I Put a Spell On You [open]
Who: Leo and whoever!
What: Two options: Leo working with his tome Brynhildr or Leo being exhausted in his temple.
Where: Odin's temple
When: May 11th
Warnings: None at the moment
Option One
[Leo couldn't believe it. He'd woken up this morning, expecting nothing in particular to be different, and instead found Brynhildr in his kitchen cupboard. How it got there was beyond him, but frankly? He didn't care. He missed having his tome handy, able to do something when his shinki were otherwise occupied.
And maybe it was a bit of a security blanket. So what?
Either way, he's out in the front of his temple today, making everything levitate or randomly growing (and dismissing) trees out of the ground while he practices to make sure he hasn't lost his touch. If you've seen his god power, it almost looks like he's using that except there's a distinct dark purple smoke around everything that's levitating.
Leo is also smiling. He so rarely smiles here.]
Option Two
[Later that day, Leo is considerably less happy. He'd taken a moment to check his phone to see if he'd forgotten anything important...and was hit by how crazy things are right now. Sora's annoyed at him, Saix and Niles are...Saix and Niles, he's still trying to learn more Japanese, the books he wants never seem to be available, and on top of that he's getting a headache that doesn't seem to want to leave. It was gone earlier today, but now it's back.
He can be found in his temple, either scribbling notes in his notebook on what he's reading or massaging his temples in an attempt to stave off the headache]

Except as he heads towards the temple of Odin, he can't help but notice that the young prince was not....looking too good.]
Is aught amiss, my friend?
no subject
[Leo looks up, momentarily not even sure that someone had spoken to him until he spots Aymeric.]
Ah. No, everything is fine. [More or less, but the bags under his eyes say differently.] Nothing's on fire, at any rate. Can I help you?
no subject
Your face says otherwise.
[Sorry Leo but he won't beat around the bush for this one.]
I was hoping to inquire about our elusive young 'god of light' [SORA] but it seems something else has piqued my concern.
no subject
Who, Sora? What's he done now?
[Focusing on that topic yep.]
no subject
Mayhap we should talk elsewhere. Is there a room where we can talk in private?
no subject
[Leo stands, leading the way to his library. It's nice and spacious and most importantly quiet.]
no subject
[Yes, he has an idea that it was more than likely an annoyance but again, Aymeric usually lets insults slide off him. Following Leo into the library, he only takes notice of the seats around more than how nice it is. As long as it's quiet then all good. Once both were comfortable, Aymeric's face turns to concern.]
Now that we are away from prying eyes...how long have you been not feeling well?
[Headaches count for not feeling well ok.]
no subject
I haven't been sick, if that's what you're asking. I'm used to headaches. I hardly notice them.
no subject
Being used to something does not make it alright. Again, your face gives away more than your words do. When was the last time you fully rested?
[Pot. Kettle. Black.
But at least he's getting a bit better here]no subject
[He chuckles darkly]
When I was four years old, maybe?
no subject
Why haven't you? What is important enough in order to forgo an essential matter?
[He sounds concerned and worried. Honestly, he'd be the same way if Lucia was not around.]
no subject
Do you really want to know the answer to that? I promise you, it isn't pretty.
no subject
[That may explain something]
I can stomach what you say.
no subject
[He sighs]
Four years old was when my mother had enough "coddling" me and made me use my then-burgeoning magical ability to kill one of my half-siblings. It's only snowballed from there.
no subject
Aymeric's eyes widen a little but because at such a young age. Leo's family had him...shit that has to be rough. His eyes give away his emotion but there's no pity. Leo doesn't seem the type who would appreciate that.]
My apologies. That should be the very last thing anyone should do so young.
no subject
Perhaps not, but it was hardly uncommon in my father's court. That's what happens when you refuse to stay faithful but at the same time insist on bringing every single woman you ever slept with home with you.
[There's surprisingly no bitterness]
But after that it was lessons and tactics and murder and manipulation and gods know what I may have blocked from my memory entirely until my youngest sister, Elise, who is here as a shinki, was born and three of us decided no more. Then it was just lessons and tactics until my adopted sibling...actually, trying to explain everything that happened with Corrin would take hours and more alcohol than I currently have.
no subject
Mayhap when you desire to speak of it, we can at my temple. There is a fully stocked wine cellar I rarely use.
[Yep, he's inviting you over for drinks in the future. At least they can be mature men and not get drunk off their asses. But hearing that his sister was in this world and a shinki to boot, well, it made him worry. Mainly because what if someone from Eorzea showed up and died, losing all of their memories? And his first thought went to Estinien. All he could do is pray to Halone that it would not happen because he's terrified of him dealing with much more. Nay, he's had enough....let him rest.]
To handle such responsibility with such malice against you and your siblings, it is hard to imagine. And it was from this that you work until you could no more?

My eldest brother is now king, and growing up I knew I could never take the throne--not because I'm a bastard, but because I'm just not meant to be a ruler. Even after the "games" ended, I still had to study to prepare myself to support him and ensure his decisions are carried out in ways he as king can't afford to.
[Or: Leo is going to be the hate sink for his brother's rule and he is entirely prepared and okay with this]
no subject
[He knows how tough it is, not because of being a bastard but to run a country is very tough and usually thankless. The scar on his stomach area is proof of that little notion.]
It seems those who are bastards and orphans are the ones who shape nations. Or from what I have witnessed.
[All people count of course but given he and Haurchefant are bastards and Estinien is an orphan...well, yeah.]
no subject
[Much easier than trying to change a country]
Bastards and orphans can go places legitimate children can't and do what they won't because what is reputation to us?
no subject
Is that it? I will not lie and not say I never had the same sentiment when I earned my position as Lord Commander.
[Zephirin was pissed but ehhhhhhhhh who gives a damn]
no subject
Well, it may be because we as a general rule seem to be prettier. Still, if everyone already expects me to be harsh or unforgiving because I wasn't hugged enough as a child, it makes it easier for me to be just that when the time calls for it.
no subject
However...if you are ever seeking any council or just an ear to listen, I will not hesitate to come.
[That and wine cellar.]
no subject
I may just do that at some point. Thank you, Aymeric.
no subject
Of course. I would do anything for a friend.
[You're a good person Leo, he can not see you as a stranger or 'just some guy in the same pantheon'.]
