It's so easy to just twist in reflex, spinning to dig his foot straight into the side of this person's face.
It's only after the fact, when they're both (likely) falling to the ground that he registers the "yo," and recognizes the voice. The feeling that comes from that is no better. He's terribly on edge, and he might not land on his feet after a surprise mid-air kick.]
no subject
So the fact that he'd done as he'd said he would only to get kicked in the face is not something he enjoys by a long shot and the sheer intensity of it sends him reeling. Any normal kick he could have righted himself mid-air and landed in a kneeling crouch. This isn't a normal kick. Subconsciously he knows that Jae-Ha's leg is the most dangerous part of him and yet--
There's a shout of pain and surprise as Schuldig falls and only quick thinking has him teleporting at the last second to the rooftop below, although he still falls in a heep with a bloody lip and nose. He's not sure it isn't broken and he's too stunned to figure it out just now.]
no subject
Now, though, his soaring is ruined, and he falls down towards the ground. He can't properly adjust his weight in mid air, so he falls onto the roof a little further than Schuldig had, and if the temple is exceptionally old, he probably crashes right through it. Ow.
He's fine down here, though, shifting to push himself up and stare up and around at where he had gone. He'd vanished in mid air, but he saw red down on the roof—]
Loki? [That's who it was, wasn't it?]
no subject
FUCK!
[Slowly, very slowly, he starts to get up since thank goodness it was only his nose and mouth getting-- was that grazed and it did that much damage? Maybe. He doesn't know anymore. The point is his legs hurt but they aren't broken. But that one scream hurt his jaw something fierce.]
'THAT IS WHY I USE THIS WAY, DAMN YOU.'
no subject
Plus, he should check on what happened. He jumps, coming up right through the hole where he'd crashed and landing carefully along the edge. He wobbles, and he looks a little scuffed up and bruised, but otherwise he's a-okay, despite falling from the sky. Immediately, he turns to Schuldig.]
If you had contacted me mentally first, I would have kicked you intentionally. What are you doing, teleporting in front of me in mid-air?
no subject
'I seem to recall someone asking me NOT to contact him telepathically and so I replied I would TAP HIM ON THE SHOULDER.'
[Can you tell he's bitter? He's so bitter right now.]
'Your shoulder was up in the air, so I went up in the air, goddamn. And don't get pissy about me talking like this now - I can barely feel my mouth and nose.'
no subject
[He doesn't enjoy any of this. The mental prodding, the appearing out of nowhere, the constant messages... He's uncomfortable, and that's more than clear now that Schuldig isn't dealing with hiding his negative thoughts. He thinks he probably should jump away, flee, get away from this uncomfortable feeling... But he knows that wouldn't solve anything, and despite all of this he does feel bad for hurting him when he didn't intentionally mean to.
So instead, he moves closer and crouches, grabbing at his wrist to move it out of the way so he can see his dumb bloody face.]
Let me see.
no subject
'Like I'm going anywhere fast?'
[Granted, he could teleport, but right now he's just in PAIN which hasn't happened to him in literally years. There was the last confrontation with Weiss in the warehouse and before that it had probably been a decade - outside of Takatori's golf club, which he didn't count, because he let that bastard hit him.]
'You can't make it heal any faster anyway.'
[He's pretty sure...]
no subject
[Geez, he got him pretty good. He doesn't congratulate himself over it or anything, but he does think something along the lines of "wow, I wasn't even aiming." Well, his leg can do serious damage if he's not careful, and now he's left with this. His nose is probably broken, or at least seriously messed up, and his mouth is fairly bloody, too...]
You don't look so pretty yourself. [Letting go of his wrist now that he knows he's letting him see his face, he glances to the side somewhere.] Hold on. [Just like that, he stands and jumps off of the roof. Well, Schuldig won't think he's leaving if he can hear Jae-Ha's thoughts, since he's clearly looking for a well or some source of water at this temple. He jumps back up to the roof shortly after with a handkerchief that's halfway soaked, and gets right back on his knees to shove this at Schuldig's face.
He's cleaning him up here!! He's not the most gentle, because he's still bothered, but he's not going out of his way to cause pain, either.]
You can't cause yourself to ignore the pain?
no subject
[And also: he doesn't care. He's just being pedantic. It makes him feel a bit better.]
'I could, but I don't trust you not to hit me again. Need to save my strength.'
[Which is a far shorter explanation than he literally didn't trust using his powers on himself and tricking his own mind. Other telepaths had gone insane that way. Plus, he'd seen what it did to Farfarello. He wanted to keep his reflexes intact and, yes, conserve his energy in case he needed to full-blast Jae-ha into a frozen statue long enough for him to get away.]
no subject
[He waves the handkerchief a little before dabbing more at Schuldig's face, eyebrows furrowing in his concentration and annoyance. Trust issues are fine, but when the guy expressing them is the one who's been bugging him? Gosh. He doesn't even comment on the pretty thing anymore.
Really, he thinks that Schuldig's strength wouldn't be able to do anything about the strength of his leg, but then he doesn't understand his powers at all.]
It really was a reflex. If you would message my phone and ask to meet up normally, I wouldn't have such a problem. The skies are my place to be free, just like my mind. [Finished cleaning him up, he presses the handkerchief in place and moves one of Schuldig's hands up in direction to hold it. Keep it pressed there, it'll help!!
That way he can have his hands back.]
no subject
Fine. Why?
[His words are still garbled, but whatever.]
Why bother at all.
[There, six whole words he's spat around his swollen lip and broken nose. It's a bit of posturing to show off his tolerance for pain, i.e. why he doesn't need to clamp down his own pain sensors. At least he got it out instead of speaking telepathically, so Jae-ha should be appreciative, damnit!]
no subject
It's something right here. [He gestures over his own heart, glancing down at Schuldig as he does. There's a lot he can't explain to his reasoning. His upbringing isn't something he remembers, and so there's something blocking a lot of the real reasoning there, but Jae-Ha doesn't know it either. He just knows it's a feeling he has, a principle he has, and he's not the type of man to let those go.
So, he holds out his free hand to offer help up.]
It's just "right," isn't it?
no subject
That's what I thought.
[This guy. This guy isn't human and he's holding himself to human morality. It's all sour notes in his mind, even without actually reading the man's thoughts themselves. Even if he holds himself at the farthest distance he can muster without being unconscious, he still senses emotional tones. And this is the kind of sure-footed good-natured attitude he just can't stomach. Selflessness. He'd never been able to afford such luxuries and long since stopped wanting them either.
He stumbles to his feet on his own, still holding the handkerchief and thus making his words even more nasal than normal.]
Something like that - deeper than any one memory... Shinki keep that with them. No surprise.
no subject
Next time, don't sneak up on me. In fact, you'd be safer to stay out of my mind completely. If I hadn't been holding back, you'd be dead.
no subject
[Which isn't the tone of voice he's using. He sounds excited. Enthralled even.]
'I can do that too if you're not interested in staving off ayakashi impulses anymore.'
[Now he's ready to teleport away if that leg comes up to get him again.]
no subject
As much as he tries not to think about anything in particular just in case, he's contemplating bringing up his god as part of a new threat or warning. Saying he isn't alone, that sort of thing. No, he thinks that's not best to say— ugh, it's really hard to think about nothing.]
Why are you so insistent?
no subject
Leaping - that's natural for you. Speaking like that is natural for me.
[As in you're harshing my groove as much as I'm harshing yours.]
And you're interesting.
[Which is true, for what it's worth. His stance also doesn't show he's scared of Jae-ha, backup or not, for what that's worth.]
no subject
Leaping... isn't something invasive. [Right...? That's the difference, it must be. He blinks, glancing down and away as he subconsciously takes a step back. Interesting...]
I'm not very interesting at all, really... [He's uncomfortable with attention on him like that, somehow. And so he barely waits another second before he jumps off of the roof, taking off to the skies again. That was a fine way to end a conversation!! He didn't want to kick him again, if he could help it.]
Wrap
Of course he doesn't want to try catching up to Jae-ha, not like this. Even if Schuldig isn't vain, he has no interest in having a broken nose and busted lip and bruised cheeks for any longer than he has to.]
Until next time.
[And he teleports back to Loki's Hollow.]
