Who: Youji, Kija, Ukoku
What: Things going wrong.
When: After this display of tact
Warnings: Blanket warning for possible violence, will update if necessary.
Youji was that spiteful person who reacted to nagging requests by overdoing it. Kija wanted to fight an ayakashi? Fine, dammit, an ayakashi they would fight. They would do it right now.
He changed clothes from a casual button-down shirt to a business-casual sports coat. He was coming at this from the angle he was familiar with-- that of the private investigator, and dressing the part helped. Part of him wished he still had his fedora, but...
Anyway. He leaned on the doorway, once he found Kija.
"Well, I'm seeing the goal here as three-fold," he said briskly. "Destroy the ayakashi, free the investigator from his inability to crack the case, and get him to notice his kid. It's the kid who prayed to spend some time having fun with his dad, so that's technically the priority, but if we can actually make a break in the case, that might answer the prayers of the investigator and even the victim's family."
And despite his realm of influence being pleasure, like playing with someone you love, it was sympathy for the detective that made him really feel competent enough to take a crack at this. The kid wasn't the problem; he was praying as much for his dad's happiness as his own fun. It was the dad, the detective, who needed to be feeling the effects of the prayer.
"Guy's got a home office. I figure the ayakashi might be hovering around in there somewhere, where he keeps his case files. We can look through them for any clues or breakthroughs the ayakashi could have blinded him to, and potentially scare it out."
The plan was more of an outline than an actual plan, at this point. There was room enough for suggestions, additions, etc. from any exemplar shinki who might venture as much. Youji was more of an action guy than a mission planner, but as much as Kija could remind him of Ken sometimes, Youji felt he'd need to at least start planning before turning him loose.

He doesn't even listen to half of this explanation, because surely they just have to eliminate the ayakashi and everything will be fine? Why would they have to take up the mantle of this "detective," whatever that is?
So, fine. Sure.]
Very well. Perhaps along the way you will have a breakthrough about the other prayer you said we were due to answer.
[Let's go, this is going to be so much fun.]

[How's this freaking teleport thing work again? He slips out a cigarette and just gets it in his mouth, doesn't light it up yet because the "kid" was about as much deliberate provocation as he really felt up to parrying the response to at this point.]
We get this done quick enough, we can skip right along to that.
[...okay, maybe a little bit more.
Anyway, teleporting, that's a thing. He gets into Kija's space and zap, they're in a tasteful office with a tasteful desk. Youji immediately opens the lowest drawer and pries out a false bottom.
He's a little pleased with himself.]
Every detective has this drawer. [He lifts out a few documents and a notepad.] It's where they keep the case that broke them.
Turn on your ayakashi sensors, will you? [He starts walking towards the door to the rest of the house, rifling through the paperwork. Gruesome case, no leads... couple witnesses... contradictory statements... He spots a few toys in the living room and ducks in there. Hopefully, the family's not home, he'll just move these toys to the desk...]

[Of course, he doesn't know what to do here until an ayakashi makes itself known, and he certainly isn't interested in going through case files... he supposes he'll gingerly look at a few things on the desk and around the room, hmm.
None of this makes sense to him. What is a detective? What is going on here??]
What are you doing? [toys...??]
you can spring the ayakashi whenever-- i don't know how/if/when it should/would manifest
How does it work, then? How many ayakashi did you fight with your previous god? [Skimming through a witness statement... there's still an unlit cigarette in his mouth so his voice comes out muffled.]
I don't know how to force the ayakashi out, so until then, setting things up to fulfill the other parameters of the [mission] prayer should be the thing to do. Either remove obstacles to him playing with his kid or create an inducement for it.
