010 | Relief and Rescue
Who: Everyone!
What: Cleanup and moral support
When: All day May 16
Where: Just outside of Tokyo
Summary: It's time to get rid of the mess that that demon made!

The attack by the demon recently has left the surrounding area in a very sorry state. Not only are some people still hospitalized or slowly recovering from the affects of the draining of their life force, but a lot of nasty accidents happened during the time that people were walking around like they were dead to the world. It's been attributed to an odd natural disaster, and many think it may have been an illness that caused it.
The Heavens have decided to send any available gods and shinki down to help out in the relief efforts. If they try hard enough, they should be easily seen for the times when they are helping people out, so it shouldn't be a problem.
On top of that, some new arrivals have suddenly appeared. Amaterasu has left them little handwritten notes pinned to their shirts:
'These people need your help! I'm sorry to throw you into things like this, but please do what you can.
☼ Amaterasu ☼'
And yes, she has doodled little suns next to her name.

Care
There are a lot of people who were left hurt because of the incident with the demon and they are still trying to recover from it. From broken bones all the way to mental trauma, these people have seen a lot of crazy stuff and they aren't feeling so hot. Any kind of care is viable, but you might also want to just be an errand-runner in order to help the qualified people who are already doing a pretty good job of helping these poor folks out.
Food
A fair number of homes and stores managed to get destroyed amidst everything going on with the demon, so there's a lot of work for the neighborhood to do in helping them out. Whether by helping to rebuild what has been broken or by just handing out some free food to the people who need it. Of course, you might also take some food for yourself. Hopefully you're not a horrible enough person to just steal from the homeless~
Literal Cleaning
And here's where the fun comes in. The buildings that need to be rebuilt and the streets that need to be cleaned up are all under works and you can help in any way you deem worthy. You might carry loads or actually put forth the effort to help rebuild some lost homes, it's up to you. Of course, if you set about helping out in this way, you might notice little fairy-like spirits flitting around each of the Near Shore residents who are working hard to help each other out. The little spirits shine brightly and seem to shy away if approached, but they titter happily anytime the person they're following does something nice.
Banquet
After the day is done, the Heavens have a special treat set up for anyone who helped out - a large banquet in the Meeting Hall back on the Far Shore. Just like any other banquet, there is food and booze of every kind available. But also, the small tittering bright white spirits are in attendance, following around any Far Shore resident who helped out today. You might find yourself with a new friend or two who won't leave you alone, who keep giggling anytime you're kind, and who don't seem to be able to talk and only exude delight and good feelings.

What the hell did you think I was eating when I told you I wouldn't take what the heavens gave us?
[True, there's take-out, but living on that would probably be just as bad of an idea. Shun might not have complex cooking knowledge, but he's watched the food preperations in Heartland often enough to know some basic, long-lasting meals.]
no subject
[He finishes with the swabbing, exchanges one or two pleasantries with the person, and then wanders over.]
You said get more people, but it's not like a restaurant... [He picks up a bowl.] Maybe if I take this to them...?
no subject
That was what I was thinking. I'd do it myself, but I'm sure you know by now I don't approach people well.
[It's not said with any shame - it's just a fact of how he comes off, which has been used to his advantage in the past. Not translating well to civilian interaction is the downside.]
no subject
Well, you need to stay here anyway. The chance that some of this stuff might disappear once you turn your back isn't zero, after all.
[He picks up another bowl and holds it out to be filled.] Was there anyone you wanted this delivered to first?
no subject
That question is one he's considered earlier in his activities, and so the answer comes quickly.]
People who can't go as long without food - children, elderly, sick, nursing, whoever else looks like they need it. Don't turn down people who aren't unless it's some god or shinki trying to take what isn't theirs, but focus on those.
no subject
Got it. I'll look for containers too, on the way back. [Off he goes.]
[... And then back a while later, carrying a little stack of bowls and an apologetic expression.]
Aha...I hope you weren't attached to those bowls you had before... One of them broke. But someone told me I could have these. [He puts the stack on the table. Most of them are a little chipped.] I washed them while I was at it~!
[WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE TOOK SO LONG TO GET BACK BECAUSE HE GOT DIVERTED BY A GAGGLE OF CHILDREN]
no subject
He supposes there are worse reasons for diversions, though, and he shrugs as the bowls are put down.]
They're just from my temple. There's too many of them there, breaking one is hardly a loss. [The chips stand out as Shun glances over the stack, but he wouldn't have even expected to be offered that many bowls not completely shattered after what happened.]
That should be enough to take the rest of what I made, anyway. My temple grounds aren't one of those ones that grow their own food.
no subject
[Well, might as well finish up here. He starts laying out the bowls in a row.] What are you going to do after this?
no subject
Starting to fill the bowls as they're laid out, Shun looks back the way the people he'd been serving earlier just left.]
Apparently the people building shelters are having trouble finding enough people with so many others rebuilding homes. I might as well lend a hand there.
no subject
If you're gone by the time I get back, where should I send these bowls? And have you seen a plate or anything around that I can use to...?
[He didn't notice at first, but carrying just two bowls got kinda weird.]
no subject
If people need them, they can have them. If you're that bothered about returning them, leave them at my temple. It's a hill surrounded by vultures, it's hard to miss.
[Which is a little annoying, given he would've thought a buried house was supposed to be for keeping under the radar.
In lieu of an answer to the question, Shun glances around for a moment, then over the back of the table before leaning that way and picking up a thin, square piece of wood. The way it's cut indicates it's some kind of spare piece thrown aside.]
Heavier than a plate, but it'll work.
no subject
[He doesn't not notice the Look, but those bowls were given to them, so they should use them!! Well...it's true that the donors didn't seem to care about them, though.]
Then... I'll deliver them tomorrow if I can't make it before dark today.
[He starts placing the food on the board.]
Vultures are...kind of an odd choice.... Are they...docile?
no subject
[Even if he just leaves them at the door, Shun can deal with that at some point. As long as he's not expecting to make a big deal of it.
"Docile" isn't a word Shun would use to describe any bird of prey, and the faint snort he gives at that hesitant question is somewhere between amused and derisive. Not everyone has Hajime's lucky optimism, so he considers fair warning wise.]
They're birds of prey. They won't bother you if you don't bother them, but I wouldn't be too heavy-handed with them if you want to keep your fingers.
no subject
Aha... Alright. [A true... fencer? ...man? A true man never gives up!!]
Are you familiar with how to handle them? [Because he can't imagine how and where anyone picks that up.]
no subject
[It's not like holographic robot birds are much of a comparison point there, but he's interested enough in birds otherwise that he knows a thing or two. Being the god associated with them probably helps, but he's not so foolish he'd think that's enough to give him a full pass with them.]
no subject
... wait no]
So... [He lifts the board to test its weight. Nope, too heavy. He moves a bowl off.] Why—and uh, when—would they attack?
no subject
Watching Fubuki's struggle with the board rather dryly, as if wondering how he could be having trouble with that, Shun gives a brief shrug in answer.]
When you'd expect them to. Provocation, getting too close while they're feeding, treating them like pets instead of wild animals. Don't do anything stupid and you won't have anything to worry about.
no subject
[When he picks up the board again, the bowls are still a little wobbly, but it doesn't feel like he'd drop anything.] Okay, I'll be off.
[Would be better if he didn't have to face off against the vultures at all, but, considering he got sidetracked last time, it's not like he can predict when he'd be back, and calling Shun to meet him somewhere would waste everybody's time.] See ya later!
no subject
Even if I'm not waiting on you, don't get so distracted you forget what we're here to do.
[It's said by way of farewell, because Shun's not particularly good at the niceties of conversation.]
