ayakashi would be a huge help.
So he's wandering around a park, taking aim at any small ayakashi he comes across. In fact, he had to start seeking them out in the first place because it seems to be working! But it's really only working to keep them away from him...]
ii. May 4th around sunset
[Warding off smaller ayakashi went so well yesterday that Ren decided to seek out a bigger one today to see just how big one could get before the water stopped being effective.
This was (obviously) a bad idea.
He can either be found running from the bear-like creature he pissed off, or slumped behind something to hide from it, but either way, he's covered in blight and has zero water left to deal with it. Help?]

Ren waves at him from where he's sitting behind the pool when he sees Yukine come in, but before he has a chance to say anything, two kittens--all black and black-and-white--dart across the room to investigate the newcomer and mew for attention at Yukine's feet.]

No, he doesn't got this. The cool lasts a whole .5 seconds.
The ducks are adorable and the cats are coming to him and god they're so fluffy-!
In an effort to not trip on the kittens, you know, Yukine just bends down and holds his hand out towards them.

Meanwhile Ren is just going to be over here trying not to laugh too much behind his hand and keeping an eye out in case Yukine doesn't actually appreciate suddenly becoming a jungle-gym.]

Yukine is surprised at how bold the kitten is, but slowly sits down on the floor. It'll be more stable for him, and if the kitten slips it won't have far to fall.
As for the second kitten, Yukine gently pets it, scratching it a bit behind the ears. (He seems to have a good sense for this, even if he doesn't remember why.)
Sorry, Suzugamori-sama. There... was probably something else he was going to do here? But he forgets what at the moment.]

Ren sits there watching him fondly for a bit, but eventually pushes himself to his feet and silently slips out of the room. When he comes back, it's with another, orange kitten hot on his heels and a small, crinkly sounding bag that immediately gets the other cats' attention.
Ren plops down next to Yukine (and the orange kitten immediately climbs into his lap) and hold the bag out to him.]
Do you want to give them some treats?

Once the black-and-white and black kittens on him realize that he now has snacks in his hand, they at once shift loyalty and focus their attention from Suzugamori back on him. (Heh~.)
As he gives each of the kittens a treat he asks,]

[He carefully adjusts the orange kitten so he isn't getting as many claws in his knee as it climbs to get closer to Yukine and the treats.]
The black one is Phantom. She's my favorite. Although I guess I shouldn't say I have a favorite.
[Not that the kittens can really understand it to be traumatized...]
And the other one is Tama.

Tenryuu. [His eyes narrow for a moment. It reminds him of something a little painful, although the name likely has a different meaning and the context is completely different. Trying to laugh it off he gives the orange a treat.] A noble name, is it?
And Phantom- she is very energetic and friendly, isn't she. [A treat for you~]
And Tama. There, there, you're a good kitty too! [And a treat for you~!]

Maybe a little. I named him for a friend of mine, kind of, and I think he can be very noble sometimes even if he doesn't think so.
[Tenryuu the cat is not looking particularly noble himself, though, as he bats at Yukine's hand to try to get another treat.]
Phantom and Tenryuu are the most energetic, although with Phantom that just means she likes trying to get into trouble whenever she can. Tama is already a lot calmer and she's very sweet, but she also likes starting play fights with the others the most.

He steadfastly doesn't give in to the little orange's attempt at getting another treat. It's not good to indulge cats too much, after all.
The same could be said of certain gods.]Mm. I can see how this one is trouble though. [As Phantom continues to see how high she can climb on him. But at least that leaves him free to pet the calm Tama.]

And the orange kittens claws are digging into his knee again the more it tries and fails to get another treat, so he picks up the kitten and sets him back down in his lap again.]
I try to spend a lot of time with them, since they get lonely if they're alone for too long while they're awake. And I think Tama and Phantom have been a little jealous of the ducks since they showed up.

Phantom has managed to perch on Yukine's shoulder, so he snugs his face into the cat's side. And then turns back to Suzugamori-sama, his eyes wide.]
That's right! The ducks! Ahhh, but these guys can't possibly lose to ducks.
[So he says, with each hand busy petting a kitty~
He looks over at the fountain and the plastic pool again. Ducks! Cats!
This is heaven. He's never gonna leave.]

Well, the ducks are pretty cute. [He says while rubbing a finger over Phantom's head, maybe to make sure she knows she's cute too.]
Actually, they all get along better than I expected. I've found them sleeping with some of the ducklings before. They just want to know that they're getting the most attention.
