[CLOSED]
Who: Nagisa (
shortnsweet), Makoto (
thekillerwhale) & Haru (
ephydriade)
What: Nagisa shows up at Poseidon's temple to see his friends
When: May 1st, evening
Where: Poseidon's temple
Warnings: FEELINGS
During Makoto's hilarious network post, showcasing his astounding culinary skills, Nagisa'd discovered something a bit unnerving - a missing portion of his memory. Nagisa was a god, he was meant to have all his memories from back home. But according to what Makoto remembered, an entire year was missing.
So, wanting to be around his friends, Nagisa left his own tree-top temple and headed towards where Makoto's was located. It was exactly where you'd expect to find the temple of Poseidon - by the sea. And considering how long Makoto'd been fearful of the ocean, it was almost ironic that he was now ruling over it. Somehow, it fit him perfectly.
Approaching the main door to the temple, Nagisa gazed up at the immense lighthouse that towered over the rest of the building. It was certainly a breathtaking sight, sitting on the cliff that overlooked the vast sea. It brought a small smile to his face as he knocked lightly on the door.

The cottage was still airing out. The smell of burnt mackerel lingered heavily in the air which was doubly awful because mackerel was particularly pungent when not charred into a blob.
But at least the weather was nice and the salt breeze from the ocean was helping a little bit. The warmth of spring was settling in nicely even at seaside where everything was just a little cooler.
"Hey, Nagisa" he answered with a cheerful smile. He was always happy to see his friends, even if the circumstances were still strange.
Makoto hadn't changed much in terms of now being more than just a year's difference from Nagisa. He had the same haircut, the same smile, the same style of clothes.
"Come on in" he said as he opened the door wider to invite him into the cottage.
The interior was a strange mixture of fancy and cozy. It was as if it were formed by smashing Makoto's homeliness with Poseidon's might.

He was surprised to hear the knock at the door, not really expecting to have company. He wondered briefly if someone nearby had managed to smell the horrendous, lingering scent from the burnt stew, and came to see if everything was okay. Considering the way Makoto lit up when the knock first echoed, however, told him the other had been expecting someone.
Watching as he hurriedly went off to answer it, Haru remained where he was, eyes watching the door, curious to see just who had decided to drop by for a visit.

"Hey Mako-chan," he said, speaking a lot quieter than he normally would have greeted his old friend. "I brought a candle like you said I should..."
Nagisa held up a plastic bag containing a large scented candle in a glass jar. As would be expected of him, the label on the jar read 'Strawberry Shortcake'.

"Thanks. Hopefully this will make it smell better"
He led him inside towards the kitchen where the most terrible, horrible, tragic incident had occurred. He gestured towards the kitchen table while he went off to get a match from the fireplace to light the candle.
After he had it lit and set up on the kitchen counter, he waved over to Haru, beckoning.
"Haru, this is Nagisa" he...introduced. It was really disheartening to introduce a friend to someone they were already close with.
The smell of sweet strawberries started to float up and mingle with the rank former-stew. He hoped that the strawberries would overpower the fishiness soon.

As Makoto went off to fetch the matches for the candle, Haru remained quiet, not entirely sure of what to say to the other, or if he should say anything at all. Once Makoto returned, though, his hope of avoiding conversation flew out the window as Makoto introduced him.
Nagisa... that was new, considering he didn't know anyone named Nagisa. As he thought on it some more, however, a lightbulb went off in his head. "... are you the guy from that post about the peppers?" Even if their conversation was short, he did mention knowing Makoto... and considering Makoto knew him as well, it sort of made sense.

Ah, yeah. That was me.
[ Rubbing the back of his head uncomfortably, Nagisa moved towards the kitchen table and sat down quietly. ]
...you're really lucky to have Mako-chan as your god, Haru-chan.
[ It'd been so different with Rei. Nagisa had experience befriending him from seemingly nowhere already. He could do so again, even if Rei had no memory of their past. But he knew Haru wouldn't be quite as easy. ]

At the comment, Makoto rubs his hand on the back of his neck bashfully.]
Not so lucky for lunch. Hahaha...

... drop the chan. [ he says it mostly due to the fact that they just met. though, it didn't occur to him to say "Just Haru" or "Don't use chan".
his gaze momentarily shifts to Makoto at Nagisa's comment about being lucky, and he sighs softly at Makoto's response. ]
... we'll see. [ as unconvinced as he was, hearing someone that knew Makoto say that gave him some hope. of course, he's not entirely sure he can trust Nagisa yet... ]

[ Nagisa's voice remains low and solemn as he respects Haru's wishes, if only for this one time. But it's more because of that reply than anything else Haru said. Nagisa blinks at him, before quickly turning his gaze back to Makoto. There was no way that comment didn't hurt. ]
no subject
But he doesn't show it. Makoto is pretty good at stomaching his own pain and turning it back into a smile.]
I'll just have to do my best
no subject
whatever it was, however, he's not too concerned about it at the moment, as he turns back to the stove to inspect it one last time to make sure that they had managed to get every last bit off. ]

Mako-chan's going to take great care of you, Haru-chan! Even if he sucks at cooking, he always looks after his friends! Me and the rest of the guys on our old swim team back home - he was always there when we needed someone!
[ He clenches his fists, determination to fix all this just pouring out of him. ]
And that's what I want more than anything right now - for all of us to become best friends! This whole thing is super hard but we can all make it great if we just stick with each other!
Shit. It was my turn! I'VE LET EVERYONE DOWN
It's all right, Nagisa.
[He smiles reassuringly.]
I believe we'll get there. It will just take time and effort.
Ah...now why did you want to come over again? I mean, you're always welcome over, but you seemed down when you came in.
nah i'm the failure. taking this long to reply orz
at the mention of wanting to become best friends, Haru's brows furrow. sure he was Makoto's shinki, but did was it even okay to be suddenly included in their best friends pact? he turns to Makoto when he starts to speak, and his words stick with Haru. "It will just take time and effort." great.
Makoto's question causes Haru's head to tilt, and he glances back to the other, curious to hear what he'd say. ]
shush you two. there are no failures!
It was my memory.
[ Maybe it was better to change topics anyway. It'd be harder if they scared Haru away too quickly, anyway. Nagisa sits back down, leaning forward on the table with his arms stretched out in front of him. ]
You were talking about things happening at school that I didn't remember at all.
no subject
I wonder why. It doesn't make any sense. None of this makes sense, but it definitely doesn't make sense that you can't remember your second year of high school.
