[OPEN] Blue Dragon goes to town
Who: Shin-ah and you!
What: Shin-ah exploring the Near Shore and experiencing massive technology shock
Where: The streets and a subway at The Near Shore.
When: May 11th
Warnings: Nothing right now.
[Shin-ah has done an awful lot of sticking close to his god ever since he arrived, and maybe because of that, he hasn't explored much. This seems like a problem, because there are all kinds of curious places and things that don't resemble anything he thinks he knows.
So today, he ventures out to The Near Shore to learn more about all of these new curiosities. As a tall guy in a skull mask, it's perhaps a good thing that most residents don't even really notice him.]
A) Smile: you're on camera!
[The residents aren't noticing him much, but the security cameras are. And as he walks into the view of one with a live display mounted to the wall, Shin-ah freezes and looks warily at the monitor.
Why is he on the wall.
He turns to walk closer—and the figure on the wall moves too! This is legitimately the most disturbing thing he's ever seen, and with his eyes, he's seen a lot, he's quite sure. Like a perfect reflection. Shin-ah squints at the wall, and suddenly shoots his left arm up. Up it goes too. Right leg out. Same with the wall. Shin-ah frowns deeply and shakes his head at the Shin-ah on the wall frowning deeply and shaking his head right back.
Right, this is war.
Shin-ah draws his sword, intent to put an end to this wicked sorcery...]
B) Subway Stowaway
[The ground had a cavernous hole in the middle of the paving. Shin-ah follows the steps down to a row of short shiny walls with three thick shiny prongs poking into each one. Beyond that is a massive chamber with people and columns and it's loud. And there's something coming, it's gigantic and going so fast and there's a single light shining from the front of it. It's full of people.
It slows and stops, and many people get off. Many different people then get on. Then it leaves again. What...just happened? It takes some fighting, but Shin-ah manages to get past the pronged monsters and joins the throngs of people at the platform, wanting a closer look at what's going on as another one approaches and stops at the station like the last one.
He didn't mean to get eaten by it.
But the crowd was tight, and Shin-ah found himself swept along with them as though trapped in a river current. The door shuts, and he panics a little—this is scary! It's loud, it's packed, he doesn't know what it is or where it's going. He looks around the crowd with an expression of clear distress.
Help?]

Help?]

Hazel is indeed in the kitchen, doing whatever he's doing to get the snacks ready, but he puts that aside to come out and see... this? Well then.
Things he expected about this Shin-ah kid, from Jae-Ha's descriptions:
1. an actual child
2. not that big mask-fuzz combo
3. not Jae-Ha scaring him into a corner
so this is all very strange to walk into, even in his own house. Um...]
Uh... welcome to the house? Jae-Ha, what're ya doin' to the boy?
no subject
[Ah, but Hazel enters, and Shin-ah is once again spared. Jae-Ha blinks, standing up straight again and turning to face Hazel with a wide smile. Haha... He can explain.]
I was trying to get him to take off his mask, but it seems he's too shy. Shin-ah, this is Hazel! Come say hello. [He gestures at Shin-ah now, come on, he'll behave, he's behaving... Go greet Hazel!!]
no subject
He feels a bit awkward from having been caught cowering in the corner, but he rises back to his feet and calmly approaches to a conversational distance and lowers his head respectfully.]
Shin-ah... it's nice to meet you, Hazel.
no subject
The pleasure's mine, kid. You're taller than I thought you'd be. [sigh, he's so small,] I got us some snacks if you're hungry.
no subject
He expects Shin-ah to be hungry, though, so he looks over to him at the suggestion.]
no subject
Shin-ah decides then and there that he likes Hazel. He nods quickly to the suggestion, though he's also paying attention to Jae-Ha's reactions. Jae-Ha is the one who knows Hazel, so watching his nonverbals will make it a little easier to gauge any uncertain situations, like whether it really is okay to accept an offer for snacks. This is unfamiliar territory, after all.
But it seems all is well, so he's just waiting to see where Hazel leads them.]

Jae-Ha said you'd be lookin' for somethin' to munch on, so I went 'round to the store and got a couple of those platter things with the cheese and crackers. You're welcome to however much ya want, we've got plenty besides—and I reckon we can take it to the other room and have a seat. Don't wander off anywhere, it's a big house.
[Or: they are doing this, and since Hazel is Small and they are Not, everyone gets to help him carry cheese platters. Jae-Ha does, at least; Hazel is already handing him the bigger plate. Take this, thank you.]
no subject
[That's to Hazel, but as he moves to head into the next room where they can sit and chat, he slides closer to Shin-ah to speak to him, too.] Hazel has helped me countless times. He's a good man.
[So, just complimenting as they walk into this room... Look, he's even leaving off the teasing about his cute accent. He sets the tray down, finally, and Shin-ah can finally help himself to crackers with cheese.]
no subject
He nods his agreement with Jae-Ha's thanks to Hazel-- Yes, thank you-- and takes a platter as well, marveling at the spread. They're going to get to eat all of this? Really? It's a feast. He sets the platter he's carrying down beside Jae-Ha's and then... Looks at him. Because he isn't sure if it's okay to start now or not.
Hazel? Jae-Ha? Someone... help.
He wants the cheese.]
no subject
Somethin' wrong? Help yourself.
no subject
[Silly shy boy. Jae-Ha grabs a single one for himself and then takes a seat and gestures for Hazel to come sit next to him. Come here...]
Have you run into anything that you have questions about, Shin-ah?
no subject
He slows at the question, however, wanting a minute to think about that. Finally, he nods once.]
How is Hazel important to you, in addition to being your god?
[You asked..........]
no subject
Yes, how is he important, he wants to hear all of it!!]
no subject
O-oh! You want to know something like that? [He can feel Hazel staring at him and he doesn't want to even look!! Jerk, he could have helped him out here... Here Jae-Ha had said he'd tell anyone and everyone, but now when it comes to someone he can't help but feel a brotherly connection with...
Well, it's a little awkward. He clears his throat.]
To make a long story short, he's my boyfriend. [No one look at him...]
