Who: Makoto Tachibana (
thekillerwhale) Haruka Nanase (
ephydriade)
What: Doing their first prayer!
When: May 3rd
Where: The Near Shore
Warnings: FREELINGS!
Makoto sat on his beach wearing a pair of jammers that he was able to buy after his offerings had become greater all of a sudden. He figured that if he were to live by the beach, he would need a pair of his own.
He was seated in shallows, the waves washing over his lap. The sound of the water bubbling and pushing around him carried words to him. He closed his eyes and let the water move over him and concentrated on those words.
Please help...Need...Want...desire....
Please Please Please Please
Makoto opened his green eyes that glowed softly from using some sort of godlike powers that he had newly acquired. This was how he listened to the prayers of the living. And now to answer them.
Picking one out of the hundreds that came to him, he pushed himself up from the wet sand and cool water then moved quickly towards the cottage. It was a little exciting! This was their first prayer and they were going to answer it together. He was sure they were going to make a good team!
"Haru!" Makoto called as he grabbed a towel from the front door, drying himself off enough before heading more inside.
"Haru! We have a prayer to answer! Our first prayer!"

At the moment, he can feel the tension rising off his shoulders as he settled more into the tub, sinking until his nose was right above the surface. His eyes shut for all of two seconds before the sound of Makoto's voice reached him. Brow twitching slightly, he took a breath before sinking down more, submerging himself into the water completely.
Talk about timing.

Unfortunately for Haru, Makoto knew exactly where to look and instinctively opened the bathroom door right after knocking.
Normally, this act was very rude due to privacy reasons or the like, but it was second nature to Makoto to do this most mornings right before school.
"Haru..." Makoto smiled as he poked his head in and saw Haru right where he knew he would be. "We have a prayer."

His eyes soon shut, as he focused on the feel of the water, bringing himself into a tranquil state. It's a familiar feeling, and one he's come to appreciate. After a moment to himself, he can hear Makoto calling out to him, his eyes opening while still underwater. Eyes shifted to Makoto's distorted form through the water, before he pushed himself up, breaking the surface and taking a deep breath once up.
Shaking his head slightly to rid of the excess water, he soon glanced up to Makoto, expression not entirely enthusiastic. "... what's the prayer?"

"Someone needs help generating business for their shop. I thought we could manage that one well enough" he answered with a soft smile.
He approached the bathtub and held his hand out to help Haru out of the tub just like he always had before.
"What do you say...Haru-chan"

He was ready to sink back into the tub, but seeing Makoto's hand extend towards him made him reconsider. Eye twitching slightly at the nickname, he reached to grip the edge of the tub, completely disregarding Makoto's hand before moving to stand up. The water splashed all around him, and he's partially glad he decided to keep his jammers on.
"I guess there's nothing else we can do." He took a moment to step out of the tub, water further splashing everywhere. Once out, he glanced towards Makoto before continuing. "Also, don't call me Haru-chan."

He watched with a slowly fading smile as the water cascaded down Haru's face and neck. His heart once again sank into the acidic pit of his stomach. The pleasant familiarity from before turned sour immediately.
Don't call me Haru-chan
That was fair. That was completely fair. They had...just met and that honorific was used only for people...that they were extremely close to.
His hand tightened slightly into a fist, but not so much for it to be noticeable. He pulled in a shallow breath.
"People pray about all sort of things. I was able to hear them out in the ocean." he explained, his smile returning. "It seemed like the easiest one. I don't want us to get in over our heads"

With the towel in hand, he immediately began to work at his head, drying his hair as much as possible before moving it down to dry the rest of him. Once he was mostly dried, he turned to look at Makoto once more, as he explained how the prayers worked.
"... fair enough." The last thing either of them needed was to deal with a prayer that was practically impossible to accomplish at their levels... or getting nearly killed. "What kind of shop is it?" He may as well ask... just to get an idea of what they'd have to do it.

"It wasn't that clear, but I think it's a restaurant of some kind? If it's not popular enough, then it could be losing a lot of business. If we give it good word of mouth, maybe it will help!" he explained. Though, that did beg the question of if he should check the business out first. Who was he to judge whether or not the prayer get answered depending on how good it is?
Or something...
"We'll head out after you get ready."
