010 | Relief and Rescue
Who: Everyone!
What: Cleanup and moral support
When: All day May 16
Where: Just outside of Tokyo
Summary: It's time to get rid of the mess that that demon made!

The attack by the demon recently has left the surrounding area in a very sorry state. Not only are some people still hospitalized or slowly recovering from the affects of the draining of their life force, but a lot of nasty accidents happened during the time that people were walking around like they were dead to the world. It's been attributed to an odd natural disaster, and many think it may have been an illness that caused it.
The Heavens have decided to send any available gods and shinki down to help out in the relief efforts. If they try hard enough, they should be easily seen for the times when they are helping people out, so it shouldn't be a problem.
On top of that, some new arrivals have suddenly appeared. Amaterasu has left them little handwritten notes pinned to their shirts:
'These people need your help! I'm sorry to throw you into things like this, but please do what you can.
☼ Amaterasu ☼'
And yes, she has doodled little suns next to her name.

Care
There are a lot of people who were left hurt because of the incident with the demon and they are still trying to recover from it. From broken bones all the way to mental trauma, these people have seen a lot of crazy stuff and they aren't feeling so hot. Any kind of care is viable, but you might also want to just be an errand-runner in order to help the qualified people who are already doing a pretty good job of helping these poor folks out.
Food
A fair number of homes and stores managed to get destroyed amidst everything going on with the demon, so there's a lot of work for the neighborhood to do in helping them out. Whether by helping to rebuild what has been broken or by just handing out some free food to the people who need it. Of course, you might also take some food for yourself. Hopefully you're not a horrible enough person to just steal from the homeless~
Literal Cleaning
And here's where the fun comes in. The buildings that need to be rebuilt and the streets that need to be cleaned up are all under works and you can help in any way you deem worthy. You might carry loads or actually put forth the effort to help rebuild some lost homes, it's up to you. Of course, if you set about helping out in this way, you might notice little fairy-like spirits flitting around each of the Near Shore residents who are working hard to help each other out. The little spirits shine brightly and seem to shy away if approached, but they titter happily anytime the person they're following does something nice.
Banquet
After the day is done, the Heavens have a special treat set up for anyone who helped out - a large banquet in the Meeting Hall back on the Far Shore. Just like any other banquet, there is food and booze of every kind available. But also, the small tittering bright white spirits are in attendance, following around any Far Shore resident who helped out today. You might find yourself with a new friend or two who won't leave you alone, who keep giggling anytime you're kind, and who don't seem to be able to talk and only exude delight and good feelings.

[It's unfortunate how full the children's ward of the hospital is right now, and though Maria wasn't here to know what caused all this, the note that she'd found pinned to her shirt said to do what she could. She'd be inclined to anyway, since it's clear that the people of this town need it, but all this strange talk about gods might've held her up a bit longer in thought without the prompting.
In any case, there's a woman with high-curled pink hair sitting in the children's ward, a few of the injured kids sitting around her as she finishes a song. It makes them smile, at least, and with her own smile, Maria extends her hand to them.]
Come on, sing with me. It may not heal your physical wounds, but music can heal other things.
[It's not hard to keep the attention of the children on her with the music, and as she starts singing the same song again, a few of the children chime in alongside her.]
...the stars were born,
the songs were born,
the Lulu Amel smiled for eternity...
[Maria's voice is powerful enough to carry through the corridors, and is rather clearly that of a professional musician. Whether anyone is drawn by that sound or comes in by chance, she'll carry on until the end of the song, then turn towards whoever came in.]
Have you come to join us?
ii.
[Running errands might not be ideal, but Maria doesn't know what else she can do here, between keeping up morale. And it's not like she's in bad shape, so despite the high-heeled shoes she's wearing, she's running deftly between corridors, arms full of medical supplies, dodging people left and right with remarkable skill.
Anyone who looks like they've come to help as well is likely to end up with her stopping in front of them, her breath a little heavy, but otherwise fine.]
Excuse me, but do you know which ward these are for?
--
[B: Cleaning]
[While she's not the most practically dressed for this sort of thing, as the day goes on Maria notices a group of people seemingly struggling with moving supplies for rebuilding a house. A few of them even look like they might've discharged themselves from hospital early to help, and it's impossible to stop the urge to run over and help them out.
So a few minutes later, she's making her way across the city with a few Near Shore residents in tow, a large pile of wood in her hands and the rest of it being carried between the others. It still looks like they're having some trouble, though.
Trying to rebalance the weight for a moment, Maria waves a hand to the nearest likely-looking person she can see.]
If you're not too busy, could you help over here for a moment? We just need to get this a bit further down the road.
--
[C: Banquet]
[While she wasn't expecting a reward for helping, Maria can't deny the banquet is a pleasant addition. After eating enough to restore what energy she gave over the day, she lingers around the tables with a glass of white wine in her hand, watching the strange sprites titter around her.]
...Hello? [She tries to greet one, but it merely giggles and flutters around her head once more. It's rather strange, but she's not familiar enough with this place to know much more about that, and so it is she ends up tapping the shoulders of a few of the people nearby and pointing to the spirits.]
Are these common here? I've seen them around all day, but I'm not sure what to make of them...or any of the rest of this place, really.
no subject
So many children had been hurt in the attacks upon her arrival in this world. She had done her best to heal those that she could but knew that it just far too much for her alone without pushing herself beyond her limit. Who would she help then?
Lost in thought, she does not register the song has ended until someone speaks to her and Freyja snaps back into focus with a hurried nod. ]
Y-yes, I am! I came to sing too... if that's okay.
no subject
I think they'd like that. Isn't that right? [She directs the question to the crowd of children, and most of them clap and cheer. There are still some who look a little downcast, though, and Maria's gaze lingers on them before she turns her head back to Freyja.]
I'd welcome it, as well. Your music might reach where mine couldn't.
no subject
When Maria gaze turns on her, Freyja gives another bright smile and nod. ]
I think I might be able to help some. [ She could use the power her voice to heal them the best that she could. Hopefully it would be enough to help them. ] Everyone! You better be ready!
The stars and people and apples are all the same,
Made up of quanta, spores, and atoms flying round!
[ Even though she is a goddess now, she is still and idol at heart and it shows as she steps back since this song is accompanied by dance too. There's a power to her voice, a gentleness that expresses itself through the new power in her voice. It is not an immediate effect but slowly wounds begin to heal themselves not just on the children either but anyone that can hear her voice, offering some respite from the lingering pains.
She can't sing forever but she can do this much and steps closer, offering her hands to the children with a grin and gestures for them to come join her dancing. ]
Once you fall in love, you can’t get enough!
Like the fizzing of soda, a rising updraft,
Put your palm over mine, let my warmth into you.
Dance, dance, join dance!
no subject
With a turn of the head, she sees abrasions fade slowly under the music, and her eyes widen a little at the sight of it. So music really can have that kind of power in a place like this, can it...?
The moment of thought is only a brief one, and as the healing children become more excitable and try to join the dance, Maria stands up to help with them. Without much apparent effort, she picks one up and twirls them around once, smiling as they laugh and a few of the other children crowd around her. With both of them helping, all of them can join in.
As she bends down to take hands and encourage movement, she murmurs quietly enough not to interrupt the song, and to eager agreement from the children.] It's beautiful, isn't it, little ones?
no subject
She misses the other members of Walküre being here with her but she knows they would be happy that their songs were still helping people even though they were all so far away from one another now. Everything has been so busy that she has not had much time to think about it (or rather, she has not allowed herself the chances to be sad) but now watching the children dance... Freyja is reminded of home and her promise.
Perhaps things would be fine until she was able to return. She could make this world smile too before taking on the galaxy and a war against her own home.
Crouching, she continues to smile at the children around her as they cheer and clap. Others happily agreeing with Maria's question and taking about twirling as they sing the two songs they had just learned. ]
They'll be able to play and laugh now. I'm really happy...
no subject
It's hard to curb her curiosity, though, and Maria considers what she knows of her situation for a few moments before she figures it can't hurt to ask.]
Was that a power you had in your own world, or one that came to you here? The strength of music is its own wonder, but the ills it heals normally aren't the physical ones.
[And something about powers was mentioned in what little explanation she got before being rushed out here. Maybe she can hope for something of her own - in the course of that thought, her fingers run momentarily over the string of her necklace, whatever's hanging off it hidden under her shirt.]

Being a singer herself, Sheryl knows a professional when she hears one. Not a single off tune that she can detect.
It seems that she's been caught either way, leaning on a doorway with her arms folded across her bust, her expression thoughtful.]
Depends. Do you mean join in with the singing?
[She cants her head to one side, unfolding an arm to tuck a strand of her hair behind an ear.]
no subject
If you'd like to, I wouldn't refuse it. It wouldn't be fair to only give them my music to lighten their hearts a bit. [That movement reminds Maria a little of herself, really, so there's a certain interest to the proposition. Hearing new songs is always something she enjoys, but a similiarity like that would make the differences more fascinating to hear.
Reaching her hand out towards a few of the more energetic children, she keeps her head turned towards Sheryl.]
But if you'd prefer to sing your own song than join in with us, I'm sure they'd enjoy that as well.
no subject
This newcomer understands the power of song, that much she's 100% certain.
Pushing herself off the doorway, she casually strolls inside with a smile, hand on hip. If there's anything that catches her immediate interest, it's singing her own songs to a potential audience.]
Well then! Would you like to listen to it, my lovely boys and girls? My song, that is.
no subject
In any case, at the largely ecstatic reaction, Maria gives a satisfied smile and turns properly back to Sheryl.]
I think we can call that a resounding "yes". I'll be honoured to hear your song as well.
no subject
Turning to glance at Maria, she gives her a determined look.]
In that case... [She pulls out a golden microphone from her purse, then grins at everyone in this room.] Everyone! Listen to my song!
[Sheryl positions herself, shifting her feet into elaborate dance moves that she's long since memorized from constant practicing. No matter where she goes, she's still a performer, making sure her voice is as top-notch as ever, too. Her song is very catchy, even the lyrics convey love. Though her power can't heal wounds, she at least tries to make sure the spirits of the children are uplifted during times of despair, their strength increasing bit by bit. Maybe she can make some of them dance!]
Darlin', come! I'll hold you, got it?
No you, no life, I'm really serious!
Need your heart and need your love
Oh, yes! Give me a sweet kiss!
Even if this love is false, just go!
You only get one shot, be happy!
No more chance! No rules!
I'll get you! Lalala, I'll give it all to you~
no subject
A few of the braver children move closer to Sheryl, one or two even trying to imitate her dance routine before giggling and moving away to watch again. Others hang further back, but are rapt with attention, and some link hands to dance together rather than alone.
The sight of it all brings another smile to Maria's face - this is the true beauty of music, the one she has to always keep in her heart. Even if some things are beyond its power, others are much more receptive to it.]

[ he peeks around a door, though he's stepping out a little more when eh sees the kids looking at him curiously. ]
It sounded really nice.
no subject
Did you hear that? He enjoyed your music too. [True, it was primarily her voice that would've carried, but it was a group effort. It would seem remiss not to recognise the kids.
Looking back to their visitor, Maria waves a hand in greeting.] You're helping here as well, aren't you? It's going better than I expected with how fast we were sent here.
[B: Cleaning]
[Especially once he notices the state some of the people Maria's with. His personal stance on injured people pushing themselves too hard is basically "only I'm allowed to do that". Just give him a second to adjust pace and insist on taking some of the load from the individuals having the most trouble, gruffly brushing off any thanks they might offer.]
[An FYI about Yuri's god ability, should you want to play around with it!]
no subject
Thank you. I was worried for a moment they'd keep pushing themselves too far, but it's good to see so many people helping. Even if the call for it was a little unorthodox.
[Notes on shirts seems even stranger when taken with the idea that this is some heavenly mission, but Maria's been avoiding thinking too much about that for the moment.]
late as fuuu please forgive me orz
I'd be willing to bet most of these people call this place home. Can't blame them for wanting to help. As for us... you mean the notes?
no subject
It is good to have everyone pitching in, but they do still need to look after themselves as well. And yes, I meant the notes - it seems like a weird way to dispatch us on a mission like this.
A
Oh! Do you not mind? I'm sure I'm not as good a singer as you... As long as I'm not in the way!
[She tucks her hands at the base of her back as she waits for an answer.]
My name's Kairi, by the way.
no subject
I'm sure none of us would mind. Right? [She directs the question to the gathered children, several of whom pipe up with encouragement to join in.
With her hands settled neatly in her lap, Maria gives a polite, but slightly formal bow of the head.]
Maria Cadenzavna Eve. It's good to meet another of the people here to help.
no subject
[She sits down amidst several of the children, almost feeling like she's back in school.]
There are all kinds of ways that we can help each other. Singing's hardly a bad one.
[Kairi smiles at the children, and several seem to nod in agreement to that as well. She decides to reach out and hold the hands of one child to each side, seeking their attention with her eyes.]
Okay, I'll try to follow your lead, since you know the song better than I do.
no subject
With a more confident tilt to her mouth, Maria gives a firm nod.]
Right. Singing can heal wounds of the heart, even if it can't do so for wounds of the body. That's why I'm here.
[At the offer to lead the singing, Maria waits for the children to settle again before she opens her mouth and begins the same one again. It's slow enough to be easy to follow, the melody almost like that of a nursery rhyme.]
The apple floated in the sky.
The apple fell down to the ground.
The stars were born.
The songs were born...
[And so it goes. Maria's take on the vocals is quite invested, running deep with emotion and significance, that of an important song being put to use.]
no subject
...floated in the sky.
...fell down to the ground.
...were born.
...were born...
[But she's glad to be there, since she does agree that there are kinds of things that make people feel better even if they don't heal physical wounds. It seems to be even more effective with children, she thinks, looking around at the smiling faces.]
no subject
Just the smiles of the children as she looks over them do a lot to warm her heart.]
That was wonderful, all of you. [Looking over to Kairi specifically, she cocks her head a little.] Did you enjoy yourself as well? It's definitely a song to be sung together rather than alone.
