GET OUT OF THE WAY!

[ You might have heard that warning a few blocks away as you were out and about. It's only when a small black streak about the size of a housecat slips right between your legs does the reason for that warning actually make sense... because there's a war god that just turned the corner. Her lion shinki is nowhere to be seen but she's wearing her usual battle gear and seems to be brandishing a broadsword that looks as large as she is so it's clear she's on the hunt. The humans around don't seem to take note of her presence though which is probably good since she's darting and weaving through the crowd, chasing after that tiny thing. ]

Don't let it get away!

[ Her warning could be directed to you or to her shinki. Either way, there are now two things headed for your general direction: a small black ayakashi... and a lion that just leapt from the rooftops above.

Did you notice that ayakashi seems to have some pretty grabby hands? ]

The convenience store
[ She's been running all day. That blasted ayakashi gave her a run for her money. If you've been around town, you might have seen her chasing it around. So you'll find her slumped outside a convenience store like this is a new habit of hers and her team and clearly trying to catch her breath.

Hey, it's been a long day. ]

[There was a small gleam of pink coming from behind the veil of Bishamon's long golden hair.]

I have it locked within sight, Veena. The further it runs away, the less space it has. I think perhaps Karuha and Kazuha would be the best option from here on out.

[ Leave it to Kazuma to be able to pick out the best course of action. And it makes sense, after all. Yugiha would cause too much damage and Kinuha would hardly have enough reach. ]

Is there any chance we can corner it?

[ She spots a brief shadow over them a Kuraha passes above. Good. He's still on the trail. ]

Gaiki!
Suuki!

[ And dashing forward further as the kids materialize in her hands. As quick as the ayakashi is, there's still a chance to cripple it. ]

[And the chance grows wider and wider as Kazuma recalled the city's lay out.]

Yes, take the right turn up ahead and we should be able to heard it into a dead end.

[ She picks up speed best she can, bringing Karuha and Kazuha up to eye level before calling out to the lion that's been trailing them. Hopefully, he's been listening in on Kazuma's directions. He nods in confirmation and hurries ahead, meaning to cut off the ayakashi's escape route once they have it cornered.

The thing doesn't seem panicked at all, instead continuing to run through the streets like a frightened house cat.

A good clear shot of its hind legs. That's all she needs to slow it down. ]

[A good clear shot is all that you need, Viina? That's good, that's the least that he could do. Taking advantage of his natural ability, Kazuma locked his sight on the Ayakashi's hind legs.]

Ready when you are, Viina.

[ And without a moment's hesitation, she pulls the trigger on both guns. Kazuma's aim never faltered but both shots only managed to graze the ayakashi's leg as it had bolted out of the way a mere second before it could hit. But that grazing was good enough. ]

Don't let it get away!

[ That order was fired off to Kuraha as she picked up the pace in turn. At least now their target had been slowed down. ]

[He went to town to escape the idiocy of other gods, only to find that these little demon things did exist and that no matter what, he attracted trouble. And having a war god suddenly descending upon him with guns figuratively blazing was not on the top of his to do list.

Hibari recognized her-but his fighting instincts kicked in as the black streak headed towards him again-whether it was trying to escape the god or go after him, he didn't know or care.

All that mattered was the amount of strength he put into the kick that struck the ayakashi and flung it to the side of the street. Hibari kept his fists up, in case Bishamon or the ayakashi wanted to strike him-

But oh, he was ready to fight.]

Only small fry today?

Appearances can be deceiving.

[ There's a slight skid as she turns to the direction that the ayakashi was hurled at. This one. She remembered this one as the hotheaded one who tried to start a fight when she was more than a little inebriated. Having someone with such strong fighting instinct in him might be useful in this situation.

But there's a matter of that ayakashi that's been thrown. ]

That ayakashi has been preying on the elderly.

Jinki!

[ A whip materializes in her hand and with one crack, it reaches out, wrapping itself around the fleeing ayakashi. ]

It's been draining their lives.

[ There's a grunt as she and her shinki try to pull it back. Apparently, the thing has some fight in it. ]

I don't care for the reason, only that there's a crime that's been committed.

[Really, he was happy for an excuse to fight. And since this ayakashi was causing chaos and the most immediate threat. The woman had already secured it with her whip, and despite how bad of an idea it was, Hibari rushed forward to make it stop moving with one of his fists.]

[ Well, that's a noble cause. That's something she can appreciate, at least. ]

It seems I was quick to write you off as one who did nothing but start fights.

[ There's a very small smirk at that as she pulled Jinki tighter to secure the struggling ayakashi. There's a squeak as that fist connects, causing it to flail harder in an attempt to free itself from the whip. ]

[Hibari was satisfied by the punch-not actually paying attention to Bishamon's words at first, instead to the squeak the ayakashi gave, and the stinging in his own hand. He raised it to his face, almost confused how a dark color spread slightly across his knuckles. Huh?

Well whatever, it didn't concern him right now. His eyes instead flicked to the god. Hibari was almost annoyed at her judging his actions as good or bad, but to be honest, he didn't really care that she thought he was a thug. It was that reputation that allowed him to do what he did.] Make no mistake. I still wanna fight you. But this little thing was getting in my way.

[There was a quick flash of light that had reflected off of the diamond stud off of Kazuma's vessel form as Bishamon's hafuri drew his attention away from the struggling ayakashi and towards the other shinki.]

Careful Viina... He looks to be blighted.

Blighted...?

[ Perhaps that would explain his violent nature. Still, she's placing trust on her navigator with this one. There's an almost instinctive crinkling of her nose in distaste at seeing the blight spreading though. Attention turning back to Hibari now. ]

You can fight me some other time. Get yourself to your temple or there won't be anything left of you that can fight.

[Sorry to say, Bishamon that violent nature was completely normal to him and he was dead set on attacking despite the consequences of his hand stinging.]

You really care about your oppenents that much? If it weren't for the ayakashi that needs to be punished, I would've struck you already.

[ So impulsive, Hibari. But she appreciates the backup. This ayakashi has been a pain in her ass the whole day. ]

As much as I appreciate the test of skill you've been more than eager to provide, this isn't the time.

Shuuki!

[ With that, a short dagger appears in her outstretched hand. ]

Hold it down!

[He wasn't entirely sure if that was directed at him, and he wouldn't have listened either way. But, as they had the same goals, as the ayakashi tried to wiggle itself away, Hibari brought his foot down on it. ]

I'm not here to do as you please.

[ There's time to complain later, at least the ayakashi's been held down. With that, she'll leap in, bringing the dagger down and aimed straight for the ayakashi. ]

Ruin!

[ And by the time she's got the Shuuki buried deep in the ayakashi, it's gone in a flash of light. With a breath, she gets up, locking eyes with Hibari. ]

It's clear you follow no one's orders but your own.
