Summary: It's time to get rid of the mess that that demon made!



The attack by the demon recently has left the surrounding area in a very sorry state. Not only are some people still hospitalized or slowly recovering from the affects of the draining of their life force, but a lot of nasty accidents happened during the time that people were walking around like they were dead to the world. It's been attributed to an odd natural disaster, and many think it may have been an illness that caused it.

The Heavens have decided to send any available gods and shinki down to help out in the relief efforts. If they try hard enough, they should be easily seen for the times when they are helping people out, so it shouldn't be a problem.

On top of that, some new arrivals have suddenly appeared. Amaterasu has left them little handwritten notes pinned to their shirts:

'These people need your help! I'm sorry to throw you into things like this, but please do what you can.

☼ Amaterasu ☼'

And yes, she has doodled little suns next to her name.



Care

There are a lot of people who were left hurt because of the incident with the demon and they are still trying to recover from it. From broken bones all the way to mental trauma, these people have seen a lot of crazy stuff and they aren't feeling so hot. Any kind of care is viable, but you might also want to just be an errand-runner in order to help the qualified people who are already doing a pretty good job of helping these poor folks out.

Food

A fair number of homes and stores managed to get destroyed amidst everything going on with the demon, so there's a lot of work for the neighborhood to do in helping them out. Whether by helping to rebuild what has been broken or by just handing out some free food to the people who need it. Of course, you might also take some food for yourself. Hopefully you're not a horrible enough person to just steal from the homeless~

Literal Cleaning

And here's where the fun comes in. The buildings that need to be rebuilt and the streets that need to be cleaned up are all under works and you can help in any way you deem worthy. You might carry loads or actually put forth the effort to help rebuild some lost homes, it's up to you. Of course, if you set about helping out in this way, you might notice little fairy-like spirits flitting around each of the Near Shore residents who are working hard to help each other out. The little spirits shine brightly and seem to shy away if approached, but they titter happily anytime the person they're following does something nice.

Banquet

After the day is done, the Heavens have a special treat set up for anyone who helped out - a large banquet in the Meeting Hall back on the Far Shore. Just like any other banquet, there is food and booze of every kind available. But also, the small tittering bright white spirits are in attendance, following around any Far Shore resident who helped out today. You might find yourself with a new friend or two who won't leave you alone, who keep giggling anytime you're kind, and who don't seem to be able to talk and only exude delight and good feelings.



In Summary:

• Help out the people affected by the demon
• Give out food to people who need it
• Clean up the messes
• Eat some good food, drink some good booze
• Have fun~

[Oh, that. A part of her is tempted to use it just to see what it does, but how it works was never explained to her (or it was explained after she stopped listening), and given its nature and the proximity of the Nearians, she doesn't want to come under the scrutiny of the higher-ups for now.]

Rend is an attack or something. Like a Ma— [Wait, he wouldn't know what a Maximum Drive is.] Like a finisher, against ayakashi, which are things they want us to get rid of.

[This time he lands on his feet. He teeters a bit when he regains having actual legs and the ability to balance but manages to stay standing.

That's going to take getting used to.]

So we're not just here for community service?

[He kind of got where this was going with the confusion about him not being a weapon and all. Shuusei just smiles though.]

So we fight these things and then you finish them off with that? Do I just rough them up or something?

You can think of it as a different kind of community service, if you want. [Since ayakashi are supposed to be negative somethings, it's totally different from beating up and/or killing people for money. Pretty much community service considering nobody gets paid except with not-death.]

I've never fought one, either. Since we have to do it together, it's probably a pain in the ass. [There's working in a team, and then there's that.]

Don't think about this too hard, but you have experience in roughing things up?

I don't know, I guess I could go pick a fight with someone and see what happens.

[That's mostly a joke. Mostly.]

Maybe we should figure out if we can even fight together? Are you any good?

I'm really good.

[He sounds like he was joking, but that's not a half-bad idea.]

Catch. [SUDDENLY there's a kick aimed at his head]

[Here he was making light of this and now there's a kick flying at his head. He gives a start before dropping below it just in time.

His reflexes are good at least! He's already rolling to the side to put some space between them. He definitely was not ready to catch it though. Maybe when he gets on his feet again.]

Woah!

Got some distance instead of counterattacking, huh?

[She reaches for the gun in her leg holster before remembering that she hid it back when she first arrived here. She produces it from underneath her jacket instead, and holds it out to him.]

Try this. [Since it's what she uses herself when she can't get close.]

Yeah, I guess I either have a big flight reflex or I just like having breathing room.

[He looks to the gun when she holds it out to him. He cautiously at first takes it but it settles easily in his hand.]

It feels... dead.

[That's not the right word but its the closest he can guess. He holds it out and aims it easily. Surprising how comfortable he is with it.

He's not aiming at her. He's aiming at a nearby garbage can near some uninhabited rubble.]

Is it armed?

You don't know? Just check.

[He talked about it in terms she's never heard of before, which could mean he's used to the kind of unconventional weapon in the same way that NEVERs or T2's are unconventional weapons, but might as well check.]

[He holds his gun and turns it a bit this way and that, not sure exactly what he is looking for. Finally finding the release, he checks the clip.]

Oh, okay. Got it.

[Locking it back in place, he takes aim again and fires off a shot. His target isn't hard to hit, so it's not too impressive when he does hit it.]

Nice shot. [That's one mystery solved.] You want to keep that one?

[So she says, already turning around to leave.]

Let's get out of here, everybody probably heard that.

[Gods and shinki being hard to notice is one thing, but she doesn't want to stick around in case the people nearby really did react to the sound of gunfire.]

Sure. If I'm supposed to fight for you it might be good to have by my side.

[And a gun feels comfortable enough even though he doesn't seem to have a place to store it.

In fact, his first instinct is to look around for a place to put it that is not on his person. It takes him a moment to realize that's silly and instead just relaxes his arm and holds it at his side.]

Good idea. No need to get emergency services involved in something other than the restoration efforts.

Then take this, too. [She hands over the spare magazine she had.]

It's not emergency services I'm worried about. [Hnm...] Teleporting would be easier. You done here?

[A gun, that feels familiar enough to give him the advantage he needs in a fight. More familiar than being a hand held gaming system.

Wait, what did she just say?]

Teleporting?

Yeah.

[Well, whatever, she can always bring him back. Besides they'd been standing around for a while, so maybe she hadn't actually interrupted anything when she grabbed him.]

Hang on. [She puts a hand on his shoulder, and off they go to Surtr temple.]

[And off they go.

Teleporting.

When they arrive Shuusei just stands there a moment without moving. He then slowly sits down staring straight ahead.

Then he takes a deep breath, letting it slowly out. At the end of this ritual he talks. This is a lot to take in. First being dead, then the being a game system/weapon, now teleporting.]

How? Where?

If you're asking how teleporting works, I have no idea.

[She kicks back on a bench.]

As long as it works. We're at Surtr Temple. Make yourself at home or whatever.

[He's going to take a moment before standing and making his way around, finally getting a look at the temple they call home.

Maybe if he just doesn't think about the teleporting thing, much like he doesn't think about the death thing, it'll all be okay.]

Do I look like I'd create something like this? [She says, while lounging around.]

You seem kinda freaked out. You don't like it?

The place is fine, I just have to get used to the rest of this I think.

[He definitely needs to get used to all of this. It's going to take some time.]

So how do you like the digs they gave you? It's pretty cool, I think.

It's like any other place. S'long as there's a bed and a bathroom.

Which bedroom do you want? I took the one at the back.

[Oh, yeah, that's something he's got to worry about. Where he lives. Well if she's offering him a room in her temple and he works for her...]

I'll take the room closest to the stairs.

[He's hoping there's one there. He hasn't seen the upstairs yet actually.]

Sometimes I might want to wander down to the kitchen.

Is that a question? Do whatever you want.

[She's tossed the metal case containing the bio-stabilizers into her room and locked it, so there's nothing else that worries, disturbs, or even mildly perturbs her. Even if he did find it, she hasn't told him what it is and he can't use it, so even that isn't a problem.]

One thing. I don't know about any shinki stuff, so you're on your own for that one.

On my own. Got it. There's some helpful guys out there, I'll just annoy them until they show me the ropes.

[Does she need him? She's pretty capable after all. He's pretty sure she's a bit better off than he is in many ways.]
