Who: Hibari and Goku mostly, possible others.
What: Some asshole is treating his dog terribly. He will die.
When: 5/12 ish
Where: A sketchy neighborhood in the Near Shore
Warnings: Hibari. Animal Abuse. Copious amounts of violence, most likely.
It had been quite awhile since Hibari had been to the Near Shore, but since the cherry blossoms had died down, it was easier to venture out. That good feeling did not last very long when the shinki walked past a man who was almost literally dragging a large fluffy puppy down the street with no regards for its safety.
It was a couple minutes later that Hibari stalked the guy to a run down looking house, leaving the poor dog chained up outside. He heard the sound of barking and loud talking inside, so either that was that guy's personal animal, or it was being set up for a fighting ring.
Either way, at seeing the condition of that little fluffball, something inside Hibari snapped and his tonfa came out before he could even blink. The shinki didn't stop until he heard a noise behind him, turning his head to see someone he hadn't seen in a long time. "What are you doing crowding me?"

So, he'd followed. And he'd realized quickly that someone else was doing the same. The scent was familiar... Hibari? He hadn't seen him in a while. Was he tracking down the guy, too? Oh well, the more the better. If this guy was going to treat animals like that, he needed to be taught a lesson, and he knew Hibari would be happy to help. Probably.
"Huh? I'm not crowdin'," Goku whispered, albeit loudly. The guy might have been inside, but he was still trying to be quiet! "You're followin' that guy too, right?"

"I'm going to bite the man who would treat a little dog like that to death. And then some," Hibari growled, his expression much darker than when he normally started a fight.
The next obstacle for him was the fence, but with a couple easy moves, Hibari was already hopping up it and over. "Are you gonna come?"

Hibari jumped the fence, and it didn't take long for Goku to follow suit just as easily. Empty cans and such were littering the ground on the other side, crammed along the edges like they'd been blown or swept aside and out of the way. Probably a good idea not to step on those.

"Don't make a sound." Hibari said in a low voice, though the tone was more more gentle than it would've been; he was staring at the large puppy, slowly reaching his hand to try and get it to trust him.
He didn't even flinch when the puppy bit it out of fear and backed away, just sitting in the same space, hand held out. "Take care of that guy who thinks he's being stealthy."
The one who'd come from somewhere on the other side of the house, coming at them with what looked like some iron pipe.

He really couldn't blame the dog for biting. In a situation like this, the poor thing probably didn't trust anyone. But that's what they were there for. In fact, just as he was about to kneel down and move closer to the dog to unhook it while Hibari had it distracted, a tiny noise caught his attention. And just as Hibari mentioned it, Goku was already looking up.
"No problem." It was just a guy with a pipe. Or a bat. He couldn't tell in the semi-darkness. But either way, he knew he wouldn't be any kind of match. He hated hurting people on the Near Shore, but anyone that would treat an animal like that deserved it.
So, with that in mind, Goku rose to his feet and rolled his shoulders, and launched himself at the poor guy. He wouldn't know what hit him.

He had a much gentler look on his face as he spoke softly to the puppy than anyone would probably see on him ever again. "It's okay, little one. Don't be afraid."
The bleeding hand was extended again, but Hibari's body language and tone of voice seemed to have calmed the puppy enough that he could get close enough and loosen the chain around its neck.
Hibari looped it over the dog's head and tossed it away, gently running his fingers through the matted fluff on the top of its head. He could hear the sounds of fighting and could only hope it was gruesome and bloody.
"Once you're done cleaning up that trash, come over here and introduce yourself." Already the shinki was trying to form a plan. Was it better for the two of them to get the dog to safety and then destroy this place, or rip them all to shreds and take the dog after?

The weapon was picked up, thrown well over the fence and out of the guy's reach. "Maybe next time you'll think about what you're doin' before you go an' hurt innocent animals."
There were other guys in the house, though, and at least one other dog. If this guy had said anything to them, they'd be out here too, or they'd at least know what's going on. But if they're treating a puppy like this, they're probably treating other dogs just as bad.
Hibari's voice got his attention, and Goku turned back to the puppy. If it had no problem with Hibari, he should be fine. Squatting down next to it, he smiled and reached out to ruffle the puppy's ears. "Hey little guy! You don't gotta worry about anythin' else, okay? No one's gonna hurt ya."
Goku quickly glanced back at the house, though, and at the silhouettes through the windows that were already moving. But to where? "Those other guys're gonna be out here too, probably. D'you wanna call the cops or take care of 'em ourselves?"
no subject
"I don't trust the police to get anything useful done. This puppy won't move from this spot for now. I'm going to bite them all to death. " The shinki stood up, flicking out his tonfas, now covered in spikes. There was something a little more than dangerous in the way he was standing.
He began to stalk to the front door, drawing back a leg to kick the shoddy door down in a resounding crash. Goku would have to catch up if he wanted any of the action.
