010 | Relief and Rescue
Who: Everyone!
What: Cleanup and moral support
When: All day May 16
Where: Just outside of Tokyo
Summary: It's time to get rid of the mess that that demon made!

The attack by the demon recently has left the surrounding area in a very sorry state. Not only are some people still hospitalized or slowly recovering from the affects of the draining of their life force, but a lot of nasty accidents happened during the time that people were walking around like they were dead to the world. It's been attributed to an odd natural disaster, and many think it may have been an illness that caused it.
The Heavens have decided to send any available gods and shinki down to help out in the relief efforts. If they try hard enough, they should be easily seen for the times when they are helping people out, so it shouldn't be a problem.
On top of that, some new arrivals have suddenly appeared. Amaterasu has left them little handwritten notes pinned to their shirts:
'These people need your help! I'm sorry to throw you into things like this, but please do what you can.
☼ Amaterasu ☼'
And yes, she has doodled little suns next to her name.

Care
There are a lot of people who were left hurt because of the incident with the demon and they are still trying to recover from it. From broken bones all the way to mental trauma, these people have seen a lot of crazy stuff and they aren't feeling so hot. Any kind of care is viable, but you might also want to just be an errand-runner in order to help the qualified people who are already doing a pretty good job of helping these poor folks out.
Food
A fair number of homes and stores managed to get destroyed amidst everything going on with the demon, so there's a lot of work for the neighborhood to do in helping them out. Whether by helping to rebuild what has been broken or by just handing out some free food to the people who need it. Of course, you might also take some food for yourself. Hopefully you're not a horrible enough person to just steal from the homeless~
Literal Cleaning
And here's where the fun comes in. The buildings that need to be rebuilt and the streets that need to be cleaned up are all under works and you can help in any way you deem worthy. You might carry loads or actually put forth the effort to help rebuild some lost homes, it's up to you. Of course, if you set about helping out in this way, you might notice little fairy-like spirits flitting around each of the Near Shore residents who are working hard to help each other out. The little spirits shine brightly and seem to shy away if approached, but they titter happily anytime the person they're following does something nice.
Banquet
After the day is done, the Heavens have a special treat set up for anyone who helped out - a large banquet in the Meeting Hall back on the Far Shore. Just like any other banquet, there is food and booze of every kind available. But also, the small tittering bright white spirits are in attendance, following around any Far Shore resident who helped out today. You might find yourself with a new friend or two who won't leave you alone, who keep giggling anytime you're kind, and who don't seem to be able to talk and only exude delight and good feelings.

[Izumo sighs, sipping his own drink as more spirits seem to gather.]
Yes. I've spotted a few earlier while I was helping patch up roofs in the town.
no subject
I could throw out all kinds of speculations from world religions, but we're all this cornucopia of cultures out here that I couldn't even begin to guess which ones would care about roofs and medical kits and hauling lumber and everything else folks have been up to today.
[He's a bit bitter, because he's so well-traveled and it's not actually helping him just now.]
no subject
You sound troubled by that. [His curiosity on this man is only growing, but he squashes it down.] Truth be told, I've been expecting some more hostiles spirits.
no subject
[In addition to being fallen shinki, sometimes.]
No, I'm mainly troubled by what brought them out of the woodwork - or if someone unleashed them. That's what I want to know.
no subject
[Not that he'd really know.
Izumo hums softly.]
They could've been brought out from whatever affected the town. [Such as the demon attack, but he's not sure if the other man knows about that.] Have you heard of a demon attack?
no subject
Heard about it, yes - was this actually where it happened?
[He looks around dutifully, as if for evidence of what happened.]
I know some gods got into it with a demon... everyone else seems to care more about the ayakashi attacks continuing than the demon coming back.
no subject
I've heard it happened, but unfortunately, I'm not sure where other than it happened in the town.
[A soft hum, though Izumo can't say he looks truly impressed.]
One would think the demon attack would be more concerning than the ayakashi. [But at the same time, he could see why people would be more focused on the ayakashi attacks.
The demon, on the other hand, seems too much of a threat though to let it pass freely.]
no subject
[He shrugs.]
As far as I can tell, there's a known way you get rid of ayakashi and it's working pretty well - even if there are an unending lot of them.
[But he makes a light sweep with his hand out in front of them, nowhere in particular.]
Meanwhile, I agree, there's seemingly only one demon, as far as I know.
no subject
I feel as if the ayakashi attacks has been increasing recently.
[A tilt of his head, a glance at the other man.]
This is the first time anyone's heard news of a demon, right?
no subject
[Everyone certainly seemed unprepared for how to handle the thing. It wouldn't be a bad question to ask on the BBS.]
I just heard rumors that there was an ayakashi attack in the same spot the month before, but what would be so special about that one spot... that's a connection I don't know about.
[It's just a school, after all. There are schools all over.]
no subject
I'm not so sure about an aykashi attack being in the same spot. [He gives a curious glance.]
Which spot was it?
no subject
[He points toward the nearest school.]
Somewhere in that school, I heard. That's about all I know. I wasn't here yet. Did you hear differently?
no subject
[Slight frown.]
All I heard was whatever happened to the people in town happened before. I didn't get much information otherwise, unfortunately.
no subject
Maybe one of the older gods? Do you know any of them better than in passing?
[He certainly doesn't think he does, although Suijin seemed at least neutral to him last time.]
no subject
[Especially with her position of being one of Amaterasu's advisors.
Just the mere thought of the goddess has Izumo uneasy.]
no subject
[He taps his chin. He knows a little of Suijin but just enough to be curious while not actually knowing a full personality draft of her.]
As in not willing to give out details about what happened? I dunno, she's the one who made that BBS post a little while back, right?
no subject
I think so. [And he sips his drink as he tries to remember.
Then:]
Do you know any other advisors of Amaterasu's?
no subject
Pretty easy trio to remember. Fuujin and Raijin.
[That's pretty available information, isn't it? Granted they aren't all that accessible, as counselors to Amaterasu wouldn't be, but he'd thought everyone knew their names by now.]
no subject
He finishes his drink.]
Don't think I've met those two yet.
no subject
[It's more a lack of familiarity and laziness that stops him from using their full names a second time.]
They don't seem all that different from the new gods to me. Tenure's a hell of a thing though.
no subject
They don't. [An agreement, though Izumo's still uncertain about something.] Do you want to have that kind of tenure?
no subject
[Power. Access.]
But funny thing about being on top of the world... makes it real easy to get a target on your back.
[And that much harder to look down at what's scaling to grab at you. Rosenkreuz had had that problem, which is how Schuldig and Crawford and Nagi were able to take them out.]
no subject
And listening to 'Skylar', it makes him breathe out.]
Makes it easier for people to stab you in the back when you're not looking.
no subject
Exactly.
[Of course, Schuldig's analogy didn't go so far as 'not looking' because of course he always is looking and listening.]
So if I do get that, I want it to be very clear when I arrive that I'm a force to be reckoned with. Bishamon for instance - she's got a heck of a reputation, doesn't she?
no subject
'Skylar' makes him uneasy, too, but for different reasons.
He chuckles.]
She does, but she's nice to talk to. [From that one encounter they've had, anyway.]
