010 | Relief and Rescue
Who: Everyone!
What: Cleanup and moral support
When: All day May 16
Where: Just outside of Tokyo
Summary: It's time to get rid of the mess that that demon made!

The attack by the demon recently has left the surrounding area in a very sorry state. Not only are some people still hospitalized or slowly recovering from the affects of the draining of their life force, but a lot of nasty accidents happened during the time that people were walking around like they were dead to the world. It's been attributed to an odd natural disaster, and many think it may have been an illness that caused it.
The Heavens have decided to send any available gods and shinki down to help out in the relief efforts. If they try hard enough, they should be easily seen for the times when they are helping people out, so it shouldn't be a problem.
On top of that, some new arrivals have suddenly appeared. Amaterasu has left them little handwritten notes pinned to their shirts:
'These people need your help! I'm sorry to throw you into things like this, but please do what you can.
☼ Amaterasu ☼'
And yes, she has doodled little suns next to her name.

Care
There are a lot of people who were left hurt because of the incident with the demon and they are still trying to recover from it. From broken bones all the way to mental trauma, these people have seen a lot of crazy stuff and they aren't feeling so hot. Any kind of care is viable, but you might also want to just be an errand-runner in order to help the qualified people who are already doing a pretty good job of helping these poor folks out.
Food
A fair number of homes and stores managed to get destroyed amidst everything going on with the demon, so there's a lot of work for the neighborhood to do in helping them out. Whether by helping to rebuild what has been broken or by just handing out some free food to the people who need it. Of course, you might also take some food for yourself. Hopefully you're not a horrible enough person to just steal from the homeless~
Literal Cleaning
And here's where the fun comes in. The buildings that need to be rebuilt and the streets that need to be cleaned up are all under works and you can help in any way you deem worthy. You might carry loads or actually put forth the effort to help rebuild some lost homes, it's up to you. Of course, if you set about helping out in this way, you might notice little fairy-like spirits flitting around each of the Near Shore residents who are working hard to help each other out. The little spirits shine brightly and seem to shy away if approached, but they titter happily anytime the person they're following does something nice.
Banquet
After the day is done, the Heavens have a special treat set up for anyone who helped out - a large banquet in the Meeting Hall back on the Far Shore. Just like any other banquet, there is food and booze of every kind available. But also, the small tittering bright white spirits are in attendance, following around any Far Shore resident who helped out today. You might find yourself with a new friend or two who won't leave you alone, who keep giggling anytime you're kind, and who don't seem to be able to talk and only exude delight and good feelings.

[She tilts her head. No, she's gotten the idea that he's kind of a wet blanket sometimes but...he might have something to be concerned about.
But her stomach gurgles loudly, and she reaches for the grilled chicken skewers, gently piling them onto the side of her plate.]
All right. Though, maybe you can answer a question for me while we're here. It's a little rude, but I'm curious.
no subject
[At least then any potential incompetence surrounding it doesn't run the risk of ending with him dead.
With her stomach growling like that, though, he can't comment too much on her taking advantage of the offering, and he leans slightly to one side so it's easier to get to the plates. It's an interesting look in combination with the faint eyebrow raise that comes at her suggestion.]
As long as it's not something stupid.
no subject
[Or at least that's what she feels. And...she hasn't thought about poisoning from the Far Shore. Memories, ayakashi, maybe other shinki and gods-not poison. It's still odd, thinking that there might be other ways to die after death.
She takes a moment, considering if she wants to ask the question anyway. But...she does, after she nibbles a bit of meat.]
Do gods need to eat? I know it's fun, but...
[She mostly does it because otherwise her stomach bothers her after a few hours. At best. Maybe even less.]
no subject
[It had been a few weeks before he'd actually gotten the job, but he'd only begun particularly distrusting the food about a week earlier than he started working, so it was still a decent turnaround.
When she said the question would be rude, Shun was expecting something much worse, and he stares at her for a moment after she asks it as if waiting for the actual question.]
We can't die of starvation, but it keeps our energy up, and it's habitual for most people anyway. It's a practical choice to continue eating compared to the alternative. [No fun involved here, apparently.]
no subject
[She shrugs helplessly. Heck, how was she to know? She doesn't know much about gods other then they're supposedly? superior to shinki. She eats a little more, thoughtful, before she nods.]
But you don't trust the food of the Far Shore. Don't you think it'd be...better for us, compared to the Near Shore? If that makes any sense.
no subject
[And honestly he's not even sure what he'd save up for. He hasn't wanted anything obtainable by money for a very long time, and while a few things have changed since he's come here, that isn't one of them.
At her theory, Shun simply shakes his head, unable to be that optimistic about it.]
I don't see why. And any incompetence or contamination in Near Shore food is far less likely to end in death than the kind of thing that can happen here.
no subject
[She's understanding that now, all things considered. She's going to eat-nibble away, quickly really-while listening to him. It's embarrassing, she thinks, of how hungry she feels. It makes her feel like a gerbil. Or a squirrel.]
Well...I didn't realize that it was so easy for us to die. Or do you mean Far Shore is more likely to be effective, because whoever is providing it knows what they're doing?
[Since, well. It did seem there was some trouble making going on around here.]
no subject
[Hence his total avoidance of Far Shore food. He's stopped actively encouraging others to avoid it, but he's not likely to let anyone goad him into trying it anytime soon.
While Masaki's nibbling is rather noticeable, Shun doesn't comment on it, and barely gives it a second glance. He's used to having to preserve food, so he understands what might drive someone to eat like that.]
Anyway, there's practical reasons to come to these things, but I don't bother with the rest of it.
no subject
Not good. She's thankful then, for Dio's special diet. (Which was really that he was a vampire but she hadn't confirmed that yet).]
Are you hoping to talk to the old gods again?
[He didn't seem impressed with them during their last conversation. She's still eating, but she's less enthused about it. And mentally crossing her fingers that it's not going to come back and bite her in the butt.]
no subject
Suijin came to see me the other day anyway, and I talked to Bishamon earlier today. The only other one really worth talking to is Amaterasu, and I doubt she's going to turn up to this. I'm more interested in the newcomers.
[Recognising the people he may end up having to work with sometime in future is always useful, and these things at least bear a good chance of most people showing up. He'll take the chance while it's there.]
no subject
I'd ask what Suijin and you wanted to chat about, but seems intrusive.
[And she only wants to know because she's curious anyway.]
Is there anyone in particular you're interested in? Among the newcomers that is.
[Not like...dating or anything, but in general.]
no subject
It is, but it wasn't anything private. She wanted to know what my impressions of this place were. Probably because I've been one of the more vocal critics of the system here.
[He doesn't say it with pride or even derision towards the system. While he's still dissatisfied, he also understands they have far more to deal with than he and many others realise.]
I just want to get a look at them, for now. So I know if anything's out of place in future.
no subject
Mm, I see. Maybe they'll listen to your suggestions?
[She's not certain, but they'll have to see. But...well.]
Maybe. But have you noticed anything unusual with the gods or the shinki?
no subject
[He's not going to delude himself into thinking his opinion and only his opinion would be enough to change anything here. It'd take more on his part to do something like that.
He almost asks her what she means by unusual, but figures with all that goes on here, it could really be anything.]
Not yet. At least it doesn't seem like there's anything else going on around the arrival this time, unless you brought it up because you've seen something. [Both Hiyoko and Izuku brought this up with him on the network, so that's another thing he's been looking out for even moreso than normally.]
no subject
Ah well. She takes a moment to push her fingers through her hair briefly, before finishing up her plate. Or at least the chicken.]
Just that there might be some groups that come from the same world. But if it's just shinki...we wouldn't know. Because otherwise...there's different ages, genders...personalities. Combat abilities. It's too varied.
no subject
There's a few people here who came from the same world, I've spoken to enough of them. [He hasn't quite had enough prompting to play his own card on that front in this situation, though.] So you've noticed what most of the observant people have - there's no pattern to this, or no obvious one. It's random, there's combatants and non-combatants, adults, children, aliens, nothing that indicates anyone has any idea who they're bringing before they're brought. I can't believe anyone who had this place's best interests in mind would be that careless.
no subject
Aaah. Well...I guess that means I'm not dumb then.
[She smiles a little, even as she's bemused at the thought of...aliens. What a strange thing.]
But...do you think that there might be a few that were specifically selected? And the others were random? Like...hiding grains of salt in sugar. At first glance, you can't tell the difference.
[She smiles, and shrugs.]
Though that might be a little too much. Like something out of a novel.
no subject
I doubt it. We still don't know who's actually behind bringing us here, so specific selections would be more like that idiot standing in for Susano'o who set strengthened ayakashi on the heavens last month. Most of the people I've met here are decent, so any potential enemy relying on random chance with only a few specific selections would be an idiot setting up their own loss.
[Since at this point, everyone he's met from the heavens has been as consistently stumped by the entire situation as one another.]
no subject
Most of the people I've met are decent too.
But...yeah. Never mind.
[Thinking that the niceness of others could be a mask was a road she did not want to go down. It'd only make people twitchy and paranoid.
...or in the case of some, more paranoid.]
no subject
Anyway, at least these newcomers weren't thrown into the middle of an attack. Dealing with that is complicated enough without people who don't know why they're here or what they're supposed to be doing getting in the way.
[It's said rather brusquely, but not as an outright dismissal. Their lack of information on arrival isn't their fault, at least.]
no subject
Yeah. I'm glad they were able to just settle in, even if it was a lot of clean up duty. It's easier to handle then trying to keep people from getting hit by cars.
no subject
[That's pretty much the standout example he can remember from that day, even if the guy was an alien and probably not familiar enough with the planet to not know that. Still, that's why time to adjust would really serve everyone well in those cases, since they could've likely solved that one with only existing heavenly residents.]
no subject
[She nodded. Shun did seem like someone who could hit the ground running, especially as he was a god. Gods...was it just her, or did they seem to know more then the shinki?
Nah. She was likely assuming things.]
Someone was actually doing that? Wow. Talk about burning your bridges.
no subject
[Given it was a school in particular and thus the focus had been on young people and kids, Shun can't help but have felt strongly about it. Specifically targetting people like that with no reason has never been something he's been comfortable with.
With a slightly terse nod, Shun goes on.]
I haven't seen him since, so he might be gone now, but he was a complete idiot.
no subject
Seems that we've been having some bad cases coming up. Not all the time, but unsual ones. Think they're connected?
[There's a pause. She wants to ask if Shun...thinks there are people who aren't idiots, but she's not sure she'd like the answer. She might be on the moron list.
So she doesn't ask.]
There are better ways to getting information. Asking politely is a thing.
