010 | Relief and Rescue

Who: Everyone!
What: Cleanup and moral support
When: All day May 16
Where: Just outside of Tokyo
Summary: It's time to get rid of the mess that that demon made!

The attack by the demon recently has left the surrounding area in a very sorry state. Not only are some people still hospitalized or slowly recovering from the affects of the draining of their life force, but a lot of nasty accidents happened during the time that people were walking around like they were dead to the world. It's been attributed to an odd natural disaster, and many think it may have been an illness that caused it.

The Heavens have decided to send any available gods and shinki down to help out in the relief efforts. If they try hard enough, they should be easily seen for the times when they are helping people out, so it shouldn't be a problem.

On top of that, some new arrivals have suddenly appeared. Amaterasu has left them little handwritten notes pinned to their shirts:

'These people need your help! I'm sorry to throw you into things like this, but please do what you can.

☼ Amaterasu ☼'

And yes, she has doodled little suns next to her name.

Care

There are a lot of people who were left hurt because of the incident with the demon and they are still trying to recover from it. From broken bones all the way to mental trauma, these people have seen a lot of crazy stuff and they aren't feeling so hot. Any kind of care is viable, but you might also want to just be an errand-runner in order to help the qualified people who are already doing a pretty good job of helping these poor folks out.

Food

A fair number of homes and stores managed to get destroyed amidst everything going on with the demon, so there's a lot of work for the neighborhood to do in helping them out. Whether by helping to rebuild what has been broken or by just handing out some free food to the people who need it. Of course, you might also take some food for yourself. Hopefully you're not a horrible enough person to just steal from the homeless~

Literal Cleaning

And here's where the fun comes in. The buildings that need to be rebuilt and the streets that need to be cleaned up are all under works and you can help in any way you deem worthy. You might carry loads or actually put forth the effort to help rebuild some lost homes, it's up to you. Of course, if you set about helping out in this way, you might notice little fairy-like spirits flitting around each of the Near Shore residents who are working hard to help each other out. The little spirits shine brightly and seem to shy away if approached, but they titter happily anytime the person they're following does something nice.

Banquet

After the day is done, the Heavens have a special treat set up for anyone who helped out - a large banquet in the Meeting Hall back on the Far Shore. Just like any other banquet, there is food and booze of every kind available. But also, the small tittering bright white spirits are in attendance, following around any Far Shore resident who helped out today. You might find yourself with a new friend or two who won't leave you alone, who keep giggling anytime you're kind, and who don't seem to be able to talk and only exude delight and good feelings.

In Summary:
  • Help out the people affected by the demon
  • Give out food to people who need it
  • Clean up the messes
  • Eat some good food, drink some good booze
  • Have fun~

[ He earned a brow raise from Ichiru for the hissing he almost didn't hear but it was to his advantage that he reacted that way. ]

Huh how fortunate for them. It would be helpful if they shared the information.

[ Ichiru sets down the rest of the items that he was carrying in their respectful places as he turns back to the other. ]

I see. I suppose that means I'll have to gather more information on my own.

[ Somehow, that doesn't surprise him when the boy adds the small bit about Amaterasu. ]

That would be quite helpful. I want to see who this so-called Amaterasu is.

[Meanwhile, Shun's finishing splitting up his stack of items as well, and at the mention of being "fortunate", he just shakes his head.]

Whatever you're thinking, it's less information than that. We get a bare-bones outline of how things work and how to use the powers all gods have, and that's it. They probably expect gods to pass on the message to their shinki, so your god should explain as much as they can anyway.

[Not that getting his own information is a bad idea, because actively seeking out as much information as you can is about the only way to keep on top of things here, in Shun's experience.]

You might, eventually. The old gods seem to have figured out that when they may as well not exist except for occasional words in our eyes, we don't hold them as highly as they think we should.

If I don't have one?

[ He looks at the other as he continues the conversation. Honestly, this place is a bit too vague on information and he hates it. No one is being clear with him and even if he thinks he knows a little more, there's more that he doesn't know. How do people here even handle this? ]

That's convenient. So Gods hold more information than the Shinkis. What a system indeed.

[ He muses almost sarcastically. ]

I don't see why we have to hold such Gods to high standards.
revolutionfalcon: (explanation)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2016-12-06 01:08 pm (UTC)(link)
You will. [Shun sounds absolutely certain of that, though he also sounds rather resigned about it as opposed to anything remotely positive.] There's more gods than shinki here most of the time, they wouldn't waste the chance to assign one.

[And honestly, Shun himself can't argue with either of those last two points, to the point his response is a faint, dry snort rather than any kind of argument.]

It's ridiculous, but it's one of their "traditions" they're not interested in changing. And most of the new gods who aren't full of themselves would say the same thing.

[ He almost scoffs. He sounds very certain which makes it all the more real to Ichiru. It means whoever he ends up with, he'll have to be on his best behavior while finding his way around them as well. He's really not interested in being anything to Gods in general. However, it seems to be a survival thing to have a God. ]

How does that work then? Do we simply pick a God or do they force themselves unto us?

[ He tilts his head as the other speaks those words. He doesn't seem affected by the dry snort. ]

It's rather helpful to have more Gods worth respecting.
revolutionfalcon: (declaration of intent)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2016-12-12 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
[...Technically, both of those things can be accurate, and a slight grimace crosses Shun's face before he actually answers that question.]

You'll be assigned to one first, which is more like the Heavens forcing you onto each other. If your god is decent and you don't work well together anyway or something else happens, you can ask them to release you and search for another god to take you in. Others might force you to stay in their service.

[There's a touch of disgust in his tone at that, but he's heard of it happening before and he'd suspected there'd be gods like that from the very start, so it was never a surprise to him.]

One or two of the older gods are decent as well, but it's still a minority.

[ As creepy as it sounds, Ichiru is studying the other's expressions as he answers his inquisitions. It seems like there are many people here who are displeased with how things seem to be running. He wonders how long this sort of imprisonment will last. ]

What a brash way to do things.

[ He states simply and leaves it at that. Of course there is no way he's willing to be forced to be someone's weapon but it sounds like he can't stop it. Also, this thought of negotiating with Gods in order to be released seems very troublesome to him. ]

I wonder if they ever will set a good example for the other gods with there manners?
revolutionfalcon: (go ahead)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2016-12-19 02:25 pm (UTC)(link)
[Well, he's not wrong, but he's also being a little less crass about it than Shun generally is, and a faint snort comes in reply. It's hard to tell if it's actually amusement given how dry the entire reaction is, though.]

That's not the word I'd use.

[As for manners, that's not really his concern, though he gets the impression that the term is standing in for something a bit more important here.]

I couldn't care less about "manners" if they start running this place competently, but I doubt we're going to get either of those things anytime soon.
forsakens: (💫 ᴀɴ ᴇᴍᴘᴛʏ ᴍᴇss)

[personal profile] forsakens 2016-12-19 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Ichiru listens quietly to the reactions and the words that the other continues to speak. Needless to say, he feels like he probably will feel something similar in the future. After all, it's only his first day and nothing too terribly happened. ]

What words would you use instead?

Doesn't seem like anyone will get what they want whether it's competence or not. I wonder if it they're just bored.
revolutionfalcon: (game face)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2016-12-23 01:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Stupid. Incompetent. They might be as unprepared for our arrival as we are ourselves, but letting the bonds between a god and shinki form naturally would at least put more people at ease than forcing them.

[It's pretty clear from his tone that he's thought about this sort of thing a lot, and he's certainly had the time to with how long he's been here. While he knows the higher-ups have had other things to deal with, they've also had months to do something about how arrivals are handled.]

They're overrun, more like. They're dealing with this on top of an uprising from another area, and it's clear they don't have experience with this kind of upheaval on all fronts.
forsakens: (💫 ᴅɪsᴀsᴛɪsꜰɪᴇᴅ)

[personal profile] forsakens 2016-12-23 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)

I suppose I can disagree with those words. If it was that simple, we wouldn't all have this problem now would we?

[ Logically speaking, all of this would have been really smooth if it were to go the way they all wanted it. Unfortunately, that was obviously not the case. It did come off that way since Ichiru is listening seriously so he could learn more about people here in this new place. ]

Such as those who are in over their heads I assume. How troublesome for them but I can't say I feel bad for them.
revolutionfalcon: (go ahead)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2016-12-28 02:05 pm (UTC)(link)
It's never that simple. With a place that has rules as longstanding and complex as this place seems to, that only becomes more true.

[Not that he sounds particularly impressed by those old and longstanding rules. Things like that, in his experience, tend to backfire more often than they do anyone any good, and in this place's case it definitely looks like they've been backfiring. Even if some of the rules have grounds he hadn't known until very recently.

Turning his head slightly, Shun shrugs his shoulders a little at that observation.]

Feeling bad for them doesn't do them any good, even if some of them are worth the sentiment.
forsakens: (💫 ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴀɴᴛʀɪᴇs)

[personal profile] forsakens 2017-01-04 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Indeed it does.

[ There's no real reason for him to argue the lather. He very much agrees with the statement in his own way. Rules and laws were meant to be broken. He knew that and it's not like he would be the law abiding citizen here. He's not going to be tied by laws even if he'll get reprimanded for it in the future. ]

One can only hope that they'll reconsider their actions. It's hard to tell who is worth the sentiment or not. I suppose I'll have to watch them closely.
revolutionfalcon: (about time)

[personal profile] revolutionfalcon 2017-01-04 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
Watching them closely is a good idea anyway, especially for someone new.

[In any case, though, they seem to have settled that particular aspect of the conversation, and Shun nods back towards the humans over the other side of the clearing.]

I'll be getting them over here to start building these properly. I'm not going to keep you if you have somewhere else to be.

[Of course, Shun expects that it'll be somewhere else in the relief efforts regardless, but in any case he doesn't see their talk going much further than this.]
forsakens: (💫 ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴀɴᴛʀɪᴇs)

[personal profile] forsakens 2017-01-10 07:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Perhaps, I'll find my own answers that way.

[ He shrugs some. He nods his head, since there isn't much for him to say beyond that. He can't imagine getting too familiar with people at this point. It's better to maintain the distance that he has right now. ]

Alright. I appreciate the time you have given me.

[ he politely replies as he turns. ] I suppose I'll be on my way.

[ Hes not expecting to do much after this but hey, he did help to some extent even though he didn't like it as much. ]

Bye, Bye.
