009 | Where Your Demons Hide

Who: Everyone!
What: Emergency demon fighting
When: Late May 5-Early May 6
Where: Just outside of Tokyo
Summary: The demon from the school has reared its ugly head again and needs to be taken down.

On the evening of May 5, the Heavens suddenly receive an influx of prayers from people in and around a certain town just outside of Tokyo. There seem to be a lot of people in the area that have suddenly stopped responding normally (or at all). The situation continues to spread as the night goes on until not only is the whole town suffering from this malady, but the neighboring towns are starting to become affected as well.

With so many gods and shinki on hand - including new ones that have just appeared - the Heavens have issued a request for any available gods and shinki to go investigate what might be happening down on the Near Shore. New gods and shinki will be given the low-down on what's happening, but not much more than that.

The situation will continue to expand until just a little before dawn, when the demon finally has enough power to revive.

Drained Humans

Many humans in the affected areas are walking around despondently. Oftentimes, they are just walking into things or getting hit by things. There have been a few car-related incidents as well. Anyone who was present for the high school incident will recognize these symptoms as something that was happening to people in the school. The glazed looks, the spiritless responses and reactions. So this should be fairly familiar to some.

No One's Safe

Unfortunately, being in the town will start to wear on anyone who is there. Gods and shinki alike will find themselves growing more despondent the longer they spend in the town. All of their energy will be slowly sapped from their bodies, and shinki in particular will feel almost like their existence is draining away.

Hellish Circle

There is a large park in the center of the town. Drawn all around this park is a magic circle, large enough to encompass the whole park. There are candles around the edges of the circle, and in the center there is a cup filled with blood covered by a mask with a swirling eye pattern on it. Stepping into this circle will not only make you extremely tired and suddenly drained, but it will also bring bat-like ayakashi bearing down on you.

The Demon

The Demon itself rears its ugly head just a little before dawn, springing out from the center of the magic circle and looking right pleased with itself. It stands about 5'8" tall, so it is largely unimposing, but there is an aura about it that makes it undeniable that it is powerful. The demon will gladly fight anyone who comes at it, though most he will just shove out of the way without a second thought.

In Summary:
  • Help the drained people
  • Try not to get drained yourself
  • Be careful about being corrupted
  • Fight the demon
  • Have fun~

[He wasn't actually spacing out; he was concentrating on thinking, but the instant Hibari heard a voice, he swung out a tonfa at the head of the offending person. If Kurama wasn't quick enough, he'd get a blow to whatever part of him was level with Hibari's shoulder.]
herbalsupplements: (faster than that)

[Kurama's speed is all in his hands and eyes, so while he could at least try to dodge the attack properly under normal circumstances, here he just raises a hand to catch the tonfa before it his him in his chest.

It stings like hell, but there's no way he's letting that show on his face when this asshole's attacking him for being vigilant.]

I was only checking, there's no need to get hostile.

[Oh Kurama, little do you know...]
disciplineking: (yawn)

[personal profile] disciplineking 2016-10-19 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
[There was every need to get hostile, and Hibari feeling tired was one of those reasons. He yawned and backed away from the guy to get a better look at him.]

I don't like crowding. Leave me alone or I'll bite you to death.

[Another yawn and another tonfa swipe.]
herbalsupplements: (this is how it is)

[personal profile] herbalsupplements 2016-10-22 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Unless you're rabid, it'll take more than biting to end me.

[The second swipe is less of a surprise, so Kurama steps back to dodge this one entirely, like he's giving in to the guy's demands for space.]

That's a lot of yawning. Are you usually up this late?

[Hibari was still giving the red-haired demon a look, but at least his personal space wasn't being breached now. His expression did look as if he'd just woken up from a nap.

He knew he should figure out what was making him this tired; it was unusual for him, who catnapped all day. But he needed to deal with this nuisance before anything else.]

Are you trying to impose a curfew on me? Sorry, but only the Disciplinary Committee can do that.

[And that meant him, if the band on his arm had anything to say about that. He brought his weapons in front of him and spikes suddenly covered the length of each pole.]
herbalsupplements: (sure! we'll go with that.)

[personal profile] herbalsupplements 2016-10-24 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Quite the opposite. I was merely going to suggest you take a break to get some coffee or an energy drink.

[Kurama goes straight for the big-eyed innocent Shuichi routine, because whaaat the hell. This is no time to be fighting, and certainly not against some guy who thinks high school arm bands mean anything against demon magic.

I'm not here to fight, he tells himself, and hopes that the easing of his body language will help this oversized chihuahua settle down.]

[Kurama was just getting a stare from Hibari, because the innocent animal act was really not appealing to him, especially when he knew this guy was hiding some fighting strength. Those movements weren't exactly an accident.

And it was a middle school disciplinary band, thank you very much.]

Your concern is noted. However-

[Sorry Kurama, he was cranky and you seemed like a good target. Hibari shot forward, swinging his tonfa in a backhanded manner at Kurama's head again.]

I don't like mingling with others.
herbalsupplements: (has its thorn)

[personal profile] herbalsupplements 2016-11-02 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
[So much for trying to stay focused. Kurama leaps back this time--not as far as he might, but a good distance for a human--and begins debating whether whipping those tonfa to pieces would be overkill.

No. When time is of the essence, efficiency is never overkill.]

I'm sorry to hear that, but I'm afraid we have more important things to worry about right now than your feelings.

[He reaches into his hair and, with a graceful flourish, pulls out a single red rose.]
disciplineking: (disdain)

[personal profile] disciplineking 2016-11-03 01:44 am (UTC)(link)
[Kurama was welcome to try and chop his tonfas to pieces, but it was going to be pretty hard now that they had burst into purple flame. Hibari stared at the rose, but he didn't really care if the guy fought with it or whatever. If he wanted to die holding a flower, the shinki wasn't going to object.]

Too bad you don't get a choice.

[There was a purple flash, and all of a sudden instead of a tonfa, he had a pair of spiked handcuffs in his right hand, which he spun around to try and attach to Kurama's hand with the flower, and sink the spikes into it.]
