[closed] no matter how many times you lose them
Who: Sheryl (
galactically) and Enomoto (
hackberrydragon)
What: Prayer #9
When: March 12th, late morning/early afternoon
Where: Narita Seiryo High School
Warnings: Does Sheryl herself count as a warning?
[Today is Sheryl's first time fulfilling a special request for a non-fan, as well as her first time actually stepping foot in a large city on Earth. "Truly, I don't do this kind of service often!" is her usual motto, and this is no different. Unlike her usual bout of bodacious cheerfulness with a heaping order of ego, however, there is grim determination in her eyes as she stands in front of a large white building, the images of a worried teenaged girl plaguing her thoughts.
That girl lost a ring. It was a special memento that her late father once more, and a one of a kind piece of jewelry created by her grandfather. Having lost earrings that symbolized a dead family member herself, it's only when Sheryl heard the story that she immediately took it upon herself to find the missing ring.
Of course, she can't do it alone.]
Whenever I lose something important, I'm only depressed for about a day. If I lose a charm, it just means that it's someone else's charm now.
[She turns to face Enomoto, gently tugging her right ear with knitted brows before she heaves a sigh. Briefly her thoughts linger at the single fold quartz earring that Alto is taking care of back home. At least it's safe, but...]
But that girl is not me... Eno, we have to find that ring.

But that girl is not me... Eno, we have to find that ring.

Suddenly she moves Eno just an inch upward, turning to face the windowsill.]
You found it?
[Her eyes squint at the location, noticing a faint sparkle coming from within. Curiosity beckons her to walk towards the windowsill.]
Hey, that is a weird place! How can anyone drop it in there?
no subject
[ No, that doesn't make sense at all. Even if she was leaning forward, it couldn't have slipped off her finger. ]
Maybe someone found it somewhere and placed it here for her to find?
[ That's probably the most logical explanation. But it's still a little concerning. Either way, he doesn't sense anything off about the ring. ]
Should we just take it and go?
no subject
[Just a random hypothesis from Sheryl, but it still doesn't make sense. She nods, carefully plucking the ring between two fingers and lifting it to her face. Such an expensive looking piece of jewelry with an intricate design... she just can't help but look on in awe.]
What you said makes more sense. Anyway, we found it! Let's give it to that girl right away.

[ so this is how prayers are handled. Who knew? But something comes to mind. ]
If it's okay, I'd like to stay in this form until we get the ring back to its owner. Something tells me that if there's something after that ring, I'll be able to pick it up easier like this.

[Sheryl puts the ring in her pocket, then shifts the hold on Eno's vessel form so it's a light yet careful grip.]
All right, I trust your judgement, Eno. [A firm nod.] If you find anything strange, then let me know.

[ He can allow himself to relax for a bit. After all, there doesn't seem to be anything dangerous coming close. Still, can't get too complacent. ]
Until we get that ring back, I'll keep my eyes peeled.

Good, good! Now don't let me down.
[She gives him a playful wink, then lifts up two fingers from one hand for a victory sign.]
That girl will be waiting for us across the street, so we have to make sure nothing funny happens.
