Where: Just outside of Tokyo
Summary: The demon from the school has reared its ugly head again and needs to be taken down.



On the evening of May 5, the Heavens suddenly receive an influx of prayers from people in and around a certain town just outside of Tokyo. There seem to be a lot of people in the area that have suddenly stopped responding normally (or at all). The situation continues to spread as the night goes on until not only is the whole town suffering from this malady, but the neighboring towns are starting to become affected as well.

With so many gods and shinki on hand - including new ones that have just appeared - the Heavens have issued a request for any available gods and shinki to go investigate what might be happening down on the Near Shore. New gods and shinki will be given the low-down on what's happening, but not much more than that.

The situation will continue to expand until just a little before dawn, when the demon finally has enough power to revive.



Drained Humans

Many humans in the affected areas are walking around despondently. Oftentimes, they are just walking into things or getting hit by things. There have been a few car-related incidents as well. Anyone who was present for the high school incident will recognize these symptoms as something that was happening to people in the school. The glazed looks, the spiritless responses and reactions. So this should be fairly familiar to some.

No One's Safe

Unfortunately, being in the town will start to wear on anyone who is there. Gods and shinki alike will find themselves growing more despondent the longer they spend in the town. All of their energy will be slowly sapped from their bodies, and shinki in particular will feel almost like their existence is draining away.

Hellish Circle

There is a large park in the center of the town. Drawn all around this park is a magic circle, large enough to encompass the whole park. There are candles around the edges of the circle, and in the center there is a cup filled with blood covered by a mask with a swirling eye pattern on it. Stepping into this circle will not only make you extremely tired and suddenly drained, but it will also bring bat-like ayakashi bearing down on you.

The Demon

The Demon itself rears its ugly head just a little before dawn, springing out from the center of the magic circle and looking right pleased with itself. It stands about 5'8" tall, so it is largely unimposing, but there is an aura about it that makes it undeniable that it is powerful. The demon will gladly fight anyone who comes at it, though most he will just shove out of the way without a second thought.

[ If she touches one on the cheek, they do not move. They sort of just. Move. And wander aimlessly. They could only be one thing-- ] W---WATCH OUT..!

[ Have a Sanae running, jumping, and tackling the nearest absent-minded human next to you. Who probably didn't need to be tackled, but Sanae is doing it anyway. ] This is the beginning of the zombie apocalypse! If they bite you, you'll become one, too!

[ She couldn't be more off. ]

No One's Safe so might as well go home
[ Damn, this turned out to be a drag. Why is she so tired? ] Ahhhhn, I jus' wanna go home and play video games now. It's just... one of those days, you know? [ Have a yawn. ]

Hellish Circle
[ She standing off to the side of the circle, looking towards the cup of blood and mask. If you happen to be nearby, she'll ask: ] That eye... have you seen it before? [ She's seen it often, but what it means in this world and what it means in her world can mean two different things. ]

Drained

[Izuku's been tugging people back onto the sidewalks, making sure nobody's getting hit by cars. He can't do too much more for them, but he can at least make sure they don't get seriously injured.

He looks Sanae's way when she starts yelling, completely bewildered. He's seen this happen before. The school incident, where the staff and the students were lifeless.]

... What?

[miraculo]

ZOMBIES--!

[ She exclaims, "struggling" with the dubbed zombie. She's putting a hand to the poor human's chin, shoving it away from her. Really, she's the one creating all of the commotion and resistance with the human, who really just seems to be flopping around. ]

I... Izuku-kun...! Go on, I can take this one...! Save yourself...!

[fullcowl]

[What.

Izuku'll just go ahead and pull the poor assaulted human away from her. They just walk away, completely accepting.]

They're not zombies. Ayakashi are feeding off of them. It's happened before.

human? zombies?!

[Amane's about to lead this human away to safety. There's a nice bench nearby, so this man can sit down and away from the road—]

What?

[—Only for someone to tackle the poor man away from her!? Amane just stare at Sanae in shock, before she quickly went over to where they are. The absent minded man is probably laying on the floor.]

What do you mean, "zombie"? What if he's not one and he got hurt?

[miraculo]

[ She's putting this poor human into a hold, gripping the man's arms behind his back. ] What...? Can't you tell-- look how he goes... Uuuaaah and ooooggha...!

[ It is true, the man is drooling and groaning.

But only because she is shifting her hold to put him into a head lock. ]

[Yeah, she's quite sure the man is making those sounds because of the head lock.]

That's because you're holding him like that. Please, let him go! I will apologise if he turns out to be dangerous after all!

[Amane doesn't want to see this poor man suffer!]

"Zombies"

[Cirno just blinks when the poor random person who was walking past her gets tackled. Zombies? What are those? Hey, wait, isn't that that shrine maiden from the mountain?]

Huh? What's a zombie?

A zombie is a--

[ Wait.

She recognizes this person. ] C...cirno?!

[ Whoops, she almost lets go of her zombie! Sanae adjusts her strategy, deciding to pin the poor guy to the ground with his arm behind his back. ] You're here now, too?!

That person doesn't look anything like me though!

[Yeah Cirno somehow doesn't register that wasn't actually the explanation.]

And yeah I guess. They said I was a god now and I need to help the people down here.

[And she now looks down at the poor guy she tackled. She's clearly confused about why Sanae tackled him.] What are you doing to that guy anyway?

[Annnnnnd LECTURING HEADCHOP ATTACK! KA-THACK!]

My lady, what are you saying!? Your followers are praying to you for help and you want to play video games!?

[And just a second ago he'd been struggling to even stand up straight. He and Sanae are actually seated down right now at a quiet, secluded bus-stop, just so that he can have some rest. To anyone that's not being head-chopped, it'd probably be amusing and interesting to see him bounce from one extreme to another. It's like he gets his bursts of energy from disapproval and outrage.]

I knew those games would rot your brain someday. I'm throwing your PBox out the moment we get back home!

BUT DAAADDDD

[ Ow ow ow owwwww!! She nurses the headchop, whining. ] Heeeey, what was that for? [ Yeah, yeah, she knows, she should be looking for ways to better help the situation, but! Everything is such a drag and she just wants to go home and relax! ] For one thing, there's X-Box and there's also Playstation-- not P-box! [ She puffs out her cheeks at him stubbornly, hand still on her head. ]

And for another, these people clearly don't need my help! Look at them, they're just staring at the wall. If they want to stare at the wall all day, that's none of my business!

YOU'RE GROUNDED

It could be called an X-Station for all I care. [He scowls back at her, radiating fierce disapproval.] Is there anything fascinating about that wall that deserves all this attention> These people are clearly not in their right minds, and they need help. And we need to give it to them--

[So much for that heroic speech. When he tries to stand up he's reminded again of why they're seated in the first place. His limbs absolutely refuse to hold up, and he collapses back onto the bench with a groan.] --...and we...we need to give it to them. [He finishes tiredly as fatigue weighs heavily on his arms and legs, making it hard for him to get up. It's hard to even lift his head, much lest his spirits.]

[Vella is far less fazed by being tackled than she should be. She kind of just raises an eyebrow.]

Is that how that works?

[miraculo]

---Absolutely! [ Sanae insists, bringing the poor man into a tighter hold. ] Zombies spread their zombie-virus by means of biting...!

[ Wait. ]

O-only, this might not be a virus at all, because it could be caused by an ayakashi curse!

[beastenderblood]

[Oh, a curse! She actually understands what that is instead of stuff like zombies and viruses.]

So how do we stop it? [Please say punching.]

Hellish Circle

[ Sephiroth stands at the edge of the circle with blood running down one cheek and his neck. He looks - pissed but that harsh, green gaze focuses on the circle. ]

No - [ Of course he's also a shinki and has no memories, but the sight before him doesn't ring as familiar at all. ] - there are ayakashi guarding it.

[ Having dealt unsuccessfully with a few of them already, he's reassessing his options. A part of him does not want to believe that he has to transform and be used by his god to beat these things. ]

[miraculo]

In my world, it can symbolize a nue-- a type of evil spirit.

[ Even if the two of them don't quite get along, oddly enough she does feel more reassured with him there. He looks like he'd be damn strong in a fight, even if she wouldn't dare name him as her own shinki. ] They're powerful, chaotic creatures that deal with erasure and chaos. But that's just in my world. For all I know, what's there in the center of the circle could be a trap!

[ She shifts her weight from one foot to the other, crossing her arms. ] Stepping into this circle will drain your energy, believe me I-- [ A sort of defeated sigh. Or maybe a yawn. She's come to realize that she's being effected, too. ] ...I tried already.

Maybe it's possible to knock that glass out of the circle...?

No, really, he's a big ole softy.

I've attempted it myself.

[ And it was a damned unpleasant experience both for the feeling of himself drifting away and the sudden swarm of ayakashi. Looking at the glass, Sephiroth huffs, frustrated that whatever is doing this won't just show itself so he can then kill it for the inconvenience it's caused him.

A green swirl begins around his right hand. The color changes to blue and ice crystals dance in the air. They swirl faster and faster in an ever tightening pattern until he unleashes the three foot spike right at the circle and the glass in the center.

The spell strikes true, sending the glass and several candles skittering over the ground. However, Sephiroth doesn't feel any different. He casts a glance at Sanae.]

Nothing seems to have changed.

[This time, when something is going super wrong, Hazel is actually around. Helping this town full of innocent people gets his attention much better than setting trees on fire, and... yelling from a distance... also gets his attention. It could only be—]

Mercy, you're gonna break somebody's spine! [—Sanae, of course. Isn't it always Sanae, doing something like this??] We've gotta stop meetin' like this. Get off the poor fella.

[Offering his hand... come on, leave that poor not-a-zombie alone.]

Re: zombies,

[ She looks at the hand offered, and she also looks as if she's about to take it, but just then the poor man struggles!

Something about being tackled to the ground makes him want to fight back, having been knocked to his senses. Which makes Sanae think that the "zombie" is only getting more aggressive. ] --No! Hazel... I...I got this!

You must save yourself, it's the only way...!

[Barry walks on up beside Sanae, nodding and yawning too.]

Yeah... we should do that. Video games sound great.

[miraculo]

Or maybe even like... watching other people play video games. [ Because suddenly she is so lazy that she doesn't feel like playing. ] Loading screens take soooo long, anyway.

Shh..Not late as hell and I swear I'll keep up this time. ANd Zombies

[Get Alice jumping because what the heck!]

AH! Don't do that! Even if they may be dangerous, we are supposed to be here to help them...Right?

Well-- yes, that's true! But we also have to stop them from hurting others! [ She tries to explain. ] We can't let this zombie-ness spread!
